Bought my first motorcycle 3 1/2 years ago. I’m 6’2” and 210lbs, but I spent that first year riding a 250cc Yamaha across the country twice. Watching TH-cam videos, many of those creators were using your parts, lead me to my second motorcycle, the Honda Shadow 600. Between spending that first year on a 250, and the last 2 1/2 years on the Honda Shadow 600, I’m sure you can guess I’ve been told more than a few times I need a bigger motorcycle. I’ve ridden over 40,000 miles in 3 years, with trips on the Honda to Mexico and Alaska. I can assure everyone that the Honda Shadow 600 can handle it all just fine. I’ve never felt uncomfortable on the Shadow. I’ve spent about $800 on tires, but otherwise, oil, filters, spark plugs, brake shoes… probably less than $500 in maintenance. I’ve never broken down, and I’ve been a long way from help on more than a few occasions. It’s 2024, and me and my 2007 Honda Shadow are still going strong.

I was a Harley fan for many years, until in the late 90es Honda launched the 750 Black Widow. Due to several reasons, it took another 23 years, until finally I managed to buy one. It's a beautiful, rock solid, reliable, brilliant bike. Fun to ride, and easy to handle. I really love it

Breath of fresh air to see some praise for this bike. Had an obsessive fascination for Harleys when I was a kid. Never learned to ride, got older and let the dream die. Now I'm in my late 30's and there's a bit of nagging regret there in the back of my mind. The fascination's starting to come back and I want to learn to ride. I've have been looking into which bike to get, prefferably used so I can save some cash and get some protective gear. Honda Shadows keep catching my eye for the price, look, approachable power and weight. There always seems to be a few available from private owners for $2000-$4000. Just gotta stack dem chips for a few months.

Rode my 1998 Shadow 750 ACE from Toronto, On- Whistler BC through the rocky mountains, some days I would hit 1000 miles on a stockish (Bars, exhaust only mods) and It handled the trip flawlessly, only wish it had more passing power on the highway.

I stopped riding right after I started back in the 80s so I could raise a family (money was tight). Two years ago I retired and the first thing I did was shop for a Bike. After looking at a few different makes on Marketplace, I found a 2002 Honda Shadow Spirit that has 20200 miles and was reasonably priced.
Best purchase I've made in years. I love this machine. I ride all day and aside from Regular Fluid changes, I've never had an issue. This the most dependable motorcycle out of my little group of riding buddies. Great video, by the way.

I went with a '94 Honda Shadow 1100. I got nothing but good things to say about it. I like that it has a 4-Speed. I am one of those weirdo old school riders who would rather have long gears that I can use the full potential of the powerband. Also less shifting to worry about and I can put more focus on the road, and in my general opinion, 4-Speeds are a lot more fun overall and gives you better overall control in slowing down or speeding up depending on conditions. More throttle, less shifting makes for a fun time and comfort as well.

I got a 2006 honda shadow a few months ago, when i bought it, it wouldnt go oved 50 mph, so i had someone rejet the carb and clean the carb, tested the fuel pump, changed the fuel filter, and it runs good, but when im in 3rd gear and up, at low idle it runs good, but at mid throttle it sputters.. and it will continue to sputter until i either shift gears, lower the rpm, or go full throttle

i bought an 87 vt1100cc shadow in july of 88. $3600, 3rd owner, had 620 miles on it when purchased.
1990 i took it to the local dragstrip, it ran 13.65seconds, at 96mph, in 1/4mile, never used 4th gear.
91 i took it racing again, but after a wheelie at the starting line, i put wheelie bars on it.
i ran semi pro ET 91, 92, 93, 94, and 95. 2400+ wide open passes during those years.
i still have it, and an 89 model, but dont ride it anymore, i ride an hd fatboy daily.
i am 6'5, gone from 170 to 240, and i'm now old. lol
the shadow was a blast, shaft drive, buck horns, and reliable as the day is long.

I picked up an 04 Shadow 750 Aero this year and I flipping love it. Really the only flaw in it is the g****mn oil dipstick, which is unreliable and hard to read. A sight glass would be an infinite improvement. Otherwise it's damn near perfect, especially with an aftermarket exhaust to let it really growl. It won't win many drag races, but otherwise it has plenty of power/torque for real-world riding and even touring, and in exchange for that, you get 56MPH. These bikes deserve so much more respect than they get.

Now I own a cpl harley davidson but last year I bought a 03 spirit to chop up cause I need one in my collection. Purchased one of your tanks for it and got to say that alone was a gamechanger. I made a big mistake by trading my 2003 Honda Shadow VT750 with 250K miles on it, for a 2023 Kawasaki Vulcan 900, the 750cc Shadow could hit 110mph with 500 lbs of passenger on it, the 900cc Vulcan can barely hit 85mph with 500 lbs of passenger on it. What's more the Honda will run for 1M+ miles.

I’ve owned many bikes . Styles , sizes , everything from a mini bike to a Valkyrie, To Dyna Harley .
The most comfortable bike I’ve ever owned or ridden was a 2004 Aero 750 shadow . A little under powered IMO . I’m 250 pounds 6’1” and wife is a buck 10 . Not so sure any 750 would handle that weight on a grade .
Flat ground it was fine but hitting the hills it struggled .
A set of crash bars and forward pegs with a mustang seat gave me ample room to stretch my legs .
I went from that to a Valkyrie. Now that had power but ,,,,, there was the absence of nimbleness.
As a bobber ?? I can totally see the 750 being then perfect platform to cruise around town

Get it up to moderate speed in 3, 4 or 5th gear and get on the throttle. If it revs then starts to accelerate it’s probably time for a clutch plate job. Did mine in about 1.5 hours. Pretty simple.

I love Honda middle weight V twins I have owned an NTV 650 and a Transalp 600 racked up big miles on them now I have a 2003 deauville 650 and a Bros 650 it's just like a Hawk Gt 650 it's a cafe racer out of the box and handles like its on rails. They are extremely reliable and durable. I ran a 1340 evo for 10 years and over 25000 miles it cost a fortune to keep on the road and was rubbish to ride compared to the transalp 600 I also had at the time that I bough as a winter hack for 1100 €. I'm not knock Harleys just telling it as I see it.

There are pros and cons to air cooling but to say that being water cooled automatically make them better is not accurate. My 1970 BMW R60/5 has 215000 miles on the original motor and it is very air cooled. My Honda trail 90 that we bought new in 1976 and is still in service with who knows how many miles and 3 generations of riders thrashing it still runs fine. 1992 Nighthawk with almost 100k still runs fine.
