Armored Core 6 is my first FromSoft game, and now that I’m playing it I don’t know how I’ll ever get used to other games again. The pacing, the combat, the music, the sheer visceral fun on my inner child as I see two big as fuck machines try to kick the shit out of each other. The difficulty and desire to continue playing even after two dozen deaths. AC6 was the first game I got on PS5 and the first game I ever played on a console that I owned. And I’ll forever remember it as not just another FromSoft Great. But THE FromSoft Great. The first one I ever played, and perhaps the most memorable of the greats on the list. All I need now is DLC for the game.
I myself consider AC6 so much a game of the year, I almost can't believe that it wasn't even on the finale list. I say this as a Baldur's player and saw dozens of hours of gameplay from Starfield. It breaks my heart so much the game doesn't get near enough recognition. A huge bunch of people literally never played it. And the ones that did most likely flamed at it being too hard. When in reality the actual only weak spot of the game is weapon balance (which is a PVP only issue, the entire singleplayer is an actual masterpiece imo).
- Shows intentionally underwhelming gameplay for other competitors - Shows literally the best fight in the game for the obvious favorite I'm sensing a bit of propaganda here... I love AC6 more than the other games combined, but let's not be dishonest here.
This year just shows how little the actual award matters. This year is PACKED with incredible, groundbreaking games. My personal pick is TOTK, but there are like 5 games that could win in my mind, AC6 being one, and I would be just as happy for it. AC6 was my first foray into Armored Core and damn is it an amazing game.

Looking into the other GOTY Nominees, all of them are fair in their own respective ways… …With that being said, a “Best action” nominee clearly ain’t enough when talking about this game. Putting my bias aside, AC6 got fucking robbed…
I still like how occasionally I'll be playing a game while relatives are visiting (I'm not the most social person in general. Most my relatives are well aware that I will disappear if they try to engage me socially while I'm not focused on something else), they'll look at it as they pass by, then have to stop and ask how I even keep track of what is going on with regards to either the speed of the game, or how much is going on on-screen at a given time. Armored core, EDF, Nioh, ballisticNG and Project wingman have all gotten that response. My measure of a good game isn't it's popularity level, it's how much fun you can have with it while still needing your brain engaged.
Honestly I’m just happy AC6 won best action game. Seeing as how this series of games hasn’t had a new game in a while this was probably what From Software was expecting, especially with the line up with the other great games this year
I'd never played an armored core game before, but I've played all of Fromsofts souls games, Elden Ring, Bloodborne, Sekiro. When the trailer dropped for armored core. I was so hyped. It was definitely my most anticipated game of 2023. I knew to expect that it wasn't going to be a soul's like and I was so excited to see what modern day Fromsoft would do with their sci-fi setting and without a doubt it exceeded my expectations and is one of my favorite games of all time and my game of the year easily. Thank you from soft for continuing to make just great games.❤
AC6 is definitely one of the top games i wanna play before the end of the year. Simple nod to being a complete game where all the parts are locked based on story n not behind a paywall. If AC was done by any other triple A developer it would follow in the footstep of microtransactions, season pass, etc. This is a game where you can customize your ac as you see fit and is very forgiving on selling and making new loadouts* It could have easily been you have to rebuy the part if it in used on another ac loadout or needing $ to unlock another loadout slot.
AC6 is the first game I replayed not just once, but twice to get the entire story. Usually I play through a game once and that enough for me regardless of how many endings. This is the first game I actually felt excited to go through more than once. It’s the first game I beat more than once since the Ratchet and Clank games on PS2 and replaying KH2 on PS3. Definitely my game of the year, but since I know it might not even get nominated, I hope BG3 wins.
I like Buldurs Gate’s combat as it is very fun to strategize while playing with friends but yeah Armored Core easily has the best combat of any game I’ve played in recent years.
Totk only won 1 award despite nominated multiple times Starfield nominated multiple times and had DLC trailer saying its "10/10 best game ever" didnt win any Spiderman 2 Nominated 7 times, won 0 BG3 won all the award it deserved in Hi Fi Rush and AC6 nominated small amount of time, won the ones important to them
The other songs are great too, “Cinders”, the other version of steel haze (called “where truths meet”), “Contact With You” …. Not a lot but it’s all great
not even mentioned in ost of the year but they gave it to Zelda like....????? I liked the game overall but the music is forgettable asf and this game is BANGER after BANGER shit is rigged asdf
I don't think AC6 is nowhere near getting GOTY sadly, even the new Spiderman has more chances I think its going to be between Zelda, Starfield, Baldurs and Spiderman
ac6 scope too narrow and niche to win it. fuck even baldurs gate 3 is buggy as fuck especially in act 3 its an incomplete game just overhyped. also even divinity original sin 2 combat was better.
