No glue was used, the double tape that was on the rubber was still ok.

Seems like there is a thing with Canon and sudden death of cameras. I have a 60D and a T3, both died, no power, but no signs of failure. Maybe it's only planned obsolescence.

Hi is very hard to find this kind of parts, I use faulty motherboard as donor for parts. Try on aliexpress or look for a faulty board on eBay
