I originally got DragonQuestXI on the Switch and played it for nearly 30 hours and took a long break to play other games at the time then I got the game on Steam and was super hooked and finished the whole game 100% with all achievements at 155 hours, I really recommend going back to it, it became one of my favorite RPGs ever. I'm really excited for DQ12 and the DQ3 remake.

I agree, I'm not a huge shmup fan but I LOVE Skyforce. Have played it through at least twice, once on the PS4 & once on the Switch, and I could start a new game up now & play through it again.

I think what's most interesting is out of all the games you have, and Reggie, including all the oddities and rare obscure stuff, its the common titles you play most along with a few other niche games that aren't hard to find.
What a gem of a channel🙏 What a fun video idea. As a fellow slave to the almighty backlog i do love hearing how others face it. Personally i get overwhelmed quick. I usually finish a couple short games or a single long one, then i leave gaming for a few days or weeks while i read books or watch movies.
Animal Crossing at 400hrs, Pokémon Sword at 270hrs and CTR Nitro Fueld at 240hrs are my top 3. There are definitely some I thought I had a ton of time in and others I didn’t expect so much, once you get hooked, you get hooked.
Breath of the Wild, Divinity Original Sin 2, Hollow Knight, Brawl Ultimate, Mario Odyssey, these reinvigorated my love of gaming in a time of unfinished botched game launches. I picked up a Steam deck and picked up Skyrim again, such a testament to quality that regardless of platform it immerses you and hits differently each time. Thanks for the vids!
Lmao, you have no clue about what you're talking about. Skyrim had issues Cyberpunk had when it first launched. It only 'grew' in quality because they took $hitloads amount of time to get it to full working order. Skyrim literally was one of the 'unfinished botched games' you were talking about xD
I kinda neglected my Switch for a few years when I got my PS5 back in 2020, but I'm starting to really get into it again and been buying a lot of games for it recently. Lots a great games go on sale on the eshop, paid $16 for the doom collection which has Doom '93, 2, 3, 64 and Doom 2016 which is crazy. Got FF7 for $10 around christmas, and virtua racing for $3. The sales are actually nice and having the ability to play all of these on the go is a huge bonus as I travel quite frequently, and it makes the time go by so much better. The Switch is a great little machine.
Hi Jason! Great video as always! I have a request. I think you should rework/update your playlists. Since YT removed the "sort by oldest" feature, it's harder to access your older videos. I think a good solution would be a well-structured list of playlists. Thank you.
You are the 3rd person to recommend that, so I probably should. I feel like I already have a bunch of playlists, but you are saying I need more? Or just reorganize them? Suggestions?
@@MetalJesusRocks Yeah, it's hard to organize your videos, because you usualy talk about multiple consoles and different game genres in one video. And it's a lot of work. I would still go like this. - Games for X console/PC (if the video has mostly games for one console), where X - is either 1 console or more if you feel like grouping them. - Pickups (different playlists for home pickups, travel pickups, pickups with Reggie, pickups with friends) - Vinyl - Lets plays (any video where you play alone or with friends) - Other playlists like Gamer Eats etc... You should remember that most people have 1 console/PC, which they care about at the moment. I still enjoy watching all your videos, but I think most people would appreciate playlists that focus on 1 console or PC. It's ok to have 1 video in multiple playlists. I started watching your channel because I liked the Pickups with Reggie series. I had to manually look for them every time and it's not very convenient. Then I started watching all your videos from your first one :)
Dragon Quest 11 is probably one of the best JRPG’s of the 2010’s and the switch port is a LOVE letter to those fans. It’s always worth going back to because it’s just a beautiful game and the characters are just so lively!
Don't wanna be negative but considering how large your switch collection is, that means you probably have 200+ games with less than 10hours. Hmmm. I know collectors are not completionist but definitely an advert for curation in my opinion
