Dude, I am super exited to play this board, I’m actually on guitar this weekend but probably won’t learn the board by Sunday! Thank you brother for building this massive beast of a board!
What an incredible video. Amazing that the client Jimmy is building this for is gifting it to another person. Great sounds, great video, great service and final product! So blessed and honored to be a part of this!
So, a cople of recommendations from a guy who's been buildiing boards for quite some time. 1. On bigger pedals, you only need about a 1 inch square of dual lock set by the corners of the pedal. Dual lock is quite expensive, and quite strong as well. It'll be pretty hard to get those pedals off the board if ever needed to come off due to not having enough access underneath from it going clear across. Just having it at the corners allows you enough room to get a plastic crow bar under, and will allow you to have enough force to pop it up. 2. If the dual lock, (or velcro) is going to be placed over labels or pertinent info on the underside of the pedal, cover the label/info with painters tape first, then apply dual lock. 3. Place dual lock under/above/inside any screws in case the pedal needs to be opened in the future. I use the HX One for the Poly Capo as well. It is such a dsp hungry block. First in the chain. Board sounds great!! I'm sure the owner will be greatly pleased.
I love the canvas. the line isolator setting brings out the tone of the stomp or any other modeller better than any other DI I tried through the years.
Man I wish I could have won that board! Looks and sounds amazing! I sadly had to sell my board for some doctor bills a year ago and I miss playing guitar with my helix floor,
Huuuuuuuuuuge fan of Walrus’s Lore in worship setting. I’ve had mine for about 6 months now and it’s incredible!!! Currently use it for really thick stuff or to mimic a pad when we don’t have a pads player.
I just built a Strymon midnight board with an Hx stomp xl controlling via midi. Pedals are compadre> riverside> deco> Hx stomp xl - fx loop> mobius> timeline> bigsky.
Hey Jimmy, you should break ground on the Zoom MS50G+. No one in the p&w sphere has covered it yet but you can think of it like a HX One that only costs $129.
Hey Jimmy, just to let you know that Rockboard supplies a 'Drawer' mod bay so you can store picks and capos and stuff on your board. I have only seen it in Australia and I haven't seen it many places online, but I think it does exist.
Excellent video, length and editing were great. If you have the footage, I’d love to see more playing of the finished board in a 2nd video! Blessings brother
That MIDI/looper seems to be adding little to no additional functionality in this setup… Loop(s) always on so no signal path benefit, foot switch spacing is worse, just taking up space and making the board bigger. Seems like could’ve done snapshots on HX itself and bypass loop pedals directly.
Shame the bottom row stuck over the edge - could you not squidge them up a bit? I have the rockboard Quad 4.3 - so 'just' 2 rows, but everything fits on the footprint. Also, I would have certainly put the the time based effects in the HX loop for a cleaner sound. But a nice inspiration vid. I like the MIDI stuff... I manage without, but I'm not playing live and only studio based. So yea, the MIDI looks supe useful for a live set. Cheers for sharing the build.
Thanks man! But the bottom row actually doesn’t stick over. I just had it slightly disconnected for the video because I was working on stuff but it moves back up.
Cool setup good job. Wonder if I have a friend like this lucky guy!?! Looks like the pancake on the right of the XL is pulled out a bit? Maybe seeing it wrong.
One of these days I want to try that vertex boost the way that vertex mentions using it with the volume pedal and with volume. Fading in both or something. Been a while since I watched that video.
Did you notice that the Strymon Bid Sky can use up 660mA? Those Strymon Power Supplies can produce up 500mA. Don't think that it is a match and will cause under-power situation.
Nice board, I have enjoyed the video. I have some questions: 1. Will this board be connected to an amp or directly to line input. 2. Is the total cost of this board (much) higher / lower than the Fractal FM9Turbo which I have) or the Helix? 3. Based on flexibility, would you still go with a board like this or choose the FM9 or Helix?
I especially like these style/build videos. In my opinion, your background music is a little distracting from your commentary and build shots. Would rather watch you work and passively learn. Just my two cents ✌🏽.
Must be nice to have all of the money to drop..I'm fighting week to week just to afford cables. Don't have a board yet...that board alone is $400+. Want to put mine together for free? Depressing.

