    What an exquisite colour combination! Hi again from the U.K. Valentin. You lucky guys in the USA get colours we just don’t get in the U.K.- I think this is the best looking XKR I have ever seen. Thanks for yet another brilliant video and all the care that went into the production values of the video. All the very best to you and wishing you luck for more. Cheers Nick

      Hi Nick,
      Thank you for your generosity. I wish you could share my videos and TH-cam channel with a few of your friends LOL. I am in dire need of more subscribers and more views. I noticed the more fun videos I post on TH-cam, the less response I get. That doesn't make much sense now, does it LOL ?

      @@ValEuroSport Gosh Val, it certainly does not make sense. I follow three Jaguar X100 TH-camrs here in the U.K. and they sometimes do joint shows together . I shall put it to them to reach out to you to see if you could do a joint USA/U.K. show. They are O&DR Modural, Car Crush U.K. and ToTheGarage. Best of luck and I hope they get in touch. Cheers Nick

      Hi Nick, thank you for introducing me to your fellow Jag gear heads. As it happens I am in Nice until the end of the month. Let me know if you are in the area, maybe we'll sit down for a coffee! On the other hand, I will have a full length video coming out this week with a comparison between 2 Maserati Granturismo cars: Sport Coupe, and MC Sport Line Coupe. You will find the sounds coming out of those cars amazing!

    It amazes me how this car maintains its beauty in this modern age, but then I suppose this was styled with at least one classic Jaguar in mind.

    • @ValEuroSport

      These cars still look fresh and classy. They don't seem to depreciate as I have been selling them at the same price for the last 10 years!

    • @marklowry8799
      @marklowry8799 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ValEuroSport It’s the same here in the U.K with regards to XK8 and XKR values. XK values are suffering the same depreciation though late XKR’s 2010 - 2014 are holding their money slightly better than their predecessors and I suspect they might not suffer the same fate. I’ve watched 80’s and early 90’s era Rolls Royce cars fetch the same money as any early XKR for the past 15 years, the only that seems to change is the mileage on some cars.

    I had a 2002 XKR soft top too. Absolutely loved it. Absolutely mint when I sold it too 380 bhp, adaptive suspension and that V8 red lined at 6750 rpm. WHAT A SIUND TRACK. SUPERB. I tried to tell everybody back then but no one listened. It truly is, an amazing good buy. And don't think you can own a complex piece of engineering and not look after it properly. Buy one that has been cherished and there are some out there. Wish more than any other car that I still owned it.

    • @ValEuroSport
      @ValEuroSport  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Brian,
      Your comment exemplifies a common theme we get from our Jaguar buyers: at some point in the past they owned a X100 convertible or coupe and for one reason or another they sold it. Years later, they realize how great of a car this was and then purchase a car from us that resembles the one they sold. I couldn't agree with you more about how superb these cars really are. We specialize in these cars so check out our website (valeurosport.com) and follow us on instagram (@valeurosport). We announce all new arrivals on instagram before posting them on the website.

  • @flyurway
    @flyurway 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have to agree. I have an '04 XKR conv and I love it. Rides nice, handles great, goes like hell, sounds awesome - especially with that supercharger whine and I put a Mina under-axle exhaust on it too - and it's just a looker! They're one of the most beautiful cars on the road. You see Camaro's, Mustangs, Challengers, Vette's all day long - and they're nice cars too - but pull up in the Jag and everybody looks, and asks. On top of all that, it get's about 30 mpg @65 mph!! Plus, you can buy these cars for nickels on the dollar. These were nearly $90,000 new and you can get a nice one now for around $15,000 with medium mileage. Drawbacks; can be bitchy to work on, they seem to like a lot of attention, way too many stupid electronics (modules) that like to foul up and they're not cheap. I have an '06 Chevy Avalanche, it has 4x the miles, has seen 14 NY winters now, I bust my balls maintaining it and not only is it still almost like new but EVERYTHING still works on it the way it left the factory ... it's really a better built vehicle, lol!

    • @ValEuroSport
      @ValEuroSport  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for your comments. I agree with you 100%! Would you believe me if I told you this generation Jags sell at higher prices than the newer gen that came after it (2007 and up)?

    • @flyurway
      @flyurway 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ValEuroSport Doesn't surprise me too much. The newer ones are even bitchier to work on, no more burl wood, the new 5.0 s/c puts out superb hp (sure would love to get 510 hp on mine!!), I hear they're even better drivers, but some of them have been having their issues and some are even back to having timing chain issues again! Trying to upgrade their entertainment systems and phone integration I guess is all sorts of fun too. Plus, they just don't have the XKE-ish lines to them that the X-100's do! Would love to drive an X-150 R but I won't part with my '04 XKR conv.

    I never really cared for red on cars - too much lipstick - but some cars like the Jag wear it well. The interior color (oatmeal?) isn't my first choice but not my last either. All in all, this car is still a pretty sharp color combo!

    I hope there's the wee screw in adapter, to pump those BBS 20" tires up, in the tool kit. I got caught out with my XKR, and had to import the adapter.

    Hello Valentin,
    Hope you're doing fine.
    I'm 26 and I want to buy my first car, a convertible one ( I am currently driving an old VW polo).
    I would like to know how much the maintenance of such car cost approximately. I live in Europe maybe it will be different. And can you fit winter/all seasons tires on it ? Here it's an obligation...
    thanks

      Hello,
      These Jaguars are golden. There is not much that goes wrong with them, aside from shock bushings, isolators, and an occasional replacement needed of convertible top lines, or rear (quarter) window regulators.

  • @Clarkecars
    @Clarkecars 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    The true purpose of the rear seat isn't so much for passengers but to reduce insurance cost. The cost of insuring a 2 seater is higher than a 4 seater in a similar type auto.

    Honest opinion. Sl55amg or xkr?

    • @ValEuroSport
      @ValEuroSport  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sl55 will be faster than the xkr. However, it will take more gas and will be less reliable than the xkr. Also, the xkr is more comfortable on a long trip than the sl55 by a long shot!

    • @ValEuroSport
      @ValEuroSport  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@ValEuroSport I drive Jags, my business partner drives Benzs. I spend relatively little on my cars. His SL550 has cost him at least $10K over the past 2 years in maintenance and repairs.

    • @tonybrown9875
      @tonybrown9875 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      SL55 is a joke. If you open the trunk on a wet day all the water runs into it, same if you put the top up or down. In the trunk there is the electrics with a second battery that will probably corrode or fry and you'll get all kinds of problems. The hydraulic roof is a pain and expensive to fix or replace. The XKR roof is much more simple, and new fabric roofs can be purchased relatively cheaply and fitted easily. XKR does not have air suspension, it has CATS, it's adaptive but will still work good even if that electric extra fails; keep some more money to replace the SL55 air suspension because it will fail eventually - very fragile engineering for the part of the car that endures the most impacts, doesn't work well. XKR is the most practical choice, looks the best, also has a back seat, cheaper to maintain and cheaper to buy.

  • @louisk6485