AC6 definitely deserves a nomination, but I don't think it'll get GOTY. Baldur's Gate is a remarkably good game with a million different ways to play. There are no generic NPCs. Everything is a character with dialogue. And yes, EVERYTHING, including the dead and animals. Tears of the Kingdom is just Breath of the Wild but MORE. I don't think AC6 is out of the running, but TotK and Baldur's Gate definitely shouldn't be downplayed. Starfield deserves ALL the smoke, though, that game is just another bethesda game with all the jank that comes with it,
It Takes Two somehow won despite heavy competition in 2021 but hey, I'm on copium. Armored Core 6 singlehandedly revived a genre that is either dead or close to it so it better get some recognition.
I never played an Armored Core game before, I’ll be honest and say I was lured by the fact that FromSoftware was the one releasing a new game that wasn’t set on Knights and Monsters but rather mechas. I never expected the game to get me so absorbed in its lore, characters, soundtrack and gameplay. I hated and loved characters, I was forced to change my style of AC in order to beat some bosses, I never expected to come to love a game that I had never interacted with previously. Every game I’ve played was years after they came out and I heard thousands of people praising them. AC6 was the case where I attempted something new and I firmly believe it deserved to be mentioned in the game awards, people need to experience it.
I'll say it again, I been playing Armored Core waay before the Miyazaki hype before Dark Souls 1 even, and this isn't even Miyazaki's product (literally my YT name is from ACFA)
@@stasis9047 What I meant by Miyazaki is just Fromsoft in general. Fromsoft is finally in the major public spotlight after all these years with their recent release, Elden Ring, winning GOTY last year. Because of that, though, I doubt they'll win again. At least not consecutively.

I say this as a Baldur's player and saw dozens of hours of gameplay from Starfield. It breaks my heart so much the game doesn't get near enough recognition.
A huge bunch of people literally never played it. And the ones that did most likely flamed at it being too hard. When in reality the actual only weak spot of the game is weapon balance (which is a PVP only issue, the entire singleplayer is an actual masterpiece imo).
you can be a total scrub in AC6 and still look awesome doing it
Let the last cinders burn
We won Raven bros...
- Shows intentionally underwhelming gameplay for other competitors
- Shows literally the best fight in the game for the obvious favorite
I'm sensing a bit of propaganda here... I love AC6 more than the other games combined, but let's not be dishonest here.
It’s almost as if… now stay with me here… it’s a satire video that isn’t claiming to be concrete fact?
AC6 was so freaking fun. Never had played an AC game before. Now I'm hooked and need more
AC6 is the most fun I had since Elden Ring. And Elden Ring is very very very fun.
The only game that deserves the title 'GOTY' is the game you enjoyed playing the most this year no matter what year it's from
Please be quiet and let people have opinions 🙏🏾
This year just shows how little the actual award matters. This year is PACKED with incredible, groundbreaking games. My personal pick is TOTK, but there are like 5 games that could win in my mind, AC6 being one, and I would be just as happy for it. AC6 was my first foray into Armored Core and damn is it an amazing game.
Dueling against Rusty was both sad and amazing. Helps that the layer of atmosphere you’re going through letcha fight uninhibited, tho.
I have never played an armoured core game.
This is in my opinion the biggest mistake I have made to this date.
For those wondering AC6 gameplay footage was NOT sped up
That high speed mech action!
although it seems he modded it so he doesn't lose energy at all
@@XShadowzVarcolacno, it's just the only mission where you have to fight entirety of several fleets in stratosphere. So game naturally gives you infinite energyso you could infiniyely boost towards them
@@masterwizard8090 o right i forgot, it's been a while since i fought rusty on that level and mostly only remember walter's fight that had no infinite energy
Was skeptical of AC6 when it got announced at TGA last year but after my recent experience with elden ring i decided to give it a try because it’s fromsoft. Worst decision i ever made. I am now depressed. Rusty 😭😭😭
Looking into the other GOTY Nominees, all of them are fair in their own respective ways…
…With that being said, a “Best action” nominee clearly ain’t enough when talking about this game. Putting my bias aside, AC6 got fucking robbed…
I supposed this would happen
VI won Best Action Game for a _reason._ Even if I'm stuck at the chapter 1 skill-check boss...
Was thinking about making this kind of video ... seems like you flew just out of reach.
do it still, I would like to see your version 😁
Yeah armored core should’ve gotten many awards
Not turn based. Not buggy as fuck. Not stuck on a glorified wiiu. We are so back.
