  • 2001's A Little Snow Fairy Sugar has a lot in common with its predecessor Pita-Ten, but it's a fantasy iyashikei -- no harem this time. Jisu of SecretIdentityStudio looks over the series and how a show doesn't have to be amazing to be good at what it sets out to do. Thank you all for 1,000 subs!

A Little Snow Fairy Sugar is one of my favorite Children's anime of the 2000s like Fighting Foodons and Mega Man NT Warrior.

Seeing your video reminded me how much I loved this when I was in middle school. It was very emotional for me because I interpreted Saga's relationship with the fairies as her way of coping with the loss of her mother and it mirrored what I was going through at the time.

A Tiny Snow Fairy Sugar is one of my favorite series of all time 😭 Sure it doesn’t bring much to the table aside from Friendship, but I love Friendship. I also love the rustic and cozy German town setting and one of the best things in the series is the Soundtrack by Shinkichi Mitsumune. ☺️

There. Was. An. OVA??? This show was one of my favorites when I was a kid. I've rewatched it a few times. I didn't know there was an OVA!!! I can't wait to check it out!

This is the only show where every time I watch the last episode I cry

I watched this a LONG time ago when I got the single DVDs wrapped as a loaf for $20. Aside from how adorable everything is, I found the OP to be a perfect earworm and would watch the trailer on other Pioneer DVDs at the time. Now I have it stuck in my head again. It's not a bad thing.

This was my first anime that I picked out for myself to watch when I was younger. It was slow and the characters were interesting. I loved the waffles the most though, they made me really hungry. I'm surprised that the anime was based of a real place in Germany. That makes me so happy because one of the reason's I watched this anime was for the beautiful setting. The first episode is really what wraps you in and made me want to finish to little anime. Saga the main character was so inspiring for a kid like me when I watched it because she had such confidence and organization. It made me want to become a better person. Also this show is too cute. I know it seems shallow, but it would be amazing to watch with kids. It's coming of age story makes your heart squeeze like any good anime.

I watched this when I was really young and my family really adored it. I think that as a child I really found the idea of using music to control the weather just cool. I was really heartbroken at the end because I was really attached to the characters especially when they seemed to finally find a nice balance in the friendships but then it was over. Now when I think about it makes me sad haha

Is it weird that I own the complete collection but still haven't sat down and watched the whole thing?? I saw the first 5 episodes in the early 2000's (back when I was in middle school) and abslutely loved what I saw, even if I was technically too old for it.
Of all the koge-donbo anime adaptations, I think Sugar looks the best. KD's designs are very easy to mess up ((see the 'am I cute?' meme)) and we have famed art director Shichirou Kobayashi to thank for that since they were in charge of the character designs.

Magic, excitement, enchantment, wonders, imagination, music, action, fantasy, thrills, and adventures. A Little Snow Fairy Sugar, I love it. I started watching it on TH-cam last month, it was amazing. Season fairies. I never knew it existed in the 2000’s until I discovered it by myself. I love fairies. I never give up believing in fairies and magic with all my heart because I still refuse to grow up, and forget about the precious things I knew, especially those from my childhood. I am like Peter Pan and have his youthful spirit. My one and only wish is to keep the magic alive for all time. And I also wish to be a fairy to stay strong, childlike, young, and beautiful forever and ever like them, Tinker Bell, and the other fair folks. Fairies, pixies and sprites are all real, and they do exist 🧚‍♀️🧚‍♂️🧚

Oh Sugar...that super cute anime that is so adorable its like personifying sugar then merging a baby, puppy, kitty and Tinker Bell together! ❤ Great character designs but not much else. Still a fun little series with great dub ( at least in my opinion.)

The lyrics of Sugar Baby Love used are the Wink version, which is version Japanese people would know. Wink did a lot of covers of Western songs, adapting them to fit their doll-like girly idol image.

@@SecretIdentityStudio Yea, first entered 'Ghost Stories' from awesome English dub, then enjoyed original Japanese audio. I'm a Japanese and really interested in multi-languages such as English, Portuguese and Italian.
Was Happy because I could purchased it with my money that I saved and felt a sense of accomplishment.

Omg I watched this in the early to mid 2000s as a teenager and this show really does a good job at fooling you. It's very cute yes and the music in it is fantastic as well, but how it ends just completely broke me back then. No joke this was the first anime that ever made me cry. It's very good though and I am finally watching it again on Amazon Prime lol.
