I finaly finished the show today. To be honest, I think that editing the episodes 23 up to 29 into 2 or 3 episodes would make the show more digestible. The best thing about Nadia is that some of it is absolutely extraordinary. And the blu ray discs make the show look brand new. Gargoyle is a terrific villian and carries a deep secret. But he's written so well, as such a bad guy who sticks to his cause, that even after you finish the show and find out his secret, it's still totally watchable again because he's not in on it. You the viewer know. He doesn't have a clue. And he spends the entire show like that, with a huge extra dimension to his character that's both there and not there because it's not yet part of the story. Wow. I don't know of any other character in anything with such a deep element. And that's just one character.
"Gargoyle is a terrific villian" no, he's boring and one dimensional, him not being in the know is just him being stupid like typical anime villian. he's just foil for the progatonists ,nothing more and nothing less
Dude, I still think about that to this day and I watched this show like 12 years ago! Sometimes the fact just randomly pops up in my mind and gives me icky feelings 😖
Yeah, that was def a choice I do not aggre with. In fairness, there's no indication or implication he had feelings for her as a child, so it could have just been relatively recent. Plus it's an epilogue, so it's not a major focus, and there's no given indication that he raised her. Which is why all things considered Sanson is still likeable to me, whereas Major Gilbert from Violet Evergarden is forever on my shit list.
Honestly, i disagree people should skip the island arc. For as bad as it gets, it has it's importance to the themes of the story. It's a moment of shock to Nadia, someone that idolizes nature, but is then put face to face with one that is dangerous and indiferent to her. And the message that tecnology is the way humans found to coexist with nature is a pretty good one, and relevant to the show.
I disagree. It's just badly written garbage. It's terrible, How did that even happened? The only important part is that episode on that giant flying saucer thing (Red Noah i think it was called)
It could have been reduced to a fewer episodes... I also feel that the entirety of the island arc is important for character development, such as providing a stage for nadia and jean to fall in love. But it was too stretched, like king running off...
The island stuff wore out its welcome. It was actually pretty decent at first. Like you said, it DID play into the characters. Jean had to invent TO SURVIVE. He had to man up so to say, which was what all the adult males were guiding him towards in their own ways. And as you more directly mentioned, Nadia had to deal with the practicalities of her militant organism 😅 Even their romance had some satisfying development. Just...after THOSE episodes, it all just fell apart until ep 35 put things back on track.
The director changed temporarily for the island filler - as such, it could be considered technically separate from the rest as it was not part of the original direction.
03:04 Stalking? He´s a14 year old boy, despite having a much older voice in the streamline dub. It´s child-like curiousity with no clear idea what he even likes about Nadia.
That really shouldn't need explaining, but thanks for it anyway. The video overall was a fair review of the show, I thought... except for that one robotic, culturally narrow reflexive judgment. It's astonishing how very many innocent characters from across the world and across the ages get hit with that one all too contemporary and parochial charge. Almost as if there wasn't an actual Earth and Human History that exists outside your particular neighborhood/faction/classroom/subreddit....
@@systembinarygaming Thanks for the feedback. I agree that the video was good overall. I often have issues with reviewers trying to pathologize such behaviours though. Nothing wrong with identifying certain decisions as flawed, but from a psychological point of view, that alone wouldn´t earn a person such a diagnosis - especially not a child. The point where things get problematic is when you do mature, physically, yet your childlike behaviours don´t stop. Jean is 14. He has every right to be clumsy, socially awkward and rather oblivious to that side of things.