We didn’t just get robbed we got mugged
Seeing as how this series of games hasn’t had a new game in a while this was probably what From Software was expecting, especially with the line up with the other great games this year
People usually used to tell that they prefer fast paced duel combat in the comments before. But ahh it's 2023 and we need a whole ass video about it
I just saw the most sweatiest rusty vs 621 duel ever
I have more sweatiest fights in this game uploaded 😳
Thanks for reminding me to finish this game.
the ost of ac6 is just... beautiful
AC6 is simply the funiest game I've played in the last 10 years
Armored Core 6 scratched an itch I needed to be scratched for so long, I wish AC6 and any future titles a bright future full of success.
I platinum-ed AC6 last night and now i dont know what other game can fill the hole it left 😭
big robot make brain go brr
just play the emulator and emulate the old games repeat the cycle 🗣 💯 ‼
If you want fun robot games with the same kind of tone of AC6 then I’d recommend Warframe and NieR: Atomata
This year in general has been amazing for video games, and I’m so, so thankful for all that we got this year
RIP Rusty 😔
"Rusty, pull the ejection lever!!"
I say crying
AC6 is the first game I replayed not just once, but twice to get the entire story. Usually I play through a game once and that enough for me regardless of how many endings. This is the first game I actually felt excited to go through more than once. It’s the first game I beat more than once since the Ratchet and Clank games on PS2 and replaying KH2 on PS3.
Definitely my game of the year, but since I know it might not even get nominated, I hope BG3 wins.
There's three endings
There is another
“I WON’T STOP!”
-Rusty
BG3 need to get it to set a new acceptable standard for 60$ game.
This game is one of those games where no matter what you do, you will always remember how it felt in the moment.
This year is a battle between AC6 and Baulder’s Gate 3 for game of the year. Every other game is just there to fill in space
I loved that fight with Rusty. It truly felt like a waltz, where there will be only standing in the end
I like Buldurs Gate’s combat as it is very fun to strategize while playing with friends but yeah Armored Core easily has the best combat of any game I’ve played in recent years.
Ive never seen one thing of gameplay of any armored core game but this game goes crazy i want to try it now
Totk only won 1 award despite nominated multiple times
Starfield nominated multiple times and had DLC trailer saying its "10/10 best game ever" didnt win any
Spiderman 2 Nominated 7 times, won 0
BG3 won all the award it deserved in
Hi Fi Rush and AC6 nominated small amount of time, won the ones important to them
Hey, it's hard to fight with tears in your eyes, Buddy.
Armored core should have won game of the year but zelda is also good.
Americans finally understood what Japan was obsessing about all these years
Why'd this man upload a video of himself being bad at 4 video games smh.
My face when AC6 got one of the awards
What’s the song here? 0:39 cause it fucking slaps
Steel Haze Ortus (Rusted Pride)
@@mongedopantano6169 thanks. what a banger
The other songs are great too, “Cinders”, the other version of steel haze (called “where truths meet”), “Contact With You” …. Not a lot but it’s all great
I FLY HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGGGHHHHH
WATCH THE SUUUUUUUUUUN RISE
IIIIIIIIIINTO DAAAAAAAWWWWNNN
But apparently not onto the GOTY stage.
not even mentioned in ost of the year but they gave it to Zelda like....????? I liked the game overall but the music is forgettable asf and this game is BANGER after BANGER shit is rigged asdf
@@stasis9047 yeah…
Between Baldur's Gate 3 and Armored Core 6 it's a very hard desicion, but surely one of those games will win the GOTY.
I don't think AC6 is nowhere near getting GOTY sadly, even the new Spiderman has more chances I think its going to be between Zelda, Starfield, Baldurs and Spiderman
@@stasis9047 it dosen't need to win a GOTY, for my is allready a great game.
ac6 scope too narrow and niche to win it. fuck even baldurs gate 3 is buggy as fuck especially in act 3 its an incomplete game just overhyped. also even divinity original sin 2 combat was better.
All i have to say is, listen to the sound and watch the animation of the Assault Boost. 10/10
This looks fun as hell. It's like third-person ULTRAKILL with RTX on
God damn I knew it felt similar to another game’s feel
If Geoff Keighley doesn't play this at the 2023 Game Awards I will cancel him
Shoulda shown the full 1v1
Had to throw away the pile bunker. The guilt must've made it too heavy to carry.
...buddy.
Literally a masterpiece
First thing I thought of when I saw you dashing like a madman was "wow, this looks like Fencer gameplay from EDF5"
as good as miyazaki’s games are, ya’ll need to stop meatriding so hard
This wasn't made by Miyazaki tho. He was just producer.
Meatriding? Nah it's just a damn good game that brings people joy, sorry bud
my vote goes to bg3 bro that shit’s fire
