Also fun fact: the orbs are talking to each other about corrupting the Astartes
The entity within the orbs are Xenos in origin, not Chaos filth... Rather hilariously, while Pederson himself has said these Xenos are simply of his own design, they also bear a very, VERY striking similarity to an extremely obscure Xenos race called the Yu'Vath, from the original 1st edition of 40k, 'Rogue Trader'. The Yu'Vath were a psychically powerful Xenos race who combined their technology with their knowledge of the Warp, but were iirc, wiped out during the Great Crusade by the Legions Astartes.

Imagine if you will, after each one of those black cuts, waiting 6+ months for the next 5 minutes of glorious video. That's how we originally watched this when it first released as he was making it. Having the whole thing at our fingertips feels like such a luxury.
it was def worth it but they edited this video, the originals were better man.. just some parts of the music, like where the astropath is saying ''return your men immediately'' landed much harder originally, and they left the scene out where he gives a quick order to one of the other astartes that nods and runs back really, why mess with perfection, the whole thing was spot on fuckkkkk, really shows how corpo suits fuck great shit up
@@Yobott My understanding is that some of the music used in the original was copywrighted and so they changed it. I agree that the original sound design was much better.
@@SamuelAko There are various mediums for 40k and some comics too. This is a standalone animation, if you wanna learn more about 40k and dont wanna read (Which i recommend you do, its worth) is check out some TH-camrs. I'd recommend Luetin09, Adeptus Ridiculous And Isyander & Koda. If you want an Animation series to watch then i recommend the legendary: If The Emperor Had A Text To Speech Device.
No other piece of media I have seen so perfectly encapsulates how Space Marines are absolute gods among men on the battlefield, while simultaneously being so incredibly out of their depth. Warhammer 40k goes hard, and Syama Pedersen's Astartes project goes hard even for 40k. Glad you got to watch it, Cross!
Yup its a fantastic way to show what they are capable of and just how much more effective they are vs baseline humans or even high level psyker/warp entities. They know no fear.
Raphael in Angels of Death bro. I'm forever Tau/Ad Mech, but even I was fighting the urge to yell "Honey! Fetch the credit card. I need 2000 points of Blood Angels"
The more I watch it the more I see just such excellent story telling. (IMO obviously) They show the Astartes at first as being insanely strong or overpowered compared to the normal troops, then towards the end they show the Astartes being outmatched by an Alien force. It really does show the whole theme of Warhammer for humanity. The way everyone is kinda robotic and cold, the harshness of it all, the constant fighting to the point where it almost feels like everything is mass produced, the overall aesthetics are just excellent. The mysticism, mixed with the ww2 aesthetic with sci fi.... It's all just very well done. The show don't tell story telling is just on such good display here. The execution of this short will always be legendary. Warhammer has always fit that weird area for me, how in this science fiction universe where everything is so vast it just means everything becomes mass produced and where even violence and war is mass produced. The cold almost factory like roboticism of the human race, almost like we are an ant hive. It's just a cool dystopian vibe.
Also need to recommend watching 'The Last Church' by KillTeam Hungary It's one of the most integral & deep character studies into Big E himself and his beliefs. He's still a horrible person of course, but it's a deeply enthralling story that's basically just two individuals having a theological debate, yet it's hands down 1000% better than 99.9% of the hot garbage Hollyweird has produced in a looooooong time! ;-)
