    1. count the bars of your sample
    2. make a loop of the bars you want to see if you truncate it correctly
    3. truncate
    4. tap to know the bpm of the sample and check it by playing it with the metronome on
    5. turn off autodetect and put the bpm that you've found
    6. stretch the sample
    7. slice it
    sorry for the bad english, i'm italian

    You don't understand what this vid had done for me! I could ALWAYS chop Manually, YET when I went to usethe slice option, I would do everything correct (or so I thought) & when I applied it, it would come out skipping, especially towards the end of the sample. It has been frustrating the LIVING ISH out of me! I appreciate this, a 1000 fold my friend.

    very good vid. I just wanted to find a video that would help me loop a sample for 4 bars during the recording process so I could lay drums to it but this is more like for chopping up a 4 bar loop, making your own pattern, than adding whatever to it. You got right to the point. Ive seen other guys do it but they weren't as straight forward. I'll be using this method from here on out

    @grundyman26 what if you did all this right then chopped up your sample but then decided you wanted a different tempo, then would you have to restart the entire process or just stretch your slices to a different tempo? thats a lot of work. or what if you then decided to change the pitch. same process? I like this tutorial but my mind is all over the place with questions. get back

    • @grundyman26
      @grundyman26  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      William Mangus I’ve had that happen; the easiest way I found to handle that was to resample. It should be simple from that point , cause you for sure know the tempo at that point

    having a killer of a time on this MKII trying to time stretch my sample from TH-cam. I keep changing the BPM and apply, but it doesn't seem to change the Bpm at all in the software.

    • @grundyman26
      @grundyman26  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      are you changing the tempo of the project as well? ie, if you change the sample to 78bpm, the tempo of the track must be 78bpm
      also , use you tap tempo first to get a feel of what the sample is , the fine tune the bpm to get the exact tempo
      don't change the tempo to drastically though , its gonna just sound weird

    Great tutorial man, but it's honestly so wack that in maschine you have to do this whole science project while in FL Studio it automatically time stretches your loops to fit your desired bpm. One of the many reasons why I'm switching daws.

    • @leehalloran
      @leehalloran 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@grundyman26 ok...so if the vocal is naturally 79 bpm and the beat is 125
      How do i get that axapella to stay in time without it sounding chipmunky?
      Will it just speed up and still sound natural?

    • @grundyman26
      @grundyman26  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lee H just don’t touch the pitch, it’ll remain the same. 75 - 125 is a little drastic though , especially if there’s vocals in there.

    hey man, really helpful video but I have a question. So when I sample, I usually just change the pitch of the sample to match whatever bpm I want to make the beat in. What is the difference between doing that and stretching? Does stretching change pitch at all? If not, how does it manage to make it match the desired BPM? Thanks in advance!

    It not was real l'y tight..its not a good way to make sampling...you van have betterave résultats in usine cubase ,cut your sample ,export it and after you Will be sure abouth the tempo..or may be in maschine it have another way to do it but its the méthode of akai old sampler use..with the number at Begnins and th number at the end..
    Its finish this Time ...cubase,nuendo,wave lab,pro tools are betterave way to make real l'y good sampling ...but the hop hop its not rare to ear un tight beat and un tight sample..its because this would miss some things...play music...i ma a drummer since 25 years on real drum and i Also be a sound ingeneer diplômed and i a pro in all midi composition and work..for like sync a movies with music and work with tape recorder sync with à computer or just sync a vidéo player with pro tools with frames..
    I use computer to make music since 1998 ans i Stuart with a Pentium 233 mhz with 32 mg of ram...that you have to work hard to have résults..or in 2000 when i use acid with Only 8 track you have to bounce track to make a songs..i have learn à lost like this..
    Today with all my 4 computer quad core and 8 gig of ram and my macpro with 8 core and 32 gig ram 3extern hard disk and 1 of 1000 gig of intern hard disk it whas a joke..
    Wave complete Bundel at 10 000$ it was a very good stuff..so good luck and try to work more with a click track before cut your sample..or use cubase with the tools make exclu for that its the betterave way...i work in 192 kHz 24 bit and its précise and sound greath.
    Export the sample ,use it in maschine and it was very perfect..ans you van use tic in cubase if you prefer to have less tightness or shuffle its the betterave way...
