    Dude! I ran into exactly the situation you described regarding the deep spark plug on the right side of my '88 shadow. I was stumped and couldn't figure anything specifically that would get that thing outta there. Hit the AutoZone for the 3/8th fuel line and BOOM! Worked like a charm! Thank you!

    My 2003 Honda Shadow VLX 600 I bought in 2008 came with the complete tool set for everything that needs to be done for maintenance, even the original deep socket for pulling spark plugs. I will however get a piece of fuel hose like you just shown. That will make pulling spark plugs easier to do with my fingers after breaking them loose with the long spark plug socket and the box wrench that fits on the top of the long socket. Today I got to go for a ride as the temperature hit 65 degrees here in NE Ohio. PMS season is about over! I've been waiting to take Ruth out of my mini-barn (I named my bike Ruth in honor of Festus Haggen's mule on Gunsmoke) for a long time. I did put 2 oz. of Gumout Octane Booster in the 750 gas tank I have installed and I noticed a big difference in how she runs.

    What do you recommend for spark plugs?
    I have used NGK, but have gotten conflicting opinions on whether to use DPR7EA vs DPR8EA.
    The 7's are a hotter plug, but which is recommended for summer/warm weather driving?
    Will hotter plug deliver better performance even in warm weather? (Or only in cooler temps?)
    WIll hotter plug make bike run hotter?

    My wifes Spirit 750 has carb problems (AGAIN). Yes it does sit for extended periods of time. Ive tried using stabil, and I have had the carbs cleaned twice. But the bike continues to have issues each spring, and we have turned off the fuel valve and run the bike till it shuts off and starves of fuel. Am i missing a key step to preventing carb problems on these particular bikes? Also....the previous owner seems to have removed baffles from stock pipes. Could this be causing issues with Jetting? All the stock lines seem to be on the bike...meaning they havent plugged hoses or removed stock EPA crap. I may try the carb cleaning myself this time with your video as a guide..thanks.

    Hello TJ, i write from Spain. Hope you can help me. I had a little leak from the front cylinder at front, where radiator is, near where is attached the water hose. Plus i have my left spark plug in the front cylinder with oil. Its only happens when bike is running. Waht i can do? cause i dont know if the problem is the gasket from spartk plug or gasket in the cyliinder, and recntly i installed an hypercharger and i m not very sure if the problem can be a excess of air that is making the crankcase presure is too much, Can you help me? by the way my bike is an VT800. Thanks!!

    • @TJBRUTALCUSTOMS
      @TJBRUTALCUSTOMS  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's too wide. Not all deep wall 18mm are made the same. I have a husky, a snap-on, and a Pittsburgh brand 18mm that all fit. Remember. You only need to break the plug loose, if you try and get the plug all the way out, you'll get stuck.

      You need to drill this home on your video. As mentioned, the Honda tool is missing on most toolkits. And a normal 18mm deep *does not* work. I have a 2002 and the left-front is impossible to remove with anything else.

    • @coltonwancho6571
      @coltonwancho6571 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If it's flooded in the way I have been told for my whole life. turn fuel off open throttle fully. And crank engine over for a good while. Then fuel on and try starting your bike. You may want to put a battery tender on it to prevent the starter from killing your bike.

  • @Boldswords11
    @Boldswords11 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Am I the only one that looks at this and thinks this is overly asinine engineering in the face of looking good? My sporty and dyna have the plugs right on the side of the cylinder. Dont even need the extension for the dyna to get my plugs out

    • @coltonwancho6571
      @coltonwancho6571 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's also a Harley so you paid 7 time more for them. Not to say they don't have there own issues. It's just sometime stuff like this happen b/c the process to make the head like that was cheaper then relocating the plug hole. In turn making the bike cheaper.
