What a farce. My £650 car did 1,426 miles in 4 1/2 days last week; it required 3 visits to a petrol station, taking about 5 minutes each time. If you've got 200 miles to do, you don't want to spend an hour or more sightseeing the inside of a Tesco store while your car acquires 30 more miles of range: That's a situation that defines "not fit for purpose".

    • @zeejimi4044
      @zeejimi4044 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

Yep - under the present circumstances, EVs are really not fit for purpose. High cost of the EV itself, low range, high depreciation, sparse charging network, high cost of charging externally, questionable longevity of the battery.. all these factors make EVs completely uninteresting for private ownership. EVs are mostly leased by companies, rather than being bought by private persons. Companies can write off the costs much better than a private person can, and they obviously don’t need to care about the longevity of the car/battery when the leasing contract lasts only 3 or 4 years..🚗⚡️👎

I have a BMW 440d. It does 64mpg on a run, never does less than 50mpg even around the valleys. It has a range of over 600 miles. It takes around 5 minutes to charge up with diesel and I dont spend my life savings on snacks in service stations or the like as I just keep on trucking. No range anxiety either. I could do without the stress of an EV. They are the biggest motoring scam in history.

After 20 plus years of running a 1999 astra diesel van I was forced to buy another vehicle because of ulez and also the engine on the van gave out and it was scrapped. many people told me to but an EV van, so I thought about it a while, AND I eventually bought a lovely Skoda estate 1.4 tsi petrol car. WEll the car is fantastic, great range about 300 on a tank costs about 66 quid, and I always carry 5 0r 10l in cans for work anyway. I am SO SO SO glad I did not buy an EV, it would have been a nightmare. I clock all the ev charging station where I live and they are normally all full with tom dick and harry charging up. Takes me 4 or 5 mins to fill with petrol and I get Nectar points as well !
Have fun waiting for a spare ev charging station. Kind Regards Graham Tarling.

    It's utter stupidity.
Also the carbon footprint of extracting the lithium and other metals needed to make the batteries are horrendous. Meaning they are awful for the environment. Similar to when ethanol was added to gasoline (petrol) to be more green. Turns out ethanol is more harmful to the environment than petrol is. Similar situation with electric vehicles, your not helping the environment, your making the rich richer

I bought an EV three months ago and it has truly been a nightmare. There is not enough information about the truth of owning an EV, such as the necessity of owning your own home so you can install a Level 2 charger, the fear of going on any kind of trip with the uncertainty of not being sure where chargers are reliably available as well as the fast use of charge when driving. I like to use my heater, my car app. And sometimes even the massager on my seat, and all that will use battery charge. I bought a Tesla adapter for my car in case I’m in a position that the charger I need will not be available. It is never easy to just charge and go, owning an EV is NOTHING like going to a gas station and filling up.

I've been driving an ev for aboitv2byears as a personal car and 4 years delivering them all over the country to people that have brought/leased them. I have never had an issue charging. For my own car I charge at home about times a week (60 mile round trip to work!) Because that's all I need to do. When my partner and I go on holiday in the UK we go in my EV rather than her mini and even on 5hr trips to Cornwall (we live 30 miles north of London) I've never had a problem, I plan any long trips which takes 5 mins and always make sure I have a back up charger to stop at if the first one is broken. The stops are alway welcome anyway for a toilet break and a coffee so it really isn't a big deal. Also when we get where we are staying 99% of the time if its a hotel they will have chargers available or will let u plug in the granny (very slow) charger so I genuinely believ e that most videos like this are exaggerated to make EVs look bad. Yes I agree if you can't charge at home then I certainly wouldn't have one, but if u can they really are a no brained... its saved me around £100+ a week on fuel and that's not to be sniffed at plus my insurance went down by severl hundred pounds not to mention no road tax... why wouldn't I have one in that situation?