@@HISTORY_IN_M0TI0N Thank you for your stance on attitudes that I consider (non-clinically, of course) paranoiac. I mostly agree with what you wrote, but I'd actually go a step further. Before modern times, Japanese cultural attitudes were observed by those from the West as notably childlike, and it is precisely those sorts of traits, and the arts that they spawn or influence, that draw most Gaijin to them. Japanese cartoons and comic books (and superhero television series, etc.) are consumed largely by those outsiders who take comfort in not abandoning childhood wholesale. I myself hold the position that maturity lies not in the absence of childlike behaviors, but rather in the cultivation of them along the lines of an awareness of other humans. So, while I certainly agree that the knee-jerk projection of "stalker" upon poor Jean tells us far more about the complainant than it does about the boy, I find it also a bit short-sighted to define Jean as simply young and incomplete. He is in awe, not oblivious and certainly not stalking, and his awe quickly turns to joy. Yes, he can grow to be mature and more considerate, but that should not need to happen at the cost of his sense of wonder and warmth -- certainly not in these Japanese and anime contexts. Decrying Jean as creepy or excusing him as immature each miss the point: Nadia is a story from a culture and in an art that seldom ceases idealizing purity and innocence, and this is the beautiful side of these Japanese people and what they do. Thank you for your patience with my own likely socially awkward and rather oblivious response.
I do agree that the dub of NADIA is good and rather underrated; it did take me awhile to get used to the French accents, but after several episodes or so they grew on me. For me, however, I found Jean the more likable and easier to root for character. Never did he come across as anywhere near creepy. On the contrary. To me, his innocence and kindness helped redeem Nadia's flawed personality. Nadia I at first liked a bit, but she got on my nerves during the filler arc. Nonetheless, I agree it is best to skip those episodes.
Do NOT skip the filler. As poorly executed as it is, as in need of cutting as it is, the "filler" does have some plot that Anno wanted to be in the show. The B studio that made the "filler" was given a rough outline of what to do by Gainax.
I did not skip the filler, and I ended up hating myself being that stubborn. The Island arc starts fine, is even a bit of a pallet cleanser after the rollercoaster ride the previous episodes where, but every episode the fabric of the shows starts tearing at it seams. I really hated myself being stubborn enough to sit down the Africa arc, because I knew it was bullshit and I was actually cursing myself that I was wasting my life sitting through it. God I hated the Africa arc! The show was picking up when Nadia and Jean discovered Red Noah, and then it feels like the show breaks your limbs and forces you to watch the a 'f-you, this is not the show you have been enjoying' waste of animation that are those episodes. My opinion, you can sit through the first 3 to 4 island episodes fine, but when we the show gets loony tuney With Jean hallucinating in repeated animation that he can invent nuclear reactors with mud and stones, I think you are better off accepting Jean and Nadia suddenly are in the company with some old friends, and explore Red Noah with the gang. Honesty, how they where re-introduced in the story is just a 'they are back again' with more character warping nonsense that goes nowhere. The story suffers from this bit anyways, and why should you suffer that much with it?
back then when I knew that the last episodes are near I started recording them, and I still have the last 2 episodes on VHS. what a great, great ending.
Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water ... A series about the struggle between good and evil, about love and loss ... About pain and friendship. But also about sexuality and growing up.
As someone who binged watch it twice, both the sub and the dub... I do think the island arc, at least 23-27, can be salvaged. As it does have important moments for the characters that are genuinely good. Would just require some editing to trim it down and make it far better. Most of the things to trim down are just some of questionable character actions and dialogue. 28-29 can very easily be merged down into one episode in order to make it a smooth transition into 30-31. 34 is fine to skip as its mostly just an in-house amv compiliation. Episodes 32-33 should always be skipped, as while people may bemoan the island arc, the africa arc is honestly the worst part of nadia, no contest.
Just finished watching Nadia... Ahh it all makes sense now why the story took such a turn during the middle. Now I know they were fillers. I kept thinking WTF is going on... thanks for the explanation.
Honestly, animation quality aside, which could be pretty bad, the island/Africa stuff I had no issue with and actually enjoyed a decent amount of it. There are some lovely character moments, seeing Jean step up to keep them all alive, Jean and Nadia's first kisses, Marie feeling like part of a new family, etc. Execution could have been better sometimes, but the ingredients were all there, and I don't skip on it for re-watches. The only things i thought were objectively bad were the Floating island episode where they first meet Ayerton again; half an episode where Jean hits his head and dreams a repetitive dream for 10 minutes; and the subplot in Africa where Nadia develops an infatuation with Hamahama which did not fit with where Jean and Nadia were as a couple at all.
