1. count the bars of your sample 2. make a loop of the bars you want to see if you truncate it correctly 3. truncate 4. tap to know the bpm of the sample and check it by playing it with the metronome on 5. turn off autodetect and put the bpm that you've found 6. stretch the sample 7. slice it sorry for the bad english, i'm italian
and this is the reason why i got the maschine... but i didnt really get the process until you explained it. plus you have the mk2, the same model i have! dude, thank you so much!!
yeah, you nailed this tutorial. Shift mute IS a game changer, I second that. Had maschine for a grip now and never fully understood timestretch until this vid. Good looks my dude
great video bro. you actually show step by step easy to follow instructions. i kept hitting a break wall with a few things and you cleared that up like 0 to 100 real quick. lol. Salute!
Great Video Brother... i been at this Mashing for some years now and i still watch other's videos... every one do things their own way.... salute to you for helping out the future Maschine Masters
You don't understand what this vid had done for me! I could ALWAYS chop Manually, YET when I went to usethe slice option, I would do everything correct (or so I thought) & when I applied it, it would come out skipping, especially towards the end of the sample. It has been frustrating the LIVING ISH out of me! I appreciate this, a 1000 fold my friend.
very good vid. I just wanted to find a video that would help me loop a sample for 4 bars during the recording process so I could lay drums to it but this is more like for chopping up a 4 bar loop, making your own pattern, than adding whatever to it. You got right to the point. Ive seen other guys do it but they weren't as straight forward. I'll be using this method from here on out
Elite Beats - | Hip Hop Instrumentals | Rap Beats I want the studio , sometimes i have to pump my own brakes , just thinking to myself , " My MK2 does everything the studio does , just makes life easier". what do you think of it?
@grundyman26 what if you did all this right then chopped up your sample but then decided you wanted a different tempo, then would you have to restart the entire process or just stretch your slices to a different tempo? thats a lot of work. or what if you then decided to change the pitch. same process? I like this tutorial but my mind is all over the place with questions. get back
William Mangus I’ve had that happen; the easiest way I found to handle that was to resample. It should be simple from that point , cause you for sure know the tempo at that point
having a killer of a time on this MKII trying to time stretch my sample from TH-cam. I keep changing the BPM and apply, but it doesn't seem to change the Bpm at all in the software.
are you changing the tempo of the project as well? ie, if you change the sample to 78bpm, the tempo of the track must be 78bpm also , use you tap tempo first to get a feel of what the sample is , the fine tune the bpm to get the exact tempo don't change the tempo to drastically though , its gonna just sound weird
This is great, you planning on releasing any other content similar to this? Not too many Maschine tutorials out there that explain it as clearly as you do
MT Prxphet I originally made this just to help someone out , and figured , since I already made it , it could help others and posted it. When I first started making beats, this was my major handicap, I don’t know what else people were stuck with.
Great tutorial man, but it's honestly so wack that in maschine you have to do this whole science project while in FL Studio it automatically time stretches your loops to fit your desired bpm. One of the many reasons why I'm switching daws.
@@grundyman26 ok...so if the vocal is naturally 79 bpm and the beat is 125 How do i get that axapella to stay in time without it sounding chipmunky? Will it just speed up and still sound natural?

What is the difference between doing that and stretching? Does stretching change pitch at all? If not, how does it manage to make it match the desired BPM? Thanks in advance!

This video is old af but still I find it to be one of the most helpful sampling/timestretch tutorial out here. Thanks a lot man!
M9 I’m happy it helped, I struggled with time stretching for a long time, I couldn’t find any help
man this video helped me out sooo much thanks a lot...4 years later since you uploaded it
Happy to hear ; I struggled so much when I started and no one made anything like this. So I figured I'd help someone else
Not the most perfect tutorial, but you had explain everything very clearly.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge
yeah I know , sorry about that . It was intended for for a personal friend , when i finished it , i just figured , Why not post it for the public ?

InfectiousWords happy to hear , I have to update , the software has changed so much
that was smart i never thought u could sample like that i always did my sample then did my drums but i thank that is much easier
nice vid, i been trying to figure out how to work that loop feat. man you saved me a lot of time....
its in the sampling section, on the right screen , you'll see truncate by default , hit the 7 or 8 button right above the screen until you see stretch
Cool I never did it that way I always let time stretch do all the work for me. Nice video playa.
That still sounds tight! lol I needed this video.
That beat is still good with one hand. You're timing is better than some.
Official Kon thanks kon!
Awesome tutorial thank you.

omg i need Maschine MK2. Those button clicks.
Lol, I never had the MK1to compare it to
Essentially the same thing, but the buttons feel so mushy in comparison.

Not yet. Wish i was.

exactly what i was looking for. thanks!

set the polyphony to 1 and if that doesnt do it look up a tutorial on using choke groups.
thanks

do you know how to do this on maschine mikro mk1? I don’t have that button that allows you to delete the rest.

Jmc1285 Maschine auto stretch as well. I would never use auto stretch on everything though
i still refer to this vid lol this is gold bro
William Mangus good looking. Took me an eternity to figure that out
This video is so useful thank you!
RTMUSIQ you’re welcome , happy it helps
LOVE YOUR VOICE!!!!!!!
Logic Pro and Battery 4 seem be getting on well here. Battery 4 Timestretching is easy as turning knob. How it should be in real time.
where can i go to buy more sounds?
wow man thank you soooo much!!!!!! Best Video!!!!!
nope. all i see is truncate, norm, reverse, fade in, fade out, dc fix, silence, cut, copy, paste, dupl,
do i need 1.8?
Thanks man, finally got it! Subscribed too ;)
Much APPRECIATED!
i follow you up until when you go back to sampling, and hit stretch. where is that function at?
Does it affect vocals when you do that? Like do they sound chipmunky if i wanna use a sample thats 79 bpm and want to use it for a 125 bpm??
Lee H only if you adjust the pitch
@@grundyman26 ok...so if the vocal is naturally 79 bpm and the beat is 125
How do i get that axapella to stay in time without it sounding chipmunky?

Lee H just don’t touch the pitch, it’ll remain the same. 75 - 125 is a little drastic though , especially if there’s vocals in there.
@@grundyman26 thanks for the insight bro

Does it automatically update the software to 2.10 do ya know?

Apprecite this!!
"Wack-ass beat, but I think you get the point." LMAO!
very helpful man thank you
very nice work Bro!
Do I need the MK2 to use this feature case I dont see it?
I got a question. why did you bump it up to 85 bpm when you guessed it being around 79? just preference or ?
Im assuming it was just for example purposes...I just change the source to exactly what I calculated it as being so it matches...just asking. thanks again for the vid. I need a record player so I can sample externally. any suggestions as far as brands are concerned? I had a cheap one back in the day but I got rid of it...
William Mangus the title says it all, 79 bpm is a lil too slow for a hip hop song , so i need to stretch it
hey bro why doesnt mine loop on adsr?
what song are your using?
BUT FOR THE EXACT TEMPO ..AFTER YOU TRUNCATED IT. YOU COULD HAVE WENT BACK INTO SAMPLE, HIT SLICE AND IT WOULD HAVE TOLD TOU THE EXACT TEMPO..THEN YOU COULD HAVE JUST CHANGED YOUR TEMPO AND EVERYTHING WOULD'VE MATCHED...STILL DOPE TUTORIAL.
just saved me having to watch this slow ass video cheers
i see bro good video i subbed
Is this method the same for mikro
Jason Simmons it is , with the software updates over the years, something have changed a little ( just moved around a bit)
Muchas gracias!