It was a pleasure and I didn't want to let it go! haha

Oh my gosh. That much dual lock is crazy! Those pedals are NEVER leaving the board.
True...I was thinking about transportation too...but next time I'll def use less
Pedalnetics has a nice base for the Mission expression pedals that allow you to Dual Lock them onto a pedalboard
Yes! I have one on my board now!

Oh that’s interesting. I hadn’t heard of it yet. We’ll see if I get one.

oooo that's a cool idea...I'll have to try to find that!
I've had a Deputy on my board for 2 years now. Preston is a cool dude! He is in the same town my brother lives in, which was kinda cool for me lol
That’s awesome! I’m actually about to record some content with some of these giveaway items
Thanks for the support and kind words Josh! 208 strong!
"Depth...Girth....I don't know" had me rolling hahaha
hahaha...I never know those
I need that looper footswitch so bad!!!!
Worship clearly pays well!!
haha....well, tbh, I think the guy paying has a job outside of the church :)
Excellent video, length and editing were great. If you have the footage, I’d love to see more playing of the finished board in a 2nd video! Blessings brother
I wish I still had it here. I had to mail it off.
Just great!! wishing there were 2 tonex (Left n Right) on that amazing board!
Stayed tuned on the channel is all I’m gonna say :)
I did the same thing with my Mission expression pedal bottom plate. They should drill those holes deeper!
Yeah, something was funky about it
Awesome job Jimmy!
Thanks!

You did all the just to stick that little hx pedal. I wanna do that too.
The HX One is pretty nice

@@HeyWorshipLeader Ah! That explains it :)
That board needs to come with a little cart to haul it around.
true...cost a small fortune just to ship the thing
Amazing job, awesome board. Greeting from Brazil!! Love your videos.
Maybe walrus d1 and r1 demo with the hx stomp.
That would be cool. Now I just need to get them. Haha
what looper is that on the board? looks really practical!!
Cool setup good job. Wonder if I have a friend like this lucky guy!?! Looks like the pancake on the right of the XL is pulled out a bit? Maybe seeing it wrong.
It was! I fixed it tho. Good eye!
Don’t you love those people (me) who find the little annoying thing in the middle of all the awesome. Ha. Sorry. Great job bro.
One of these days I want to try that vertex boost the way that vertex mentions using it with the volume pedal and with volume. Fading in both or something. Been a while since I watched that video.
Can we see YOUR pedalboard somewhere? (current one :P )
It’s in the works!

From the Manual: POWER: Never plug into voltage higher than 9V DC. Requires at least 300mA of available current. 9V DC center negative polarity.
Nice board, I have enjoyed the video.
I have some questions:
1. Will this board be connected to an amp or directly to line input.
2. Is the total cost of this board (much) higher / lower than the Fractal FM9Turbo which I have) or the Helix?
3. Based on flexibility, would you still go with a board like this or choose the FM9 or Helix?
1. It'll be going direct out the front of the Rockboard Mod 3 V2
2. The cost was much higher than the Fractal FM9Turbo or HELIX.
Hey sorry if I missed it in the video, but what kind of patch was you running on the XL?
It was a preset I modified from my SUNDAY READY PACK (www.heyworshipleader.com/tone-match-or-expanse). I believe it was the HWL DBL VIBE
Does the Jackson Audio Bloom work well on bass. I want a compressor with a smaller footprint than my Miura M2
Can you do a review on Nux Mg 30🙌
I asked him to send me one a while back and they said not yet. But they just recently sent me some other stuff so maybe they can send me one soon
whats the need for the walrus DI box since the rockboard front panel has xlr outs? could you just use 1/4" to xlr cables to the mod box? thanks!
Since it's a di box, it has more features: Pad, Ground / Lift, Di / Line Iso Mode
Not trying to poo on anyone's creativity, but between the HXone and HX XL, wouldn't it have been easier to just get a Helix and be done with it?
Easier, absolutely. But the customer wasn’t going for easier
please i need a bigsky & timeline

Thanks for the kind words and for the positive critique!
Please produce a Helix patch package for workship music. Many people will purchase it.
