- Hello Amigas and Amigos🫡
Good to see you here with us💯
As I mentioned in my previous post we are looking for a new place to move in Portugal.
First place on the list is Ericeira. So let's roll!!!
Ericeira is a Portuguese town in the Municipality of Mafra. Urban area is 12.19 km² and 12,359 inhabitants live here. It is located 35 km northwest of Lisbon and 8 km from Mafra.
From Lisbon abour 30 minute ride.
Main activity of the place is tourism.
Ericeira region is surfing region because here are the best waves and world class surfing beaches, such as Ribeira d' Ilhas (world surfing reserve), Coxos in Ribamar and other.
Kitesurfing, windsurfing, bodyboarding, paddleboarding and a lot more other activities are day to day life here.
This town is also good for vacations, lot of hotels, good quality beaches such as Praia dos Pescadores, Praia do Norte and a lot of places to eat/drink.
Ericeira splits in different neighborhoods:
North side1️⃣
• Fisherman's Quarter
• San Sebastian
• Fontainha
• Saint Peter
South side2️⃣
• Blue Neighborhood
• Santa Marta
• Murtories
To be honest we loved Ericeira🤎🤎🤎 Will see where we will end up.
One more thing, since we are thinking about moving here - Real Estate🏠
Real estate average price for buying is 3500 euros per m2.
Long term rent average 17eur/m2 a month, but lot of properties are available only for off season, and in the summer they use it as holiday rentals. Not a cheap place, that's for sure.
So without long talking/reading - check out the video and of course if you have info about Ericeira that you would like to add - please write down in the comments 😎
Have a fantastic day and Tchau!!!🤎

Beautiful videos! It's good to see how passionate you are about Portugal and its gastronomy too. You already speak the Portuguese language well... You value a good quality of life and tranquility as well as safety... Your love for Portugal is fabulous and admirable. I'm Portuguese and I'm also an immigrant...I wish you all the best in Portugal...but be careful because there are scoundrels in everyone...All the best...Big hug
Thank you for kind words and wishes🙂💯 We love Portugal, it is amazing place to live in(of course it's not all sunshine and rainbows, but good things are much more in this country👌) I want to explore every corner/city/town/village here. Thank you once more and have a great weekend 🖐
Another great video man. Drone footage and tunes in this also very relaxing!
Thank you bro 👍😎
Thanks for showing us Ericeira, excatly nice town 🎉🎉🎉and food looks so tasty😂❤ kiss my little princess ❤❤❤so waiting for the next amazing video, bro ❤🎉
Thank you 🤎
Ericeira is a beautiful city looks like many cities from Brazil. Specially Parati.
Never been to Brazil, but looked up this town you mentioned👍 Wow...looks wonderful💯
Olá Andrejs é family! Great video! Ericeira is really lovely because it’s traditional Portuguese town… so pretty! I haven’t ruled it out for me yet…
Olá Jen, thank you 🙂👍
Vivam a vida e sejam muito felizes. O tempo nao volta.
Paldies ❤️❤️❤️
Wow! Just wow!!! I heard that is one of the best places to surf in the world. Waves reaching over 100-foot. Amazing video mate.
Thank you once more 👍 This is surf capital of Europe, but those 100-footers are bit more up north in Nazare. Still all coastline is great for surf, maybe one day I will try😁
No. That is Nazare. A little bit further North
I finally watched this one. OMG, Ericeira is definitely a place my wife and I will check ...although the home prices are getting scary if we ever moved there. 9 yrs ago we paid a little under $1000 per square meter for our home here (an attached house - 8 homes per building - about 158 sq meters) and now it would cost about $2430 per meter. I don't know how people can afford to buy now. Ericeira prices sound like they will be getting up there in time as well. Nonetheless, it looks like a wonderful town. Muito obrigado!
Hey Joe,
Ericeira is very beautiful (a bit touristy like Cascais), but it's a wonderful place to spend time.
Prices are high there and keep rising because Lisbon is very close.
If you've never been there, it's definitely a must-visit location 💯 The only downside in Portugal is the overall real estate prices, which is why I plan to build something in the future. Already-built places are way too expensive.
Thank you for your comment as always 🫡👍
Congratulations for the beautiful video and family. Your wife does a pretty good job with her Portuguese pronunciation in my opinion. Plus she likes Portuguese soup 😝.
Thank you 👍 So Praia Algodio is with G or Zhe? 😁
P.s. She loves soups in Portugal, I'm kind of 50/50 when it comes to soups😄
@@millionplacesoneworld - Algodio is with a "g" sound like in "go". The only times a "g" sounds like a "j" in Portuguese is when it's followed by an "e" or an "i", like in "viagem" or "vestígio".
@module79l28 Yeeee...I win 😄 Thanks for clarification 👍💯
@@millionplacesoneworld - D is D ... so, is like Dio, in italien ...
Thank you👍
It's nice and quiet in the low season but it's a crowd nightmare in the high season. If you move there you'll be going from a touristy place to an even more touristy place.