On the contrary to all the likely young kids, or I guess just people with no life/ responsibilities in this comment section - during this video I was wondering how you have that much time to game as a homeowning, married adult. I used to watch your channel all the time in college, and its been a while since I've watched a video of yours - but it brought back some nostalgia! Always enjoyed your content man. But I am now 27 years old, own a home, and am the sole caretaker for my wheelchair-bound Dad. I am currently in-between jobs, and even then I struggle to keep up with just upkeeping the house, running errands, paying bills, and helping take care another human - let alone finding quality time to spend with my girlfriend. I am honestly amazed at the time you have logged on just one and rather inferior console that is more marketed to children rather than the adult/hardcore gaming crowd. And I searched up this video because I was trying to find something decent to play in bed before I go to sleep at night, since it seems to be the only practical way to get some gaming in for myself these days. I know everyone's life is different, and my situation is a quite unique - but most of my close friends at this age have also put their love for gaming on the backburner to other responsibilities in life. Careers, kids, post-grad degrees, etc. I really am trying to figure out how adults with responsibilities find the time to even finish games anymore. The only other person my age who I see finishing games and gaming all the time, is a newly-wed female friend of mine who gets breakfast in bed from her husband at least once a week, and doesn't really cook or clean ever, and they live with their parents at the moment lol. You don't seem like the type, and obviously you are a very proactive and busy person with your TH-cam channel. Honestly a video for how you schedule out your gaming would be greatly appreciated for your aging audience who I would hope are starting to own up to adult responsibilities in their late 20s and 30s. You also have no reason to "prove your worth" as a gamer to the critics in the comments here. If someone is past their early 20s criticizing the tremendous amount of hours you've sunk into this one console, that is honestly a little sad, and they need to get their priorities straight - unless their making a career out of playing games like you do. Anyone younger is just naïve in their own immaturity. Not trying to throw shade on anyone or the gaming community - I'm just looking to play and hopefully fall in love with games again in a practical manner at this age while balancing a family, home, and a job. I truly don't know how some people do it. And maybe I've just lost my passion for the hobby and don't prioritize it like others do.
Great list! I finished Witcher 3 and all the DLC quite recently, I started it in October and finished it in its entirety (side quests, map markers, quests etc) like mid March. Absolutely beautiful game, beautiful music, fantastic and likeable characters with a stunning world. Iv just grabbed the book collection too to keep immersed in the world! Lego City undercover is also amazing, I have been playing that recently and am pleasantly surprised how good it is for what you would think is a simple Lego game, very fun!
For DQ11, I also got around to 17-19 hours on my first playthrough before getting burnt out. But after months passed by (also during peak COVID), I revisted it and gave it the fair shot it deserved. It is definitely a classic JRPG grind, with a wholesome story. I think it definitely got better, but I will say that it is not for everyone.
same here! I've had 3 failed starts on DQ11 lmao. Farthest I've got was my last attempt at 25 hrs. I love the characters, the gameplay and the world, but the abysmal music just kills it : ( The orchestral versions from the enhanced edition certainly made it better with better sound quality, but it didn't change the horrible compositions themselves : (
Owning a large video game collection and also having a fear of missing out is what has you jumping around from game to game. You just need to settle down into one game and play it through without thinking about any other game. The feeling of nostalgia really kicks in for me whenever I actually delve into to a game and immerse myself. Because that's what it was like as a kid, you typically only had few games, so the hours added up. I mean I remember playing super Mario world for about a year and a 1/2 before I finally beat it.
I jump around because it's my job to make TH-cam videos and I capture all the gameplay footage for them. Plus I really like jumping around systems, old and new. Keeps things fresh and interesting.
@@lordeowstheking who 1st off you can take your comment and shove it in your ass. 2nd who hurt you? And lastly you're clearly on this spectrum because I was talking about my childhood. 🤡