I admit that the island part was on my nerves even as a child when I first saw this anime. The graphics quality was also quite low, it was very obvious something happened with the production, but overall this is one of the best animes I've ever seen and the themes , the plots are very deep, they could easily challenge a high-end series. Regarding the character flaws such as Nadia being very emotional about her veganism ( although I hate veganism) I find it quite ok and the production nailed it - why ? because she was a teenager girl that sometimes overreacts, like most teenagers so it only makes her natural and more human . Even that part when she acted badly with the captain before finding out he is her father - I admit it was so annoying, but at the same time, quite natural. Another good thing about the island part ( maybe the best in my opinion ) is when Grandis shares with Nadia some pieces of her own past experiences, being a sort of a mom or big sister to her . if the production could have gotten along, this series would have easily been the best one of all times
Really enjoyed this! Your videos have a really relaxed and conversational tone. I'm a huge fan of Nadia, partially because it's kind of a less depressing Evangelion stylistically, and partially because I can relate to Nadia herself as I am also an obnoxious vegan with undiagnosed personality disorders.
I uh I watched this for the first time as a kid and loved the filler. Gave it a rewatch recently and i can take it or leave it cause I happen to find the island shit still pretty funny
So I started watching Nadia not too long ago and actually right now I'm in the Island arch and after seeing this, i totally get it now. The characters are so flanderized, the plot is repetitive, and Nadia is freaking awful here. I was wondering why these epsiodes were so bad compared to the previous stuff. Terrible filler. Thanks for the warning ^^. Great review. And the rest of the show I've really liked
I watched them and nothing felt off the whole arc kept adding to the characters an giving fun moments to watch the issue people have with these older shows is the idea of a slower burn instead of it just spamming bigger plot points in your face that is the reason HxH 2011 bothered me over the OG
I recommend the anime adaptation of Bomberman Jetter because is a pretty good anime and realky obsecure (sorry for my bad english). You can watch all the episodes with engsub in youtube.
it never felt like filler thou it added to everyone's character was charming etc I hate how people shit on stuff just cause its not quote on quote proper pacing AKA its not hitting me over the head with a ton of plot points with little breathing room people say the two OG HxH episodes about Leorio are filler when they are building on a character they love but getting pissed off WTF
I’m gonna say it, I see a lot of Atlantis the lost empire in this anime and wouldn’t be surprised if they ripped elements from this show into their multibillion company 😂
Sanson "marrying" Marie is fine in comparison Captain Nemo DID NOTHING BUT WRONG 😂😂 a long relationship with 20 years gap except he didn't even "marry" Electra (a younger side ho)
It's funny that you upload this video, because yesterday someone posted a screenshot of the two main characters from Nardia on one of the discord servers I am a member of. I have thought about giving this series try (mainly for Nadia because she looks attractive), but watching this has made me less willing to try it out. Not that I am not willing to watch this still, but I was thinking it was going to be an amazing story. It is a shame the series ran into issues (and with that Nadia as a character), and that would explain why the directer for Neon Genesis Evengalion had internal problems. It's nice to know the anime can be watch on hdive since I have a yearly subscriptions, so I have easy excess to the show when I decide to give it a try, and I will be sure to avoid the fillers. Oh by they way, in the story is it just the four characters who independently travel the world for the most part, or are they mostly stuck traveling with this crew base on 20,000 Leagues Under the sea (which while I have not read the book I can see the inspiration which I found interesting)?
