It really sucked I dont plan on doing it again..looking back I should have just done a full frame for this car but it has definitely held up great I beat on it every time I drive it and even sometimes when I dont drive it
Sorry, got a small question. Are you doing mig with gas or flux core? Do you weld different depending on the area or part or what you are able to afford or what's easier? Again, thanks for the awesome video.
I use gas 75/25 mixture with .035 solid wire as far as welding differently yeah it all depends on what I'm doing most the time I so cursive e's sometimes I whip it back and forth sometimes I just run a straight bead just depends on what I'm doing
Hey brother I have a question what is the thickness of the steel you use on the belly also the lower a arms I want to pick up the steel today so I can get started
Usually it's done when building a hopper you cut the center crossmember of the frame along the top and the front and rear and stretch it open then add a plate of steel in the opening it changes the geometry of the springs and cylinders also makes the bottome of the crossmember a little higher to help from bottoming out
👏 👏 for doing that back of the belly on the ground like that, that’s some tricky Shit

I used gasless flux core from blue demon
@@camefromnuthin6994 how does it do?
@@thecadillacdanshow8658 it works really good I haven’t had any issues yet
u weld good it's just that will still crack if it's done like that
Where would it crack? I have never had any issues even on hoppers
Hey brother I have a question what is the thickness of the steel you use on the belly also the lower a arms I want to pick up the steel today so I can get started
I used 3/16
Have you ever done reinforcements above the lower a arms between the coil? I'm starting to get a crack there.
Where the arm bolts to the frame? If so yes I cut out plates and welded them in
Heyyyy
Crossmember stress point guy., not a wrap
Only thing missing is the top that's pretty close to a wrap
What kind of oil do u use in your hydraulic pumps from what store
For a street setup I use non detergent 30 weight just form any store
@@thecadillacdanshow8658 ok thank you
@@thecadillacdanshow8658 I have a 3 pump 8 batteries set up how much 2ga wire will I need for batteries and pumps
@@aaronmendez5025 I normally buy a roll from the welding shop and there will be a little left over depending on how far you have everything apart
Ok thank u so much I really appreciate you For helping me and quick response back
how do you feel about splitting the belly? to release all stress??
I did it on my oldsmobile I was building it to be a hopper but I dont really see it being worth it for a street car
@@thecadillacdanshow8658 What do you mean by “splitting the belly?”
