This remains as one of my favorite Supernatural episodes ever. I love that it's a musical, I love that for once the show actually appreciates fan content instead of judging it, I love Chuck showing up at the end and I love all the little fandom inside jokes and references. This is one of the episodes I can rewatch over and over and over.
The look on Jensen and Jared's faces when they start singing Carry On was their honest reactions to this version of the song because it was the first time they had heard it the girls practiced it where they could hear it so they were literally moved by it.
While most of us lament a too short of demon Dean arc, this was the reason. They had their hearts set on doing a 200th ep like this and needed Dean back to normal. They also wanted an episode buffer between demon Dean and this, so we got what we got
The brothers expressions when they found out it’s a musical about their lives is hilarious 🤣! I don’t think I’ve ever seen them more scared and freaked out
So happy we finally hit the 200th reaction ❣️Robert Benedict who plays Chuck was gone so long for guest appearances because he had a stroke at an SPN convention. Lucky Richard Spheight who plays Gabriel was with him and got him to the hospital.
Actually both he & Misha recognized what was happening and called an ambulance. I think it's so ironic (considering Chuck's future) that it happened at an SPN Con.
I can confirm Dean's issues with any pendant. If you do anything that involves momentum. That things smacking you in the chin or teeth or nose. Even tucked in.. it will find a way... it always does😭
This is absolutely one of my top 5 favorite episodes! I still, to this day, sing the songs from this episode. I can remember tearing up throughout the episode, and then the tears started flowing when they started singing “Carry On”.. so many years spent watching my favorite show, and then this tribute, it was just so beautiful.. 🥰
i feel like this episode was a love letter from the show to the fans saying hey, we see you, we get you, and we love it too and that's why I love it so frickin much. it just gets me right in the feels every time i watch it and storywise Dean really needed this as well. coming off the demon dean stuff this shows him how far they have come and what it all means to him, especially his relationship with Sam. I love that while filming this they didn't let J2 watch the rehearsal of Carry On so when they watched it the boy's reactions were real. By this point in the show the song was the unofficial theme and meant a lot to everyone and still does. Did you know Kansas even sang it during the spn panel at San Diego ComicCon (Hall H) one year? Also it was so good to see Rob back on the show, love him so much. also in a roundabout way SPN saved his life. He was at a convention in Toronto and had a stroke and Rich (The trickster) realized something was wrong with him and eventually got him to a nearby hospital (which happened to be a leading stroke center in the province) which saved his life. if he hadn't been where he was who knows what would have happened. anyway i'm so glad to see that you enjoyed this wonderful episode and just think there is still the 300th to look forward to.
100% watch Orphan Black next!!! Truly amazing without spoiling it. It would be awesome if you reacted to the series trailer for Orphan Black and have your prediction of what you think the show is about before you actually watch it. Love your reaction to this episode!!
Top tier episode. The writing was so perfect in terms of showing us a recap of the show but also referencing the fans in the best way possible. My only gripe - I hate the trope(?) that teenagers would think people that are in their 30s are old. Teenagers’ heartthrobs are often in their 30s. Kids stop doing that in middle school. Anyway… my favorite episode of the season probably and I’m glad you enjoyed it as much as you did.
This was such an open, unabashed love letter to the fans (with a wink of "we see you, but you're still fans" to the weirdos). Just the blatant showing that yes, they know how weird it is out there in the fandom, and instead of getting completely squicked-out over it they turned it around and took a friend jab back at it. It's a really great episode. Also... HEY THERE CHUCK! Good t'see ya, buddy. :}
This episode gets me so emotional. It's so beautifully done. Been binging your SPN reactions for a while and you make me giggle a lot. Thank you. Also here to say a big 'yes please!' to Orphan Black. It's such an underrated show and not many have reacted to it, which is a travesty honestly. The compilation video you watched captured some of its complete bonkers-ness (yeah, I made up a word) but not all of it by a long shot. And none of its heartache, action and intrigue.
Being Greek, Calliope is a name I come across more than most. It’s a beautiful name when pronounced correctly. Most Calliopes shorten the name to Callie.
Yes. But classical names get mangled all the time. There were people who didn't know how 'Hermione' was pronounced until the first Harry Potter movie came out.
HOLY CRAP!.. there was a vote somewhere with Orphan Black as a choice?? I missed it! You coulda had 9 votes for that one. I love that show.. just found out there's a sorta sequel..stoked! And now back to the spn meta-ness. I do love the metasodes Such a good episode..loved when Marie called Dean by his name and his surprise at responding...not even a sarcastic tolja Single man tear...gets me..when it happens If you'd like to see those kids again.. they did SPN parodies..with a lot of the cast ...must find title...brb Hillywood..that's the channel..The Hillwood Show
Dude connects the dots. You don't remember what Cas said about how there can only be one profit. Kevin came after Chuck so how can Chuck be alive? Think about it? Connect the dots.
I love this one , for the songs that version of carry on so pretty ! And the meta is the best when Dean looks at the camera I’m like excuse me sir don’t look at me like that lol
Orphan Black was a great show. But, a BBC show. You didn't hear much about it because it was cancelled just as it started to gain traction in the US. It got a final season too, so it is a complete story. It really is worth a watch.
Appreciate and enjoyed the reaction, but come to the comment section to endorse the Orphan Black support :D Absolutely amazing show, with top-tier acting. Someone mentioned that you should watch it even if in your own time but I would reaaaally love to see your reaction to it. Don't mind waiting, at least I have the hope that once the time will come.
The connection between you and Dean gets spooky sometimes. I love everything about this episode. With you on the Wincest, but given that Dean sees Cas as his brother, Destiel is, to me, just Wincest in a different combination. It's great to see Chuck back. Don't worry, all gets explained eventually.
This episode has some spectacular moments, that I love re-watching. Buuuuutttttt (don’t hurt me everyone), I wouldn’t put this in my top 100 of episodes, as a whole. The jokes are fantastic. The nod to fans without being insulting is well done. Jensen’s break of the fourth wall is the best two seconds ever. But I think the overall monster story is stupid. And boring. Also, except that it’s humourous, musicals aren’t my thing. I hate that style of music, and these songs hit right in my “ick, musicals” spot. Sorry! Everyone, please, enjoy it to the fullest. Simply not for me.
Unlike the rest of this story, the monster is typical of crappy post S5 writing. Historically, Calliope is only a personification - even if she was "believed in", she never scared anyone or much interested anyone either. To insert an amped-up, violent version of her in a story is doomed to fail - like the endlessly stupid "Fate" in the Titanic episode.
One of my favorite episdoes, I dont really vibe with the sam and dean thing, I guess its not as creepy cause in real life they aren't brothers, but I do like how the show kind of makes fun of it, and I am completely down with Diestel lol, great reaction:)
Jensen and Jared actually thought the wincest stuff was the funniest, they would send fics to Jeffery Dean Morgan cause they thought it was hilarious. Would joke about wincest at cons and stuff. Jensen always did not like the destiel stuff, said it repeatedly.