Am I the only one who thinks that the sense of levity, adventure, and drama is perfectly balanced and packaged in the 1st episode and that the rest of the show never reaches the same level of quality? Sure, the final episodes are very dramatic but they are in total contrast to the wonderful sense of adventure presented in the pilot. It also strongly implies that Jean is the main character because most everything is presented from his POV, whereas later on he takes a back seat to the story and is not the driver of the plot. I always felt like Ep1 was a pilot for a show that never came out.
it never felt like filler thou it added to everyone's character was charming etc I hate how people shit on stuff just cause its not quote on quote proper pacing AKA its not hitting me over the head with a ton of plot points with little breathing room
It's an interesting point. Although arguably that might be a good thing. We start with a science genius hero (this is you the viewer) but he's not the smartest character in the show. In fact he's just there for the ride as ancient empires, super science and religion take over the show. It's almost a philosophical lecture on how insignificant you are except it's fun too watch.
I HATED that island part. Glad to see I wasn't the only one. And yes, Nadia and especially Jean were really getting on my nerves (seriously dude! what's so hard to understand when she says she doesn't want to eat meat?!)
Yeah, the sheer insensitivity to that particular life choice got really grating after a while. Weird how I heard a lot of how annoying Nadia could be, but no one mentioned anything about Jean. And it is amazing that there are several instances where the most levelheaded of the child characters... Is the 4 year old girl.
@@FlyingFocs That, I really thought Mary would get annoying quick but she was actually one of the most likeable characters in this show with Nemo (and King, but King is a cub lion so I don't think it counts).
@@c0mpu73rguy I can't think of a character I really disliked in this. Just some that got a bit annoying. But I think what helps with Marie is she feels really well written. Like when they're falling to their potential deaths in the Grandis (ep 36, I believe), and they're taking so long that she goes "this is boring..." I can see a 4 year old saying that. Plus, her dragging a high-on-shrooms Jean back to camp while chewing him out is one of the ONLY parts of that Island arc I liked.
@@FlyingFocs I didn't hated any character either. There were just some parts where some of there got on my nerves (except, again the three I quoted and Hanson who I totally forgot in my last post, sorry dude).
@@c0mpu73rguy The only thing that annoyed me about the Grandis Gang is, at least in the dub, sometimes they yelled to an extent that it was hard to know what they were saying (but also, props for giving it your all). why are some people calling it filler when all the episodes serve to add to the cast instead of taking basic character tropes an throwing plot point after plot point at you with no build up the whole second island arc is amazing skipping it is you skipping their whole bond that has been built up to that point that dam kiss perfecto
it never felt like filler thou it added to everyone's character was charming etc I hate how people shit on stuff just cause its not quote on quote proper pacing AKA its not hitting me over the head with a ton of plot points with little breathing room
The island arc would've been so much better if it were only 3 episodes long and didn't have all that stupid character derailment/cartoonish nonsense. The Africa arc, on the other hand, absolutely needs to be kicked out of the show.
@@Turnajon Agreed! Now, don't get me wrong, the ENTIRE Island arc isn't bad. Jean and Nadia's first kiss was super romantic and wholesome...even the way the moment was somewhat negated still felt true to the characters and therefore still managed to be narratively satisfying. That set of episodes just clearly wore out its welcome. And then had to be capped by two episodes that made absolutely NO sense -_-. All in all, this show is still STUPIDLY underrated, and that's coming from someone who just discovered this gem last year!
@@jjbb84x Actually, the thing about the first kiss was one of the biggest problems I had with the island arc. The only reason it happens at all is because of a stupid incident with mushrooms, which IMO felt absolutely contrived and out of character. The way that episode was written was very poorly developed. Because of that that scene doesn't even feel like genuine development between the leads; it felt like a nasty tease to me. I absolutely hated that. That and sorry, the mangled scene felt totally out of character for both. I felt that both were acting way beyond what I normally would expect. It's because of this that the only scene I would salvage is when they are beside the telescope and THEN fade to the next scene during the actual kiss. THAT'S what I would have done. Treating it as a cruel tease and ultimately doing nothing with the development of the protagonists (everything that happened between them felt like derailment more than anything else during that arc) ultimately soured that arc for me. That and the bizarre antics of King, the cartoonish stunts, and other character derailments such as Marie chasing King, made the Lincoln Island arc one of the worst parts of the show to me. I can't stand those episodes. I actually made a fan edit where I cut that whole arc down to one episode and kept the characters more consistent. (I can't link it here, unfortunately, because of fears of copyright.)