I haven't been in Ericeira in summer 😬 You say it is overcrowded? Well...that's not very good, but will test it out in couple of months👌 But that's just first place which we consider(downside it's bit on expensive side). Thank you for info, we need all information there is, before we move anywhere💯
@@millionplacesoneworld - One thing that you can take for granted in Portugal is that ever coastal city, town or village from Caminha to Vila Real de S. António gets "invaded" by beachgoers during the high season, so they're not the best places to live permanently (at least in my opinion, some people might like the fuss). Plus, as you found out, they've become absurdly expensive.
If you go back to Ericeira when the weather is better, even still in the low season, you'll see.
@module79l28 I've been to praia fluvial and lagoa Comprida in Serra da Estrela, I think I start to enjoy them more just because of the peace if we compare to beaches in summer 😁 And prices have gone crazy(Cascais average rent now is 32eur/m per month), that's wild...Next video will be from place which is not on the coast 👌😎 And we loved it
@@module79l28 Oh and next week we go to your city 👌 Drone flight confirmed 😎
@@millionplacesoneworld - Yes, in more recent years some municipalities of the so called "interior" have created great river beach spots and every year more and more people are swapping the coast for a more relaxed and not so crowded beach experience, even though some of these river beaches are already becoming too crowded.
Capela is a small church that was normally used by a specific smaller group. Some families had their own family small church that was the “capela” where they would baptize, marry and bury the members of the family. Capela can also be a part of a bigger Church like the “Capela dos Ossos 🦴 in Évora” that is a part of the “Igreja de São Francisco”.
Thank you, now I will know the purpose of capela 👍 Appreciate your given information a lot 🙂💯
Very nice man! Great video. Would love to see your impression of Sines one day. Cheers. God Bless
Now I see you already did Sines! Thank you. I'll watch it.
Yeah, I've been there while ago, probably this year will make one more episode about that area 😉👍 I loved Sines 🇵🇹
Very nice video, liked and subscribed!
Thank you, appreciate it🫡👍
Ericeira is a fishermen's village
That's right 👌🇵🇹
😅😅😅cik skaisti baudiet ēdienu😂😂😂😂😂❤❤❤
Man nedod neviens ēdienu 😁😁😁
Aha... tā izskatās👌😍
Do you need a permit to fly a drone in Portugal?
Azores?
Madeira?
Yeah, you need confirmation for every flight. Same goes for Azores and Madeira 👌
Hi, have you tried francesinha ?
Hey, yes, I tried it in the Torres Vedras episode. 🙂 It was a bit heavy because we ate other dishes beforehand. Overall, I liked it - not every day, but from time to time - yes! 😁🇵🇹
I'm think of moving to Portugal. How would you rate life in Portugal from 1-10 since you lived there for 2 years with your nice family? I am tired of the UK. I'm looking for a peaceful life and Portugal is highly recommended.
Well, I'm originally from Latvia, weather in there is similar to UK, so Portugal beats in that for sure. 😄
After 2+ years nothing has changed, in my opinion Portugal is the best country to live in. If you are looking for peaceful life, look on silver coast or bit more inland.
Overall I like everything here, of course there are some cons: traffic, bureaucracy can be pain sometimes.
You have to try it definitely, some people are not a fans of Portugal. I give strong 8 out of 10 for Portugal. Love it here💯🫡 Hope this helps!
Wow thanks for the reply. This is so good to hear mate. I think I am going to do it. We only live once right? Yeah the Silver coast is exactly where I'm thinking of moving. Lisbon and Porto are just too busy for me and right now I need peace and a cervesas. :) Thanks again for replying and I just subscribed. Keep them great videos coming my friend. Peace@@millionplacesoneworld
For me the same No Lisbon, No Porto. Silver coast is the best and on hot day with cold cerveja it's even better 😄
My plan is to visit all Portugal, so stay tuned! 🫡
And see you around in Portugal 🇵🇹
@@millionplacesoneworld Totally agree matey. I sure will 👍
vai tiešām tik dārgas cenas? Dārgāk, kā Caškajā🙄...
Caškajā tagad ir 6-7000eiro pirksana un 32 eiro kv/m īre 👌😎
Oho!
More than Cascais?...i like Cascais more.
Well...I live already 2 years in Cascais, want something new 😄 But I love Silver coast better than Cascais and Ericeira, my wife is opposite 👌 You are from Cascais?
@@millionplacesoneworld oh no.Im cuban and i live in Miami but i have family in Portugal.I love Portugal so much.Cascais was a dream , also Sintra.I really loved it there.I have been in Milfontes, Odemira and Algarve and Setuval. My favorite part is Lisbon and this special neigbohood Campo de Ourique.I have been in Lisbon but never made it to Campo de Ourique. Some day maybe.
No. Surf Capital is Nazare.
Nazaré has the biggest waves, but the surf capital is Ericeira 👌