@@helleboreofficial4692 There's plenty of fan-made 40k films out there... Aside from Astartes, the "must-watch" picks tend to be; 1. 'The Last Church' Set during towards the end of the period known as The Unification Wars, it's by far the best & deepest insights into the character of The Emperor himself. Also a great thinking film too! 2. 'Helsreach' Set during the 3rd War for Armageddon, it follows High Chaplain Grimeldus of the Black Templars and his squad of Marines, as they lead the defense of Hive Helsreach from the onslaught of Ghazghul's Ork hordes. Really gives a great look and feel of just how monstrous & terrifying the Orks are. Plus a good portrayal of Space Marines fighting a more protracted, defensive style of warfare.
This fan made animation is single handedly responsible for the golden era warhammer is experiencing with new interest. Now if only the tabletop designers could pull their heads out their ass
Facts I agree this animation I would say has allowed people who don’t know wh40k that well to at least get a glimpse into the setting. Yes it doesn’t explain anything but it will start that curiosity in one’s mind to investigate to see what it’s all about.
Just as one of the top comments on an Astartes vids said: “Astartes is what got me into 40K, Games Workshop’s behaviour and treatment of it’s fans is what got me out of it”. Although I must say Space Marine 2 has rekindled my interest in the IP.
in the original that stuff was better, no unneeded sound effects and there's a scene missing, just can't get over what they did with it after fucking pedersen and banning him from making more when they first came out, after patiently waiting for months, it was really just *worth the wait through and through* , no rushing, no deadlines, just pure love for really making it the best he could (and he could!!) then some fucking bozo comes in and post directs all sorta crap into it and out of it making it just ..less..
At 10:19 when you said, "They didn't even give him a second!" you're right! What might also interest you is, when you stop and think about it you'll realize that the psyker in the red robe knew they would do this if he were to be possessed, knew the risk of possession it represented to break concentration long enough to warn them, and still chose to warn them anyway, knowing that it would probably cost him his life on the spot. That's badass.
@@buxmellnot too sure about the spheres, but if a psyker becomes possessed by a demon from the warp, they are usually used as gateways to allow MORE demons too come through, which never ends well.
@@buxmell Basically what happened is the blue sphere tried influencing the space marines but failed. In discussion with another blue sphere (which the red robe guy was listening in on) they agree that the blue sphere has to shed his form and escape through the warp. However, when blue sphere tries this, he gets instantly consumed by a warp entity which then acts through the sphere’s body to suck the space marines in and transports them to a strange place which seems to be a chaos realm.
The red robe isn’t an astropath. It’s an inquisition psyker. Astropaths are also psykers, but they’re for long range (interstellar) communication and work in a choir, not alone.
The two aren't mutually exclusive. That being said, given the crimson robes and him being connected to the Xeno-tech device. I would think he's a TechPriest.
@@Kreigmstr AFAIK TechPriests don't usually bear the Inquisition logo, they usually have their own skull-and-cog symbol they wear even if they serve on everything else. I think this guy was inquisition rather than a servant of Mars.
@@TheCommunistColin Thanks for clarifying. I don't really know the heraldry that specifically. I did play both Astropath and Tech-Priest at different points in a Dark Heresy 2nd Ed (TTRPG) campaign we had going for a couple years. Basically play as Acolytes of an Inquisitor. No guarantee that's canon. But it was published by a GW subsidiary.
"Somebody hire that fucking guy!" they did, took his stuff off youtube, put it behind a paywall, and have basically prevented him from making anything else. I've heard they might have let him work on the new video game a bit, but he ain't making any more of these sorts of animations.
If i remember correctly he worked on the second season of The Pariah Nexus and also did some work for that mini series of the blood angels against a genestealer insurrection.