@@Turnajon Although I understand your passion, I personally still disagree. Sure, it wasn't *perfectly* earned, but from the standpoint of the series being temporarily under different stewardship at that time, it did seem like a genuine good faith effort to put things back on track. And it's not like the moment didn't come from nowhere. Nadia was beginning to realize she was a little much, and Jean was still loving and patient with her. If the mushroom nonsense led to a bit of valid character growth, I find it hard to completely hold at fault. Their talk at the cliff came off as genuine enough, and a heartfelt chance to "show not tell". Until then, the "love story" between Nadia and Jean was mostly shoved down our throats by the adults around then dictating their connection to the audience as opposed to the two actually taking a moment to explore those feelings with each other. I can understand the validity of any edit completely bypassing the Lincoln Island stuff due to its plethora of uninspired shenanigans, but I truly believe getting rid of that night on the shore cliff is definitely a case of tossing the baby with the bath water.
@@jjbb84x The scene where they are on the shore cliff is fine as it starts out. But IMO it should have ended on the kiss scene and cut to the next scene, no mushrooms or character stupidity involved. That's the only salvagable moment of that episode because that's the only time where I felt Jean and Nadia were acting like their usual selves. Everything after that and inbetween? It wasn't them I was watching; it was caricatures of them. Even if it's a moment of "show don't tell" it's still executed badly IMO. The setup to it was also very much unlike the other developments I had seen from them previously: the Atlantis scene, the gyrocopter scene, the burying Marie's parents scene - all those were character development where there was bonding between them. The problem is that the buildup to the telescope scene and after it portrays both as out of character. It is not that I dislike the telescope scene altogether. As I mentioned, it starts off fine. It's only after they kiss that it's all downhill for me. That's why I mention it's the only salvagable moment. Only other moments: the scenes with Nadia's circus past and Gargoyle hinting at Red Noah. Furthermore, as mentioned, I felt that I wasn't watching the same show anymore aside from those few bits. That's why I cannot stand these episodes.
To be fair, in older times it wasn't THAT uncommon to marry a significant younger wife, especially for someone who had a bit of a unorthodox career like military officers (remember, officers started as boys or midshipmen when they where still kids in the navy). When they came home and had time to set up a personal life you or married a respectable widow, or a young woman. The only thing that could have made it creepy is if Sanson did kept in close touch with Marie as a child, which isn't necessary implied. For all we know, they hooked up after meeting each-other at Nadia's and Jean's wedding.
The whole point of the whole show was them bonding even with their realistic character flaws since their both human they get better due to everyone around them till over the course of the show they both get a pair of ball in one way or another
@@steveandjeanniefrith236 I never found it really unlikable since I did not drown out the other characters responses an hyper focused on the black girl having a moment
@@senritsujumpsuit6021 The you are in the minority. Oh dear another woke obsessive. Nadia's anger is normally fine and in character. The shitty Island/Africa arc has her behave wildly out of character. Also she's black? She's Atlantean, mate. Dark skin does not always mean black.
Yeah i skipped the filler and then went back just for curiosity. Oh boy it's bad, not just bad but it straight up ruins the WHOLE series lol Even without the filler the series just gets worse by the end, honestly the best part it's when they are on that enemy base running away from those KKK guys.
@Niilo Johansson The only thing that matters is the Red Noah stuff wich clearly was intended to be there by Anno (i knew that beforehand so i didn't skipped it) There should be a fan edit version that compiles just that
@Niilo Johansson and maybe they getting IN the island but even then there is a weird inflation scene with Jean drinking seawater (at this point i knew something was off)
Am i the only one who LOVED the fillers? I'm tired that people keep bashing the fillers, when i enjoyed them and they got better. And i loved the Robo-King Race episode.
