    So the issue that I'm having with mine is it doesn't seem to be getting gas all the way to the intake manifold. Like I have feel pressure I can spray gas down the intake and keep it running and even when I have it running like that I could test the gas line and it sprays out gas so I know it's got gas but it's not like going all the way up to the head it's weird. I am going to attempt to try your method maybe it might help it and I'm going to go rent a fuel pump diagnostic kit thing of I guess I got to look up a video on how to even use that thing but this thing is pissing me off. Only taking off the throttle body and cleaned it I've changed the idle air control thing and the throttle position sensor and the fuel filter the pumps works I can hear it and I know it's pressurizing the gas lines but I don't know. For as electronic components goes that's about the extent of my understanding so far so I don't know what other kind of component might be able to per se affect that but I think I might have to get a new spider injectors

    Small world! I remember you from the Naud St days of the Cretins Clubhouse. I also have an Astro. 2004, 2wd.. wish I'd have held out for AWD.. but I got a good deal, and my old truck was on its last legs. FWIW- I used to have a shit-box Miata. Did a similar top end cleaning.. Used the Seafoam kit, and also water. Worked great, but all the gunk went straight to the CAT, and I had to replace it. That said, I probably overdid it. Smoked out the neighborhood. Neighbors were PISSED. On the upside: after that, and a basic tune-up/timing belt.. it ran like a top. Just had to replace the radiator on my Astro. I need to replace some vacuum lines, and the steering hydroboost just started leaking. Blue devil has that holding for now. As soon as I get a free weekend, knocking that out, along with a tune-up.

    You are a funny man Michael! Good info, looking forward to seeing if there is a mechanic out there that agrees / disagrees with you. What you say makes sense. My van has a bit of rough idle right now. Going to replace the plugs soon and see if that changes the picture. The plugs and plug wires were replaced by the previous owner 26,000 miles ago. I would like to pull the plugs just to see what they look like. By the way, Chevy wants $220 for new stock spark plug wires - pretty steep. Keeping the old ones in for now. I would prefer the AC Delco but going a step at a time.

      @Dan0rioN 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AstroVanTribe Yeah I'm sure, it was throwing like 3 codes & after I got the MAF in all codes are gone now.
      No, up until I heard about the reset I wasn't aware that would even be necessary but it's in the plans. Probably not even a big deal.
      Thing just needs some good cleaning/tune up being a 97 & ideally these rpms will go down & mpg go up after I get it done 👍

      @@AstroVanTribe I'm going to give the sea foam a shot on the astro. When I got it had code for maf. Changed air filter. Still code. Changed maf. Code went away but still stubles at highway speed uphill. Tried all I can think of. Cat not clogged , distributor good. Changed plugs n wires cap rotor and distributor itself. Seems more like spark issues , its random multiple when it stumbles. I'm hesitant to change the coil. Anyway that's the gen x life. Take care my friend.

      @@AstroVanTribe was thinking that too. I read about it. I cleaned and inspected crank sensor. It was covered in muck. I was going to scope trace it before replacing it. Thanks for the advice. Could just be relearn after distributor change.

    • @jayclark5912

      Wanted to report back and send a quick thanks. Even without the relearn, The Magic Bus is running great after the crank sensor change. I tested the old sensor with a 12 volt supply, and it was failing intermittently. I could get 12 volts out without metal in front of the sensor face. Or get it to go 0 to 12 to 0 outpuut by gently tapping on it. Definitely no good. I bought a new plug too but didn't need it. Thanks again , you definitely got a new subscriber.
