    ATS would say that, as they are not known for their 48re trans reliability. I have seen guys go through 4 or 5 on warranty and then buy another brand. Allison swap in a 3rd gen is only worth it if you tow ALOT, and heavy. At that point why not just manual swap and save 10k? Swapping one into a 6.7 Cummins is crazy imo when a Revmax 850 will take it every day that ends in Y. You will have to replace frictions in the OD unit, but that goes for any brand diesel over 800hp that gets beat. ATS makes great dual cp3 kits, and has some nice turbos.     I would like to see a Cummins with a ZF 8HP70 (preferably a BMW trans)

      Don’t know if that will happen, I know that dodge tested it out though. There’s videos of it on TH-cam I’m sure

    Why does it seem most high power duramaxs put the 48LE? (Forget the series) but 🤷‍♂️ I’ve been curious since I’ve scene that.

      Do you mean 4L80? Allisons come behind Duramaxes and 8.1s

      Because they shift faster for one, less gears to shift through in a 1/4 mile, they are hydraulic with an elec. Overdrive. It's very simple, holds all the power you can throw at it. An Allison is a catch and release type trans. If you are under 800hp the Allison is a great trans, but over that if you want to go fast you need a 48 to compete with the fast guys. Also for the guys racing a 48 is much lighter than a 6 speed allison.

      @@jacobmoses3712 He is talking about the 47 and 48re. The Chevy guys use them for drag racing behind the Duramax.

    The Bell housings for there Allison conversions are from CHINA Not made in America. They have tons of issues and keep coming back to Ats Diesel. These have a 30% return to warranty.