Dean's stare directly into the camera after the Destiel comment wasn't scripted.
Jensen did it himself.
#200
I'm always slightly surprised when Marie tacitly acknowledges Dean as Dean when she hands him the prop samulet. It's very nicely done.
i like when Dean goes to flip fake Cas’s tie backwards (because Misha’s knot-tying skills were lacking in S4)
The look on Jensen and Jared's faces when they start singing Carry On was their honest reactions to this version of the song because it was the first time they had heard it the girls practiced it where they could hear it so they were literally moved by it.
Love the brother's look of shame when they mentioned their brother still in hell. 😂😂😂😂
Yess 😂😂😂
Yesss😂❤ Adam needs more recognition
I love how Dean is always vibing to music he never admits he loves.
While most of us lament a too short of demon Dean arc, this was the reason. They had their hearts set on doing a 200th ep like this and needed Dean back to normal. They also wanted an episode buffer between demon Dean and this, so we got what we got
I Love this episode! When Jensen broke the fourth wall in the Destiel scene i lost it 😂😂😂
I still can’t hear the words “John and Mary” without starting to sing that song. It’s too catchy!
The brothers expressions when they found out it’s a musical about their lives is hilarious 🤣! I don’t think I’ve ever seen them more scared and freaked out
I was so happy to see Chuck back,, This was just an amazing episode

One of my favourite episode - the rendition of Carry On My Wayward Son was perfection
I can confirm Dean's issues with any pendant. If you do anything that involves momentum. That things smacking you in the chin or teeth or nose. Even tucked in.. it will find a way... it always does😭
Actually that was JENSEN's issue with it.

It was much better and more emotional than I was expecting. Loved having all the title cards played.
I always lose it on 'A Single Man Tear'.
I love how you just casually say pounded by cass 😅
For sure one of my all time favorite episodes throughout the whole series!
There is a great behind the scene video of putting the musical portion together all the planning, all the work, really worth the watch.👀
100% watch Orphan Black next!!! Truly amazing without spoiling it. It would be awesome if you reacted to the series trailer for Orphan Black and have your prediction of what you think the show is about before you actually watch it.
Love your reaction to this episode!!
This episode is hilarious 😂
*You can't spell subtext without s...e...x*
Dean should have told her that you can't spell it without s-u-e either!

Awwww i love this episode. The beginning with the openings were top tier ❤ Single man tear is always great 😂

Mine too.
LEGENDARY EP 😭

21:35 Enter James Blunt soundalike. 😂

Laughing out loud to bawling my eyes out in 42 minutes. My favorite episode of the entire series.
15:01 *ORPHAN BLACK IS SUCH A GOOD SHOW* 😍
edit: not sure if you remember... but you did a tribute reaction a while back ^^ (the thrift shop one)
I love this episode!!!!!!!!!
Really all the hundreds episodes are phenomenal

the only musical episode of a show I can stand is Buffys

Just got the 200th upvote on the 200th episode, sweet.
YES. 😂

Which just doesn't make sense to me
There is a reason Supernatural is in my top three shows to watch anytime alongside Dragon Ball series and Southpark.
