Guimarães is also worth a visit....this is where Portugal was born....you have a lot to visit here in the North of Portugal...let's go
Alcobaça is what made us seriously consider moving away from the sea... we were living in Nazare and our sons were at school there... we often went there for coffee and walks to escape the madness of Nazare and soon realised that it made sense to check out inland Portugal... we love Alcobaça!

@@millionplacesoneworld We moved from there to Oliveira do Hospital a couple of years ago... for me, Nazare was not good for living: ghost town in winter, overcrowded in summer...that's why we hung out in Alcobaca!

You have to go there 🤗

Hi, if you enjoyed the monastery there you should definitely go and view the Monastery in Batalha, but try and do it on a cloudy day as this will give the most authentic experience of the architecture. It is also a UNESCO heritage site. Manter-se bem!

However, I'm a bit worried that I might love it so much that I won't want to come back! Regarding the car, the one in the video is my friend's van. I still have my Mercedes🚗 I plan to apply for citizenship in 2-3 years, as it requires living in Portugal for 5 years. I've finally started taking a language course, so I hope to improve my Portuguese speaking skills soon. The "thingy" on the "c" is called "cedilha" and it's there only to indicate that the "c" has the "ss" sound instead of the normal "c" sound. It doesn't change the way the "a" before or after are pronounced. 🙂
