I can never say it enough, this tutorial is excellent in that it gets one in the game - it is just what's to needed to get records done with that Hip-Hop signature. Good good work...
Yo I appreciate this fam. I've been doing the manual chop technique for about 3 years, and I run into challenges when it comes time for changups, tension and release. I'm going to start doing this a lot more. Thanks again.
***For the one's having trouble following along with the chopping *** What he's basically saying is: find your loop (whatever length you find, ie. 2 bars, 3 bars, 4 bars.etc). trim it until it loops PERFECTLY. Then all you need to do is MULTIPLY THE NUMBER OF BARS YOU HAVE (example: 4 bars) by the number of beats in a bar, which is 4. So that would be your 4 bar loop (multiplied) by 4(beats in a bar)= 16. That would be spread each beat of the sample across on all 16 pads. ***As you get better at the chopping and stuff, you could start employing different chop techniques... let's say you still have that 4 bar loop. Instead of multiplying 4 (bars) by 4 (beats), you could MANUALLY adjust your chop zones (or whatever its called in Maschine)to chop it as if you were working with a 2 bar loop instead of 4. So we know 2 (bars) × 4 (bars)= 8. So instead of being spread on all 16 pads, it is now only on 8 pads. With that, each pad will now consist of two beats instead of one beat as with the first example. The possibilities are endless. Its really simple, but VERY,VERY useful. Once you wrap your head around this concept I PROMISE that your sampled beats will step up quite a bit. AG is a beast and WE should be very greatful for the REAL KNOWLEDGE he keeps hitting us with. I hope I explained this well, but if not yall can ask questions and I'll get back at cha. PEACE. IsshmanGarcia GKMG2015
+Isshman Garcia hey man, what if my problem is I literally can't make the perfect loop. is there any secret to trimming it so it loops perfect? i just haven't been able to get it
I'm pretty sure there is a way to do it using the beat slice, but typically you find your one 4 bar sample, use the edit function in Sampling mode to find the first start and end point for the first quarter note on the first pad, then duplicate to second pad, adjust start and end for second quarter, and so on and so forth for the rest of the pads...lengthy process sometimes, but ensures you get EXACTLY the amount of sample for each quarter note you want...
Fam I been having an issue trying to figure out how to record a movie klip to use an intro to a song I wana know how can I sample the klip with out having to chop it so it will play straight thru when I chop it I can hear the choke from each pad as I hit it? Thanks for your help in advance fam .
i just ordered this, as well as a korg midi keyboard. is there a specific software you would recommend outside of the software that comes with the maschine? something i can integrate both the maschine and keyboard with?
About a minute in to the video he said you have to make sure the sample is a even four bars. once you hit the sample option and slice selection it should do it for you automatically. The key to it is making sure the sample is Four Bars I'm assuming
Need to know the correct set up as far as sampling from the computer or TH-cam when I'm hooked up thunderbolt. I do have a 2 channel focusrite. HELP PLEASE!
most folks need the beginning steps of how you got the sample in there .. those little steps are what beginners want to know because that's where everyone is getting stuck. after you get the sample in, those next steps. if you can show that, that would help a lot more. good vid though.
You don't have to do it like this but it is easier. I like to load up an entire song and select pieces from different parts of it and then drag em to the numbered slots on the left.
In the software where you load the sample hit edit sample it looks like a little squiggly line off to the left. You hit splice and kinda just separate the four bars and that’s it.
i must have missed that too.. did not see the step that got us there! Great vid tho, thanks.. i still have my older Maschine so dig these tutorial on the original Maschine. well done!
can anybody here help me with actually recording a sample. I got a sample loaded in an chopped up onto 16 pads. But when i press record an play 4 bars it doesnt record the sample? .......anybody?
Ok so my question is, what if you wand to use two separate parts of the sample, for example a section of the intro and a section of the bridge? So far all I'm seeing is is one section being worked on, and even further what is you want the different points of your sample to have different effects in one beat without affecting the first?
you apply the same technique, man.. it's multiplication. as long as you know how many bars your sample is, you either divide that number by 4 or 2 (preference) and that's how many slices you need..
In my opinion one of the simplest and well explained tutorials here when it comes to sampling. Not only for Maschine.
said the same thing, i was like i wish this was the first video i saw 9 years ago lol
pro trick : you can watch movies on flixzone. Me and my gf have been using it for watching all kinds of movies lately.
@Milan Omari definitely, I have been watching on flixzone for months myself :D