I put 2000 hours into Splatoon2 :) 150 into S3 so far. I am addicted to Tetris Connected (1 on 1 online mode 'zone battle' is intense!!). Working up the ranks on total wins, currently ranked ~550 and still climbing since it is all-time wins for that leaderboard. I like listening to records with the Switch sound turned off 🤘

Super Mario Odyssey is a masterpiece... I was smiling from ear to ear on my first playthrough. Great video as always MJR! Would love to see this same list on your music preferences
@@GameEsthetics I thought it was decent - for an indie game - but it cost $30 and the main story - which was medicore - took 9 hours. i want $1 per hour of main story
@@jouflow Unless it is a game I really enjoyed why would I play it multiple times? and I would 100% a game before playing it 4 times, I think that you are just a person who likes Celeste and am mad I dislike the game, I would get annoyed if someone said OoT was bad aswell so I will ignore your comments for my own sanity unless you can give me a good reason to do something 4 times, litterally the definition of insanity right
I know he can't sink tons of hours into gaming because he films and he also jumps around and plays a lot of different games, but, I was kinda shocked to see how little time he puts into games. I don't usually feel like I've given a game a shot until I give it 20-30 hours.
I'm always bouncing around. For instance all this week I've been on the PS5 and PSVR2. The week before it was all Xbox Series X with Dead Space remake, Crisis Core and Hogwarts. Before that it was all those GB / GBA homebrew games.
Yeah I agree, he really meant it when he said he “jumps around” lol it sounds like he just likes tasting the start of games and not actually taking any pride in finishing them. It’s a bummer
For Xenonlade Chronicles 2/Torna The Golden Country I put almost 300 hours in. A lil’ over 100 hours each for Y’s VIII and IX, Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Legends Arceus.
I cannot stand the lack of bag space in that game. I only barely got started when it was free on playstation plus. Is there anyway to not immediately hit your bag limit when the game requires you to loot everything!?? I want to jump back in, but might need to start over since I forgot the story.
@@jakeryan2805 The only way to increase your space is to buy Bag Upgrades at certain Merchants in the Villages. At the beginning it´s tough with this little space but stick to it. It´s getting better with Time.
I put 135 hours into the original version of Dragon Quest XI, and I am someone who has never enjoyed the series. It's the best "traditional" JRPG of the last decade imo. And I still plan to get the upgraded version someday and do everything in it as well. It is that good.
I bought riptide renegade and GP2 because of you. I played both games and got all the extras and all the bikes. Very few games do I get that level of completion. Thank you for such a fun recommendation!
i get you. bought the ps4 with horizon zero dawn back in 2017 and just spent a few hours with it. there are so many games and so little time. its impossible
You beat mario twice in 20 hours? I spent 70 hours on my first play through just taking my time and collecting everything. I could spend 20 hours in new donk alone lol
This list is so timely, I'll be traveling the most I have in years and tossed my Switch in my travel kit again. I didn't realize Skyforce was available on the Switch I played it on my xbox previously and that'd be perfect for those hour long layovers! I've been playing Hades on it this month and putting a decent amount of hours into it, before I was playing Fire Emblem 3 houses. I probably have the most time into Smash Brothers on the switch though. I played that non-stop when it came out, and played a lot with my kid.
I was in the same boat as you with dragon quest 11.. then I picked it back up abour two weeks ago,and I am absolutely hooked. I haven't played anything since! It's really getting good and kicking into high gear
So... 10. Typoman: Revised - 45 hours 09. Trivial Pursuit LIve! - 45 hours 08. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe - 75 hours 07. Art Of Balance - 90 hours 06. Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury - 110 hours 05. Super Mario 3D All-Stars - 115 hours 04. SteamWorld Dig 2 - 125 hours 03. Tetris 99 - 205 hours 02. Super Bomberman R - 325 hours 01. SUPER MARIO MAKER 2 - 3,665 HOURS You read that correctly. I have over three thousand hours in Super Mario Maker 2. Also, a little thank you here, it was one of your videos where you talked about SteamWorld Dig 2 that spurred me on to get the game and I LOVE IT. You were 100% right in your review and I am very grateful that you turned me on to such an awesome game. It should be noted as well that just below this list at #11 is SteamWorld Dig (the first game) at 40 hours. But yeah, I play A LOT of Mario Maker 2. I might have more hours in Mario Maker 2 than you have on all games on the switch!!!
That's awesome. It's great when you find one game that you can absorb yourself in with so deeply that you always come back to it. I've never tried Mario Maker. Perhaps I should try it sometime 😊
@@VivaSuga Honestly you get a never ending cavalcade of crazy levels. It isn't just stupidly difficult Kaizo stuff either. So many levels are just fun and pretty easy. There is really a lot there and I always find myself coming back, but even I am aware that 3,665 hours is a lot!
Thanks for the video! The great revelation for me is Lego City Undercover; I didn't know I had to play it 😄 Grabbed it on sale on Xbox and I'm really enjoying it. The humor is so dumb, totally my type of humor. It's like watching a The Naked Gun movie. I've also put a lot of hours into the other titles mentioned here.
I just bought a flip grip and it works just fine with the OLED switch. I'm having a blast playing pinball and shmups. Get one and you will not regret it!

