Thank you really helpful! Some screws in my joycon had slightly different layout but it wasn't hard to figure out the 3 I needed in order to remove the middle layer, I think it depends on how old the joycon is or where it was produced. Also one of the "ribbon-shaped" wire (i don't know how are they called) was on top of the screw that was holding the actual analog, so i removed it first to avoid ruining it. Just be careful guys, the trigger buttons may detach and you will find yourself searching for the small spring, don't loose it!

Great video. Thanks. One interesting point is I had two screws on the plastic battery housing under where the battery sits. Looks like your version had them on the outermost part of the housing. My red/blue joy cons were purchased shortly after switch launch. I must have an old version. Also had a really thin ribbon going straight over joystick screw. Was able to remove and attach the screw without removing the thin ribbon but definitely a delicate process.

Thanks, now I can enjoy my switch instead of fighting against the analog stick.
Also the tiny pieces inside my R button microswitch fell off, but not the microswitch itself. So I spent 30 minutes carefully putting them back in order and the R button works.

Thanks for the video it really helped. I used this video to fix my left Joy-Con and it pretty much works the same with one notable difference. When you get to the step around 7:20 to remove the 2 screws from the old joy stick, I found that there was another ribbon (that connects to the "-" button) that gets in the way of one of the screws holding the joystick. I didn't have to remove the ribbon and opted to loosen the screw at it's source instead and moved it slightly out of the way.
Worked like a charm and the joystick works great so far. Thanks again Gregg.
