@@DavidscomixActually, I think you screwed up the interpretation here. This scene, as well as the episode itself, was just a big piece of comedy, something like an indirect message to the fans, a kind of "letter to the fans". So much so that the episode was named "Love Letter to the Fans". The reactions to the headcanons and sidebars of people were unparalleled, all for humorous purposes. And if we analyze, near the end of the episode, Dean's dialogue with the theater director girl and the way he says he agrees, supports and is chill about her fanfics even though he doesn't agree with them proves the real point of the episode.
This show is a master of timing! After 4 episodes in a row of heavy dark drama we get a comedic gold episode! It’s breaks like these that are necessary to survive watching this series
This was a great episode for 200. Even the motel room number was 200. They also did the classic "throw the gun in the trunk & saying "We got work to do" scene for the 3rd time! The Sam said it at the end of the pilot, Dean said it at the end of season 2, & again for episode 200. The nods to Jody, Ash, Adam, Bobby, even the Ghostfacers. Great. And Dean's glare into the camera at us was great & unscripted, btw! That made it even better. The girls were fabulous! I enjoyed this reaction as well as all your others. ❤☮
This rendition of Carry On absolutely hits different for ANY Supernatural fan that makes it this far 😢 the fact that Jared and Jensen had SUCH emotional responses to it, almost like the song is talking specifically about their characters ❤❤ Ugh it may be a FanFic Sevice episode, at #300 too!! but wow did it hit way more emotional that it should have
this is one of the most entertaining episodes of Supernatural. It is THE love letter for the show. The music was awesome, and all the references were top notch. The only thing that irks me is a trope that should be permanently killed is that teenagers think people in their 30's are old. As far as I can tell teenage girls usually fawn over attractive men in their 30's. I know I am taking it too seriously but c'mon. Nobody thought Sam and Dean were old. Anyway, great episode and it does a great job at reintroducing Chuck.
If I remember correctly this was the special 200th episode of the series. That is why there were so many callbacks to past characters and events. A musical show called "Glee" was somewhat popular at the time, so we got a "Supernatutal" musical episode (which was much better storywise than anything "Glee" ever produced). Love this episode, and you had a great reaction.
I never got the sense of any subtext vibe but I think it was created by segments of the reality fan base that made its way into the in-universe fan-base suggesting/hoping for/fantasizing about homo-erotic sexual tension between Sam and Dean. 🤷♂️
the highlight of season 10!! Such a goofy ass episode that brought us all (exaggeration?) to real tears. I honestly think that last song got to J-squared too.
I can’t recall the name of the band that does the final season rendition but yes I’m with you the more mellow version of carry on my wayward son is really good!
lmao! I swore *never* to watch this again, just because the high school production was so *CRINGY!* But-thanks to you, my dear Evie, I am actually watching at least snippets of this again... ;) (And yes, the singers *are* hella talented; far more than they have any right to be, in a random all-girls Catholic high school... ;)
Dean's stare directly into the camera after the Destiel comment wasn't scripted.
Jensen did it himself.
#200
Hilarious, he was trying to shut all of those shippers up

I shed a single man tear during Carry On.
We all did, I think. 😢
@@darthken815 I ugly cried..
Rehearsals for Carry On were done when Jared and Jensen were not around. Their filmed reaction is the first time they heard it.

This is my favorite episode of this season. And yes, tears every time with Carry On. Heart wrenching.

I think that mention of Adam got 'em too. Those "Oops, we forgot something" looks had me 🪦.
I've always loved this ep

High school musical was cringe . This is actually good and the singers don’t have heavy autotune and horrible acting and dancing in those loser movies
I dont see tension between cas and dean neither...like dean is into girls idk how much i try i just cant see it
Yeah, 200th episode, biggest garbage ever, even bugs was better
Stick to Buffy.
Dafuq? Why are you such a sour puss
Are you a Dean or Sam girl ? I'm 100% Dean