Lol dragon quest 11 you should only go back to if you're really feeling it. It's like a 100 hour rpg so you'd need to invest some time if you're interested in playing it till the end. Great list!
DQ11 is a really long game but it is easy to play and easy to come back to. Each time you start up the game it gives you a quick summary of what is going on. It is best played at a leisurely pace. I got 100% in the game but I took over a year to complete it playing it off and on as I felt like it
I have Ys VIII on PS4 but I gave up on it because I thought the map was way too confusing. Also love your wording "got burnt out from using every day". Like you never catch the dragon, man.
Monster Hunter,Xenoblade 1/2, Mario Kart 8, Bayonetta 1/2, DOAX3, Ninja Gaiden Collection, Ryza 1/2 , Kirby forgotten land, BOTW, Link's awaking, persona 5 and now metroid is being played alot on my switch and also brought Nier Automata aswell
I have 145 hours in DQ XI S on switch and maybe 70 hours in original DQ XI on PC. But i have about 300 hours in Breath of the Wild, and about 350 in Skyrim, although none of the Skyrim hours are on Switch.
Hey man! Glad to see more videos from you!! As usual, RPGs are the ones dominating the most played games list. One thing I'd like to point out is that the Switch has a strange way to track your games. Sometimes the Switch forgets the time tracking of a game that you haven't played for a while. It's also important to point out that it only counts the hours played on the console, meaning if you changed to a new console it will restart the tracking. I had like 35 hours of Hades on my old Switch and when I jump over my bew Oled it start all over again! It's kind of sad. This doesn't happen on Playstation. I wish there could be an app to precisely track all these data. Anyways, glad you're an Ys fan as well, take care!!
I have 435 h in Breath of the Wild. At my second playthrough, now in Master Mode I have 225 h, which means something like less than 50% of the game finished (465 Kork Seeds, about 40% of the map visited and explored)
Jason, just a note, I recall at one point a system update occurred which reset my “total playtimes,” under my profile. This was many years ago, so it’s entirely possible you did indeed spend more time in MK8 and other games than it says you did.
@3:00 absolutely! Fantastic game and like you say, free of the shackles of a pre-existing story or premise. In our house, we call it Grand Theft Lego!!!

I think what's most interesting is out of all the games you have, and Reggie, including all the oddities and rare obscure stuff, its the common titles you play most along with a few other niche games that aren't hard to find.
What a gem of a channel🙏
What a fun video idea. As a fellow slave to the almighty backlog i do love hearing how others face it.
Personally i get overwhelmed quick. I usually finish a couple short games or a single long one, then i leave gaming for a few days or weeks while i read books or watch movies.
Metal Jesus is a gem.
Animal Crossing at 400hrs, Pokémon Sword at 270hrs and CTR Nitro Fueld at 240hrs are my top 3. There are definitely some I thought I had a ton of time in and others I didn’t expect so much, once you get hooked, you get hooked.
240 hours in CTR is Chris Chan levels of autism.
Get a job dude
Over 1000 here. I don't really play it much anymore. To me it's a game that I'm fully invested in or not at all.
Your animal crossing alone is more than all MJR time on the switch. He’s not a real gamer 🤷♂️
@@rc_matic Who are you to say who's not a real gamer? Cause they like what you don't? GTFO loser...
I respectfully think that your comment is shit.
Lmao, you have no clue about what you're talking about. Skyrim had issues Cyberpunk had when it first launched. It only 'grew' in quality because they took $hitloads amount of time to get it to full working order. Skyrim literally was one of the 'unfinished botched games' you were talking about xD
By the way, I like the optimistic tone of your channel. Very refreshing on TH-cam these days.
That's an easy question, for me hands down the most hours played was Breath of The Wild 👍
Loving this concept of a video! 😁 👍
dude gets "burned out" on dragon quest but plays lego city
100% Is that wrong?
Never heard of Ys 8, looks like something I’d like thank you man!!
How about doing a list of most played games from all platforms that have the counter? Might be quite a task to put together but would be cool to see!
That would be a neat video to make. Good idea!
Thank You for putting both Skyforce games on my radar. Can’t wait to pick them up soon.
Hope you enjoy it!
@@MetalJesusRocks You saw there are 2 of them available in the eShop now not just the one you showed off. Both cost $9.99.
Dragon Quest XI is definitely worth coming back to!
- Pickups (different playlists for home pickups, travel pickups, pickups with Reggie, pickups with friends)
- Vinyl
- Lets plays (any video where you play alone or with friends)
- Other playlists like Gamer Eats etc...
Dragon Quest XI is such a great game and story!! I beat it twice, on PS4 and on Switch, I highly recommend you go back and finish that game!
This is refreshing , it shows you're human, its not humanly possible to get through the ammount of games you do and fully beat them .
These are baby numbers 🤣