I am a mechanic. An industrial mechanic. I work on electric machines all day long. I have worked on golf carts, and many of the electric fork lifts and lifts of different kinds, they are all the same concept. In an enclosed area you can't run propane or diesel machines without the exact proper ventilation, so many of the heavy lifting machine are electric. They are basically huge batteries with a motor and an hydraulic pump. Logistically, the same as an EV. I had listened to all of the hype about EV's in the past, about how the "major car companies killed" the EV. They don't kill it, it was a suicide. The concept has been around for well over 100 years. Tesla, (the REAL Tesla the actual genius) invented the induction motor in 1887, so the tech was around and it was the first form of engine that was considered for what eventually became cars. The limitations are the same today as they were then, batteries stink! They are getting better, but hey are still limited. How do you get them to last longer? You make them bigger. Sorry, that's the answer. And yeah, sodium, blah blah blah, rust, blah blah blah, they are all limited and very expensive! They are limited in what they can and cannot do. The are limited by temperature. They are limited by size and weight. They are big, and the power does not last long. EV's are not the solution to a problem. They are an entirely new, bunch of problems. Best of luck to all of you out there that just can't stand the truth, because it will cost you!

It's ridiculous having to keep constant tabs on how much charge youve got left not to mention having to sign up to different websites to use the charging points, how the charging points are out of action, downloading different apps and the fact that you're hanging around petrol stations for hours waiting for the EV to charge up. I'd feel as though i'd just want to leave the sodding EV and let someone else have the bloody thing for free lol.

The running of an EV is a problem that will only get worse as more people buy them. However I think the main problem is that very few people will be able to afford one and the worry of battery replacement price will put off the second hand buyers. So in my opinion EV cars are a way of getting the poorer motorists off the roads making for a better driving experience for the more well off car owners. You don’t hear anything about Bio diesel anymore because they can’t tax used vegetable oil.

Don't forget to take all the books of Gibbon's "Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire" along in your car. You'll spend hours waiting in line to finally get a charging station, then wait for the little electrons to find their way from a main power plant through all the distribution wiring until it finally reaches your car. When the electrons have finally found your EV then start reading Chapter 1 of Gibbon's books. I know that they are all very long books, but don't worry, you'll spend enough hours charging your EV, so that you will be able to finish them. Then you might want to start with Book 1 of the Encyclopedia Britannica.

The future is this: New combustion tech that has...
6000 mile range on 60 gallons of Ethanol (E100), 100 MPG HWY, 170 MPG City.
or 8400 miles on gasoline, 140 MPG HWY, 210 City.
95-100% brake recovery. Three pedals. 1 gas, 1 friction brake, 1 compressor braking (recovery).
Engine system captures CO2 (and water) to recycle back into fuel at home for ~$1/gallon.
Car is a heat pump of sorts that can torque a wheel. COP 4. That means you can have 4 units of heat for every unit of input fuel. 1 gal Ethanol (25 kwh) = 100 kwh of heating. Use engine in house system (not part of car) and cut Nat Gas bill by 75% without any solar thermal or PV. Add in solar thermal and fuel making and you are independent from grid and big oil. No way with Electric junk due to battery costs.
No drive battery or electric drive motor needed, but can run on electricity via thermal cycle of this new combustion engine.
The CO2 for RE fuel = 1% of gasoline and 200 times less than EV on 100% RE. Basically, an EV is 300 gCO2/kwh for battery use and 300 for 100% RE grid for a total of 600 gCO2/kwh. Combustion of RE fuel has zero battery and 3 gCO2/kwh for fuel making machines and house engine system. 600/3=200 times MORE CO2 for EV. Game over folks...
Combustion Fire risk. The captured CO2 and water in the car puts out a car fire. Yes, the car puts out its own fire automatically via the crash system. The engine also supplies the compressed air for the airbags/crash protection without use of nasty chemicals like Sodium Azide.
EV fire risk is unstoppable. YOU DIE if you can't get out, with NO way to stop the fire. A friend of mine recently was MURDERED by a Tesla fire...burned to carbon black.
New Combustion Tech lasts 60 years and 900,000 miles, and can be serviced by an 83 IQ person (minimum the military requires). EVs? LOL...Like servicing a cell phone. No chance...or costly beyond insanity.
So, there you have it. The future is combustion and RE fuels. Old ICE cars can run on RE fuels while using 4x more energy and still 2.2 times less CO2 than an EV in life cycle.
EVs are OBSOLETE. BTW, yes, 0-60 in 2-3 seconds for all vehicles...