The filler arc shots here are *weirdly* reminiscent of ZZ Gundam. I'd make a depressed mecha auteur comment but I'm guessing Anno didn't have much to do with the filler. It also occurs to me this is probably the biggest Gainax thing I *haven't* seen. I should get on that.
Anno was in fact not in the directors' chair for Island/Africa. Fun fact I found doing the research for this: Sei Young also animated for Captain Planet.
@@SecretIdentityStudio The production history behind Nadia is really sad. Gainax lost $80 million on this series largely for two reasons. Firstly, Gainax signed some terrible contracts which kept them from having any ancillary rights to the series. They made no money on home video or merchandise or airings of the series because NHK owns Nadia. Not Gainax. Secondly, Nadia was doing so successful as it initially aired that NHK ordered an entire second cour mid-way through production (guess where the Island Arc came from) which put them even further in the red. The Island Arc makes me incredibly sad because I don't hate every single idea in it. Episodes 23-29 have some interesting ideas or brief moments that seem inspired and could've probably been fleshed out with the original writing staff and regular animation team (a separate studio had to be called in to work on the Island Arc as Gainax couldn't get it done in time), but as is there's maybe two episodes worth of content in this stretch of the series padded out by a lot of filler content that ranges from boring to infuriating. Episodes 30-31 (the two plot-driven episodes on Red Noah) were clearly episodes planned before the additional cour was ordered and are fortunately on par with the rest of the series for the most part and definitely need to be watched. Episodes 32-34 (the Africa arc) unfortunately have nearly nothing salvageable and are nearly unwatchable. I have mixed feelings with how Nadia turned out. It makes me incredibly sad that the series turned out such a disappointing arc that unfortunately is nearly unskippable (aside from 32-34) due to the tiny bits of plot and context sprinkled through episodes 23-29, and the two actual plot relevant episodes of 30 and 31. It makes the series so hard to recommend. I would kill for a version of this series that existed in a perfect state. By that same token, if Nadia hadn't turned out like this, we almost certainly wouldn't have gotten Evangelion and the End of Evangelion as those works came about as a direct result of Anno dealing with the depression and trauma he succumbed to working on Nadia, and I love Evangelion to pieces also.
@@snowwhistle1I still think the last episodes for the series suffered a lot from animation issues making the climax disappointing, but oh well at least the first 10 episodes are good.

And as you more directly mentioned, Nadia had to deal with the practicalities of her militant organism 😅
Even their romance had some satisfying development. Just...after THOSE episodes, it all just fell apart until ep 35 put things back on track.
It's better to just skim through the island arc honestly
The director changed temporarily for the island filler - as such, it could be considered technically separate from the rest as it was not part of the original direction.
03:04 Stalking? He´s a14 year old boy, despite having a much older voice in the streamline dub. It´s child-like curiousity with no clear idea what he even likes about Nadia.
Yeah this chick talks like someone who spends way too much time on reddit. Or Twitter. Just looking for things in old media to be offended by.
Stalk her? He’s was just a kid 😆
If not for this anime, Evangelion may not have been conceptualized, and the whole anime industry may not be vibrant as it is now.
I'm so glad, you share my opinion on the series.
This is still one of my favorite animes of all times
Very underrated anime im currently watching this now and absolutely enjoyed each episodes
I love this show, even with it's glaring flaws. But I think it could benefit from a remake.
back then when I knew that the last episodes are near I started recording them, and I still have the last 2 episodes on VHS. what a great, great ending.
Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water ... A series about the struggle between good and evil, about love and loss ... About pain and friendship. But also about sexuality and growing up.
Very nice explanation. Appreciate this work! Thank you.
I remember having the movie on dvd when I was a kid but it wasn't till years later that I saw the full series thanks to my step dad
used to watch this show when I was a child
Just finished watching Nadia... Ahh it all makes sense now why the story took such a turn during the middle. Now I know they were fillers. I kept thinking WTF is going on... thanks for the explanation.
