From the Machine manual about FIX DC: "This removes the DC offset. DC offset (“Direct Current offset”) is an undesirable constant shift in the signal level that might be introduced by some audio processing units. This offset can notably waste some of the available headroom." For example, normally the line out level from a sound card varies between something like -1V and 1V, and stays at 0V when there is no sound. I have a cheap USB dongle sound card that has the "zero level" at 1V and the sound wave varies between 2V and 0V. If I sampled from this cheap sound card, I could use FIX DC in Machine so that the zero level would be shifted down to the normal 0V. Without it the waveform would be shown in the upper part of Machine's display.
Björn Andersson Wow, that is really helpful, thanks for the info! I have never run into that problem but I can see where it would be helpful to have a fix for it built in to Maschine.
Hey - Thank you so much for these videos. Once I've chopped up a sample, how do i save the sample to use in other projects?? I ultimately want to have a list/folder of all my chopped up samples that i can quickly load into any project. Thanks!!
Create a folder and then go to where you have the sample chopped up and right click and it should say save with samples and then go to folder you created
How do determine the BPM of the project? If I have a slower sample, like a Mowtown Oldie how do I determine the BPM? do I just go off what the BPM of the sample is?
Hello Andrew/ADSR -How do I stretch JUST the tail end of a sample snippet? The chop I made has a horn @ the very End of the sample, but I need the beginning/middle to play normal,,,is this possible? I see how to stretch the Entire chop, but I Only want to extend the END of the sample, to seamlessly flow into the next chop??? Thanks much, 'd.j. CatScan'
Mark Atherton If Maschine creates new files for the edits, they get saved to the same location as the original sample, I'm pretty sure. That's what happens for me at least
Fantastic videos, really grateful
