    Nice set up! Super clean. Thanks for sharing. It’s really interesting to see other set ups. Very helpful! I am using a cloudburst and an older v2 Revelation at the moment too. I’ve been using a HX effects as a midi controller for wet effects and been happy other than the size. I preordered the Jet Unity 6. Hoping to post the new set up after that gets here. Great content. Keep it up!

    Great build and tones. I wish I could find someone at a reasonable price to build a board myself. I’m using an all in one modeler now for simplicity. I’m using a headrush prime now but looking to get back to the fractal world with the FM3 .. the prime is a beast to lug around and although a great value ongoing support with updates and engagement with their user community has been lacking. Another alternative would be a hybrid board with Tonex for amps and perhaps a line6 or other small modeler that can change settings on the Tonex via midi. Enough about my journey… well done on the video! Thanks

      Hi @joemiller9856, I'm using a FM3 Turbo with some of my favorite pedals and love it. I'm running a Strymon Cloudburst through the loop to save a ton of CPU. I run a POG & Carbon X in front and I'm done. It's easy to tweak my verb and gains on stage and I still get all the amps, cabs, delays and modulations from the FM3. Hope this helps!

      @@20weststudio - Thanks, Joe Miller here from my TH-cam Channel. I ended up buying a FM3 Turbo also and it's great. I have an expression pedal assigned to the wet effects and one for volume. I'm using an Andy Timmons style preset built by @johnnathancordy most of the time these days. Very flexibille!

    I had a similar issue with noise and my strymon pedals with midi using trs. The fix for me was to use a solderless or soldered ts cable but disconnect the ground on one side. The strymon in particular only uses the tip to receive midi commands, so the ring and sleeve are not needed. Hope this helps!

    Sounds good! Picked up a Bridge4 last year and love it. I also have a Duo24 and ran into the same cable issues.. you've managed to make yours look cleaner than mine haha.

      Thanks man! Yea - I like the board but was surprise that I couldn't fit some cables through there. Underneath the board is kind of a mess 😂. I didn't try to clean up the cables underneath just because I like to change things up so often.

    1. Strymon pedals can cause MIDI ground-loops - Morningstar mentions it in their manuals. Strymon sells those filtered MIDI cables (expensive...) which should address these issues.
    2. Are all your pedals on separate power outlets? If you daisy chain some which are connected by MIDI it can go crazy with noise.

    • @sundaytone
      @sundaytone  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yea I have seen those Strymon cables. I haven't tried one yet though. And the only pedal that is daisy chained is the compressor off of the tuner. Everything else is on separate power from the DC7.

    Hey man! I experienced the same issues. I found that it was actually the junction box coupled with sending midi clock. Try plugging straight into your pedals and then straight from the jet to your amps (amp sims). It should go away. I tried different midi cables, junction boxes, etc. Think those junction boxes need to be buffered to curb that midi clock noise.

    • @sundaytone
      @sundaytone  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Oh I didn't think to try that. I'll have to see if that fixes it - thanks!

    I recently built a midi board like yours and I am having noise issues as well. I think my issue is mostly related to my H9. Still troubleshooting, but running into my UA Ruby, things get pretty noisy… changes coming. Great video!

    • @sundaytone
      @sundaytone  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you! Yea - I only get the noise sometimes which is frustrating. A few times it has been so bad I had to just unplug the midi cables going into my Cloudburst and Revelation and use those without midi running to them for the set.

      @@sundaytone If you have lights on a dimmer on the same circuit you're plugging into, or are setting up at a desk with a computer w/lots of extra electrical activity going on, it could def exacerbate the noise issue. I'm constantly battling this in my home studio too and it can be frustrating!

    Hey. Love the channel!
    I really liked your GFI synthesia video, it sounded good, but I see you’ve gone for the HX one for your modulation. Could I trouble you for your thinking on why you went that way? Was it the extra delay option? Are the modulations better sounding in either?
    Keep up the good work!
    Thanks in advance!

    • @sundaytone
      @sundaytone  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Good question - they both sound really good. I just went with the HX One because of the variety of effects it has. I also wanted a second delay and the HX One has a ton to pick from.

    Hi, with your 2 tonex, is the diso polrev a necessity? Or would your walrus canvas stereo be able to do the job as well?
    Saw you were using wt ac30 and wt matchless, do those captures have phase issues?
    Thankyou.
    I always enjoy your content😁

    • @sundaytone
      @sundaytone  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's not a necessity but it's the best option for me. The WT AC30 and Matchless Clubman I use a lot don't have phase issues. So for those the Canvas would work. There are other amp combos I use where having the ability to flip the polarity is useful. It just opens a wider range of captures that you can use together but you can certainly find ones that are in phase.

    I, too, had midi issues with jet pedals. Eternity would NOT sync to midi clock being transmitted to it, although only sporadically. But enough to make it unpredictable and ultimately unusable for me.

    • @sundaytone
      @sundaytone  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I feel like midi can definitely be unpredictable. I had an issue like that where the HX One wouldn't pass the midi clock to the next pedal and I spent a bunch of time trying to figure out what I did wrong. Eventually I realized Line 6 had an update for the HX One that solved the issue for me.

    I thought that the right side of the Carbon X was intended to be the higher gain side. I mean, to each his own. “Stripping the right side of some of its sheen and headroom, we unleashed its grittier, raw essence and added a touch of sag, letting it unleash its barbaric yawp into the world of tonal richness.”