Road to 1mil subs,
Great to see you're still doing content on games .
Used to watch you all the time when I was in high school,
Still a big fan,
+1 for Skyforce Reloaded. Such a great value. Otherwise, I’ve sunk a ton of time into Animal Crossing and the Fire Emblem games.
Great video Jesus!
I probably put more hours on Outrun 2006 than say...Gran Turismo 5, because replay-ability is the key.
I love the characters, the gameplay and the world, but the abysmal music just kills it : (
The orchestral versions from the enhanced edition certainly made it better with better sound quality, but it didn't change the horrible compositions themselves : (
The running in place in Ring Fit absolutely DESTROYED my knees. I put maybe three hours in and couldn't go back.
Not everyone plays one game a year like you.. why would anyone do that is beyond me.
@@lordeowstheking who 1st off you can take your comment and shove it in your ass. 2nd who hurt you? And lastly you're clearly on this spectrum because I was talking about my childhood. 🤡
@@lordeowstheking and to add to you're "why anyone would do that is beyond you" Is bogus, people play games like destiny 2 and warframe. Those games take dedication and time. So it doesn't take much to get anything beyond you.
To each their own. The way you play games is valid, the way Metal Jesus plays is also valid, there's really no wrong here. Metal Jesus is awesome and has an amazing wealth of knowledge.
I love Sky Force Reloaded, you got me into it, it's one of my most played games on Steam
I like listening to records with the Switch sound turned off 🤘
Great to see Lego City Undercover in the list. It's #1 on my most hours played with over 70 hours put into it.
I notice that a lot people as they get older, they are less active. I hope you have a regimen to stay in shape man, I love your vids, been watching you before the pandemic, so please, as a friend, don't forget to stay healthy! We need you to spread love and info into the later years! One love!

I know he can't sink tons of hours into gaming because he films and he also jumps around and plays a lot of different games, but, I was kinda shocked to see how little time he puts into games. I don't usually feel like I've given a game a shot until I give it 20-30 hours.
I feel the same way. He must play other systems a lot more than the switch. Would love to see his Xbox numbers.
@AlexanderMitchellDrums I finish lots of games...they are usually just the 10 or 15 hour variety, not the 50+ hour ones cuz I don't have the time.
@@MetalJesusRocks Have you tried GT7 in VR yet? It blew me away!
For Xenonlade Chronicles 2/Torna The Golden Country I put almost 300 hours in.
A lil’ over 100 hours each for Y’s VIII and IX, Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Legends Arceus.
Some of the comments here makes me question if people actually play games for entertainment or for bragging rights.

Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning was my most played Switch Game last Year. 127 Hours and I loved any Second of it. 🥰
I cannot stand the lack of bag space in that game. I only barely got started when it was free on playstation plus. Is there anyway to not immediately hit your bag limit when the game requires you to loot everything!?? I want to jump back in, but might need to start over since I forgot the story.

I put 135 hours into the original version of Dragon Quest XI, and I am someone who has never enjoyed the series. It's the best "traditional" JRPG of the last decade imo. And I still plan to get the upgraded version someday and do everything in it as well. It is that good.

DQ11 is a really long game but it is easy to play and easy to come back to. Each time you start up the game it gives you a quick summary of what is going on. It is best played at a leisurely pace. I got 100% in the game but I took over a year to complete it playing it off and on as I felt like it

I have 145 hours in DQ XI S on switch and maybe 70 hours in original DQ XI on PC. But i have about 300 hours in Breath of the Wild, and about 350 in Skyrim, although none of the Skyrim hours are on Switch.
Definitely go back and finish DQ11, that game absolutely rules.
Pretty damn similar to my BotW stats.
I’m amazed this guy didn’t have BotW in his top ten!
Jason, just a note, I recall at one point a system update occurred which reset my “total playtimes,” under my profile. This was many years ago, so it’s entirely possible you did indeed spend more time in MK8 and other games than it says you did.
Great list, love skyforce too, great local coop too