***** Thanks for this explanation. I understood the video, but your example of adjusting the chop zones was very helpful too!
No doubt!
+Isshman Garcia hey man, what if my problem is I literally can't make the perfect loop. is there any secret to trimming it so it loops perfect? i just haven't been able to get it
Practicing my friend or buy pre made loops. Sorry no shortcuts for that!

really amazing! your tutorial was very helpful! but where is that sample from?
Just got a Maschine the other day and this video is so useful. Thx Brother!!
Well done Bruh! I appreciate how you explain your work flow in detail in your videos. Gonna hit replay to watch again then jump on my Maschine! 😎
this is dope man! can you make a tutorial on how to take out the drums or vocals on a sample ??? thanks man!
like the video but what you didn't show was how did you chop the sample up ..did you use auto chop or did you manually do it
This actually helped me out !
Props man, and keep up the good work.
Understood it, and loved it...one of my fav tutorials:)! Thanx and God bless U!
How did you get that sample in the Maschine? How did you slice it up into 16 equal slices? What are you doing to count out to get the temple up, 2:10?
Great tutorial bro, thanks for the information! I'm about to purchase a maschine so this definitely was needed!
This was really helpfull to understand the basic idea of using sampler.. thank u.

hi man i wanna know how to have those knocking kicks with maschine?
you totally went from having a loop to all of a sudden having all of them layed out.. how did u spread them evenly.. u kinda missed that step?
About a minute in to the video he said you have to make sure the sample is a even four bars. once you hit the sample option and slice selection it should do it for you automatically. The key to it is making sure the sample is Four Bars I'm assuming
Once you have your sixteen slices, how do you record the samples over the drum beat? i'm confused
I'm having the same issue. Have you figured out how to do this yet?
Are you in separate groups?
yeah you just have to apply the slice to the group or another group so it's a separate patterns
having issues with noise when i normalize my samples. any suggestions to fix this??
Need to know the correct set up as far as sampling from the computer or TH-cam when I'm hooked up thunderbolt. I do have a 2 channel focusrite. HELP PLEASE!
This helped so much with my beats. Thanks
good look bro. i'm bout to cop one of these definitely was curious about sampling
Well this video convinced me to get one of these.
most folks need the beginning steps of how you got the sample in there .. those little steps are what beginners want to know because that's where everyone is getting stuck. after you get the sample in, those next steps. if you can show that, that would help a lot more. good vid though.
was the original track of this sample???
Thank you. This tutorial is GOLD!
whats that noise before you recorded your drums?
How to chop the samples though ... and what all do i need to get started? ???
Really smart and easy technique.

I have seen Ur Vid..This Is Realy Nice
U Explain Very Good Keep Up Men
where can I get one of these machines?
Great vid but a few important steps were edited out--like how to chop up the sample & assign to the pads
enjoyed that bro. well put together.
but how did you slice it up into 16 pieces. when I play my samples they just play over top of each other
Nice Tutorial 🔥
what is the song in the beginning
Great video thanks
Thank you. Much love
You don't have to do it like this but it is easier. I like to load up an entire song and select pieces from different parts of it and then drag em to the numbered slots on the left.
how do u get the sample to 4 a four bar pattern
educational indeed, nicely done
Omg dude thank u Man U help my issue with samples so much appreciated
how do you change the bpm in a sample with out changing the whole tracks bpm?
When did he slice the sample into 16 parts? Did I miss something.
Right. This is the part I need to know.
In the software where you load the sample hit edit sample it looks like a little squiggly line off to the left. You hit splice and kinda just separate the four bars and that’s it.
Whats that sample you used?
Great Tutorial Man
Wich sampling mode are you using? I mean that the sample starts again when you tap it
you gotta make the polyphony 1 to get this effect.
Thanks!
+Schinkenrecords no problem.
i chop my stuff way different but i like this approach
Great vid, bro. I subbed.
Ok, so how do u chop them in to quarter notes? Did u do it manually or mashine automatically does it?
i must have missed that too.. did not see the step that got us there! Great vid tho, thanks.. i still have my older Maschine so dig these tutorial on the original Maschine. well done!