Nadia the Secret of Blue Water was, and still is awesome!! I can watch it over and over again. The filler episodes weren’t bad either.
I just got this and rewatched it for Christmas I never even knew there was filler my first time and on the rewatch
man, I wish they can bring back this show again
Rebuild of Nadia. Make it happen!
The blue water is baby Ramiel ;)
Thank you for this review! I had the exact same thoughts!
I love this anime!!!
This is like being recommended an anime by reddit. Even if the show looks good, the opinions are crap.
The guy was just pursuing his love. How can you blame someone for that??? And did anyone use the word vegan back then??
Yeah that last sentence/fact creeped me out, too.
Omg I saw this at my local Half Price Books, the dvd for $50
I admit that the island part was on my nerves even as a child when I first saw this anime.
"Whats good about the show is REALLY good". Cant put it any better.
IM SUCH A FAN
I uh I watched this for the first time as a kid and loved the filler.
Gave it a rewatch recently and i can take it or leave it cause I happen to find the island shit still pretty funny
I didn't like it, but man if Jean tripping on shrooms and Marie knocking him out and DRAGGING him back to camp wasn't hilarious.
I watched them and nothing felt off
the whole arc kept adding to the characters an giving fun moments to watch
the issue people have with these older shows is the idea of a slower burn instead of it just spamming bigger plot points in your face that is the reason HxH 2011 bothered me over the OG
I recommend the anime adaptation of Bomberman Jetter because is a pretty good anime and realky obsecure (sorry for my bad english). You can watch all the episodes with engsub in youtube.
Am i the only one who loved the filler arc?
The Race of Robo-Kings was AWESOME.
it never felt like filler thou it added to everyone's character was charming etc

@@senritsujumpsuit6021 Same for me! I loved the island arc! ^^
I really want to watch this show
it's mind-boggling that most western professional otakus don't know or care to watch all-time classics like Nadia and Future boy Conan
"that he shouldn't be" - really? Jean did UNFORGIVABLE things? Hope you're kidding.
I really love your image account
HAHA! Militant veganism! I have never heard such a perfect description of Nadia.
I feel it only really got bad after the island arc. Because it was the island arc.
I always felt like Ep1 was a pilot for a show that never came out.
it never felt like filler thou it added to everyone's character was charming etc
I hate how people shit on stuff just cause its not quote on quote proper pacing AKA its not hitting me over the head with a ton of plot points with little breathing room
It’s not creepy to marry a woman you knew when she was five years old, if you were six years old 😂
FYI, Catherine Zeta Jones is exactly 25 years younger than her husband, Michael Douglas. That's right, they have the same birthday.

The filler episodes can be summarized as: Nadia and Jean kiss once.
why are some people calling it filler when all the episodes serve to add to the cast instead of taking basic character tropes an throwing plot point after plot point at you with no build up the whole second island arc is amazing skipping it is you skipping their whole bond that has been built up to that point that dam kiss perfecto
Dammit I like the filler so much
it never felt like filler thou it added to everyone's character was charming etc

Just finished the series, and YES, the island/Africa episodes are terrible 😅They start off okay, but devolve RAPIDLY!
I mean unless you were like....6 years old, but yeah point taken.
President taft first met his wife she was a baby. He already set the precedent
What episodes are filler?
What is the captain of the SDF1 doing in Nadia?
I really hope she wasn't implying that the chunin exams in Naruto were filler. Those were easily the most entertaining.

@@SecretIdentityStudio Eh not really, if I'm not mistaken Mr. Anno went under a different name when it came to said arc.

This series is mediocre at best. The issue is that the first 9 episodes are better than everything else. The beginning is vastly superior to the middle and end. The characters get really bad once they are aboard the Nautilus. Captain Nemo went from intimidating figure to a big pushover. Elektra allowing Grandis and her crew to behave in such an immature way would never happen. The series lost me when Grandis started chasing King all over the sub.
