    I have owned a 4.0L XKR Coupe for the past 7 years - sensational car. Good showcase of this vehicle but a couple of minor things to correct. The centre of the badge has a Growler not a Leaper and the button near the shifter IS Cruise Control, it is not a speed limiter. If you set the cruise control and put your foot down the car will keep going faster. (The ultimate way to feel the power of this vehicle is to cruise along at about 15 mph and then hit the throttle hard. The trans will knock back into first and take off like a scalded cat. Love it.)

    • @ValEuroSport
      @ValEuroSport  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for your feedback. I agree with the growler. I used the 2 terms interchangeable, but you are correct. I have to disagree about the speed limiter. If the speed limiter is engaged (button is glowing a red light), cruise control will not operate, in the sense that it will not maintain the speed you set the "cruise control" at. This function will revert to normal once you deactivate the speed limiter. I haven't tried hitting the throttle hard yet, but I may try it one day...

    Great video, what a car. I was on the hunt for one of these cars (not the 100 special) but settled instead for a 99 XJR and I LOVE IT.
    Still look at XKRs with an eye to own one, but the XJR I found was as near mint as is possible here I the UK because of our climate, so I went for it over an XKR.
    The XKR has to be one of the most beautiful looking coupes ever built. At least I still have the same supercharged V8 in my XJR. She's a mean black beast with her blacked out windows. Thanks for sharing the beautiful XKR 100 👍

      Thank you for the kind words Bill. I still miss that XKR100! Drove it from Florida to North Carolina in 2 days and had LOADS of fun with it! Been scouring the country now for the last couple of years, trying to find another one like it.
      Your 99 XJR is an awesome cat too! I would much rather have your XJR than the one that came after it in 2004...

      Fair enough! I love the lines of the coupes more than the convertibles, but it has to have the right wheels (20" BBS). Anything less (for example 18" Hydra stock wheels) makes it look dorky. I do prefer the convertibles from a practical point of view, since I have an innate need for sun light, and really love to feel the wind in my hair ;-)

    I love this car ♥ What is the life of parts? Do many things break quickly?

    • @ValEuroSport
      @ValEuroSport  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They are very reliable since Ford owned Jaguar of this generation. Little things break, such as light bulbs burning out in the instrument cluster/climate control, seat modules need replacing (seat gets stuck in one position), door microswitches (window doesn't drop when closing the door), things of that nature. The worst thing that can happen is a burst convertible top line, resulting in a "green shower". It costs about $300 and your time to replace it (DIY project), or about $1200 if you hire the dealership.

      Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. My clients are split about even between pre and post facelift looks. I personally prefer the 05-06 body style.

    • @gf4353
      @gf4353 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, you are absolutely right.. the 05s started with scoops and vents etc. The 03s and 04s are 4.2 engines. They are pure form, like a series 1 E-Type. I have one of each and I just bought a Silver Stone that was on my bucket list for years. All are Roadsters, ideal for a single guy living in Ft. Lauderdale Florida.

    • @timberrr1126

      I will give you a critique. You may own a gimbal, but you should have used it when you walked up to the owner while he was standing near his front bumper.
      As for sound, the slightly aggressive beating or rhythm of the music is perfect. It mates with the spotty sun rays on the forest floor. However, when the owner was speaking about tech specs near the rear bumper, you changed the music, ok; but it was a tiny bit too high in volume. It distracted me and I lost a few words from him. Here is an example of “subliminal music” th-cam.com/video/atJ_gBadXp0/w-d-xo.html done well.
      Your framing and positions show you are a professional. Tweek these changes next time and you will have perfection!

    You don't have a non stubby side view until 13:03 when you can actually then and ony then see what the car actually looks like from the side --sleek and beautiful. You do try awful hard but you missed this HUGE imortant thng that really does a giant diservice to what you are showing. Sorry but I have an XKR and will be selling it at some point to buyers that will possibly end up watching your videos and I feel you'll hurt me and anyone else by potential buyers seeing these at least in this particular unsexy distorted images video . You have had some sweet xkr's and I know it is harder than it looks to put these together but I can't believe you think this is acceptable the way you carry on about the beauty of these cars? You had to have noticed this, no?

      Ha ha 380 bhp and red lined at 6750 rpm, plenty fast enough for a gorgeous grand tourer.. I had the soft top and all have adaptive suspension which is superbly comfortable and still gives you great road holding and so refined.

    You should find a fashion counselor. And stop wearing a Bluetooth headset, you look like a obnoxious bmw driver with that in your ear. There are more modern solutions like galaxy buds or earpods that doesn't look as douchy. Thanks for showing and talking about the car.

    • @ValEuroSport
      @ValEuroSport  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for your input :-) I treasure direct, unfiltered feedback that ultimately improves the quality and feel of my films. I happen to have a huge distaste for the cordless apple ipods I see TV personalities and pundits use. I think those look very DOUCHY :-)))). I do agree about the headset and will remember to remove it once it is no longer needed for the shoot.

    • @Exemplifiera
      @Exemplifiera 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ValEuroSport I'd have to agree on the apple airpods, they create an eyesore as well. Other ways to improve could be to use a gimbal for the camera you are recording with to improve stability. These range from 100-200$. I'm neither an expert or very educated about microphones but I do know the ones from RØDE are popular. They are about the same price as the gimbal.
      I enjoy seeing these beautiful cars in a summer/scenic setting, as I am living in a dark and gloomy part of the world during the winter months.

    • @Exemplifiera
