This whole scene in the old animated series was absolutely perfect! He took on 7 jedi, killed 3 mortally wouldn't 3 more, and nearly killed the last if not for Captain Fordo and his men coming in to save them. But it didn't stop there, Grievous tore through he Clones, dodged their gunship, and stood victorious as the Jedi and Clones fled. Grievous was his best in the animated series. He only ran when necessary, he could kill every Jedi he engaged in a duel, and he actually was a terrifying Jedi killer. This Grievous was the best Grievous, hands down.
After all maybe he lost his memories and eventually left Hypori eventually coming to earth and changing his name to shaggy, secret origin of the Scooby Doo character
My favorite version of Grevious and his best entrance. The buildup, tension, and execution was perfectly flawless. That, and his speech before confronting the Jedi head on, “Jedi! You are surrounded, your armies desecrated! Make peace with the Force now for this is your final hour! But know that I, General Grevious, am not completely without mercy. I will grant you a warriors death! Prepare!” That is worthy of a chef’s kiss.
You can't deny Mundi was a badass : he was literally the last man standing by the end of the battle of Hypori, and gave Grievous maybe his first proper fight
He was always my favorite growing up, I definitely feel there was a reason he was station with the galactic marines, he was basically just obi wan with a statistically bigger head and thus statistically worse defense lol the closer his head was to obi wans the more likely I find his survival. For real though he actually is the opposite he charges in almost every fight he’s in so I could see how he’d catch him off guard!
@@ic4192 nah, he's being shat on by everyone for no reason, his bad rep isn't deserved, it's wild exagerations/misinterpretations of the stories he's in
George: Make Grievous a Jedi killer and could wield 4 lightsabers at the same time. Also George: Grievous is a coward who runs away everytime from a fight.
I've been waiting SO LONG for this video. The battle that introduced us to the General Grievous as the walking slaughterhouse he was supposed to and deserves to be.
I think I was 9 years old when that episode of Clone Wars premiered on Cartoon Network in April 2004. I think I had nightmares when I went to sleep because of how terrifying General Grievous was. Also the soundtrack for that scene by James L. Venable and Paul Dinletir was (and still is) epic. It may not be canon, but OG Clone Wars made Grievous the villain that Star Wars fans deserve.
It's so cool to see grevious as an unstoppable, inescapable force for once, instead of a bumbling and inept coward (Like he's often portrayed in the Clone Wars). Makes a lot more sense why Dooku and Palpatine put up with him for so long.
And to think Hypori would be so notable that Empire at War: Forces of Corruption makes it the location of the Droideka Mk. II factory and Jabba's failed trap against Tyber Zann, all while in the Alt-universe, it was notable for being a reason why Galen Erso and Orson Krennic wanted to make the first Death Star, as mentioned in the Catalyst tie-in novel for Rogue One.
James Luceno really sold himself short on that novel, he originally wanted to make complete history of the Death Star in his usual style tying a lot of lore together, but he had to cut down the novel to just a brief period of time.
korok is the ultimat surviver. he survied Hypori, later on he saved a group of younglings during order 66 and later on joined lukes jedi order. he later on survived the rule of one sith with darth kraith and his followers and the destruction of the jedi order at the time (not sure to what extenct the destruction was) and afther kraith was dead he helped reviewing the jedi order once more and i think he was the grandmaster. that is the last we hear about him because of disney bought the rights to star wars not long afther this event

Ki-Adi: "...well, you shall not have been mortally wounded in vain." K'kruhk: "I think I can pull through." Ki-Adi: "Oh I see."

Ya know for how important he’s made to be and with how big a threat the cis were said to be this is a much more consistent version of grievous and the cis we are told about when compared to the joke that they were in the canonical show.
This this is the real grievous not the clone wars grievous who always loses and runs away in defeat, so glad to see he's finally getting his flowers. Prayers with the jedi willing to f around and find out!
This is what Grievous should’ve been, rather than the coughing parody we got later. These original Clone Wars animated media and Matthew Stover’s Revenge of the Sith novel are the only media that actually show how terrifying and competent Grievous was. He’s been portrayed as an incompetent, emotional fool in everything since he was portrayed that way in Episode III.
Grevious made a very horrific first appearance to the Republic considering at the Republic was winning the war at the time, and without Grevious the Confederacy would have fallen in the first year of the war.
And this is why Sha'a Gi should be working at Space Waffle House. Despite that these restaurants can rivaled the battlefields in the Clones Wars on so many occasions, the guards who are powered by waffles like Sha'a Gi can always defeated the troublemakers.
Captain Fordo is my favorite, as I'm sure he is with many. Sees that jedi with lightsabers can't kill him? Don't bother getting close. He's dodging blasterfire? Time to call in a gunship rocket strike INSIDE A BUILDING.
Disney only made season 7... George and filoni where in charge of seasons 1-6.