And the leaked NDA also reveals that even if he leave's his not allowed to make any Warhammer content, including for free, for years. GW is the biggest enemy of Warhammer fans, as usual.
I love how Syama shows the Astartes as men of sheer will and purpose. Their actions seem deliberate, almost machine-like. The way they kill the inquisitor when he breaks - there's no panic or deliberation. The situation fell into a prescribed course of action, and they took it unflinchingly. Epic.
Yeah, that's not admirable to me. To just do it without thinkng about it. I want my soldiers to have minds of their own, especially the more expert and powerful ones.
I will never get over the fact the one Marine just tanked multi-las fire before his bolts deflected off the shield. And all it did was put pock marks in his armor. Also, a few days late, but the guy in the red robe is not an astropath. That is a Psyker Inquisitor, monitoring the captive sphere. He heard the psychic conversation between them, and when he let his concentration lapse to tell the Captain to get his men out, the captive sphere possessed him.

It still genuinely baffles me how this was all put together and animated by one guy meanwhile multi billion dollar studios with hundreds of animators can barely shit out a half decent show without ruining it with some stupid misguided audience catering.
it baffles me too but at the same time it makes sense; art is a form of self expression, real art is to really make it how you envision it and have the ability to actually do what you see in your mind.. we all have ''art'' in our heads, just not many can actually put it into a tangible form as soon as you start making it a business it will become just that; thought out, planned out and optimizing for a large audience and it stops being self expression and it turns into a *product that should please the masses as the company envisions it to be* but it won't.. not as much as the passion that people see from that one person with extraordinary skills that really _really_ loves something and makes it exactly how they envision it, without compromise or deadlines, or monetary gain or whatever the fuck: they just make it because they love making it
I think the corridor crew explained it the best. It is often a matter of time. These multi billion dollar companies try to pump out animations as quickly as possible to gain more money. And with these tight constraints we get cgi that looks like garbage. Astartes was a passion project so the only one putting in time constraints was the animator himself.
The first 1:10 is the best interpretation of any space marine boarding operation we've ever seen and may ever see. SO DAMN GOOD. Melta charges ftw. Also bolter rounds are mini rockets. Each round fired is generally a kill shot. So imagine someone dying each and every trigger pull which is lore accurate.
I noticed in the new space marine game, the stiff but calculated and fast movement from marines was really noticable in certain cutscenes, and reminded me ALOT of how this dude animated his astartes, makes me wonder if some other animators took a page out of his book for the game or maybe he was involved
You could just listen for 10 seconds into the video and be sure this work would be the hardest bandger you've ever come across in maybe 5 years. Huge respect to Pedersen, hope he's doing good
Yeah, the original sound design is ridiculously punchy. Like the GW altered version, which this is, doesn't sound bad in isolation, but it feels shockingly weak compared to the original, at least to me.
I remember when this was being made. The first one dropped in 2018 and then another every 5-6 months after that. Waiting 6 months for 3 more minutes of awesome is something else. Another good fan-made video is "Guardsman" by Richard Boylan.
I have the original uploads on my channel. GW changed the score and colour grade and the original soundtrack went way harder. It wasn’t an Astropath, most likely a Tech Priest within the inquisition and he became possessed the split second he took to warn the Chapter Master to “RETURN THEM IMMEDIATELY”, it’s muffled but you can hear it, he risked his life for it and Beakie Marine didn’t hesitate.
@@RaixsOreh Yup the subtext is that it's an Inquisitor, likely one that's been investigating the nature of this grave threat, for years, decades, maybe even centuries... and it still got him. He knows he's risking his life in this attempt to decipher the enemy, and indeed he still gets corrupted and dies. The threats to humanity are so vast that no expense can be spared, no sacrifice too great.
@RaixsOreh literally has a giant I for the inquisition on his back. But Yeah, he's a tech priest or astropath, lol No a tech priest whould have the symbol of the mechanicus on him as they are always a separate entity regardless of who they are working for and astropthas only send messages

And this is why the Amazon series needs to keep the astartes in reserve. Season one finale needs to have a single astartes just wreck an entire room no sweat and be a deeply intimidating presence
I have been saying this for years THEY NEED TO MAKE A WARHAMMER MOVIE with everything from the battles in space to tracking heresy into the planets leading up to all out wars and the machines being released into the battlefields if they did this the whole world would turn to warhammer instead of star wars we need something new and gritty set in space i think warhammer would absolutely tear it apart if someone did it the right way

FunFact: the Space Marine chapter in this film are named "The Retributors". This chapter was also an invention of Syama Pederson, a fellow kiwi and the creator of Astartes. The film was so wildly popular, that Games Workshop added this to their official media, their TH-cam project, hired Sayama and even went as far as to add Sayama's Retributors into official Warhammer chapter list, meaning he could play his own army. Their sigil is a golden fist, grasping a golden skull. It is expected that they will eventually get their own canon tales and exploits added to canon in time.
The details has always been what makes this thing the best thing ever.....like they walk into the vault in diamond formation with a tail, the zero hesitation when the sanctioned psyker is compromised, the unstoppable nature of the squad just carving thru the defences, the sacrificing of his hand to try and disrupt the attack, his lens with all the targeting reticles being shown AFTER the cover is broken, so much more......unmatched
Welcome! in addition to youtube channels I also recommend books. You should choose a faction or space marine chapter that you are interested in and read some of their books this is really helpful when getting to know the universe. @@lucasblanchard47 There's 18 distinct legions of Space Marines, each lead by a Primarch, who are the biological sons of the Emporer of Mankind. 9 of those legions turned to the side of chaos during the Horus Heresy, where Horus Lupercal, one of the Primarchs, was convinced by the gods of chaos to betray the Imperium of Man and turn to chaos. Now in the modern day, 10,000 years after the Horus Heresy, most of the Primarchs are dead or missing, but things have just recently been shaken up by the ressurection of both Gulliman and Lion El'Johnson, 2 Primarchs of loyalist legions.
The world and lore of Warhammer 40k is huge. It is good and bad, amazing and terrible, dark as hell and sometimes heartwarming. You can find a part of it you can enjoy and have a deep connection to
That's probably my favorite aspect of WH40k books especially the Necromunda books I have read. Everything is just SO bleak, so dystopian, humanity is so extended, mass produced, inefficient, yet even in these hells there are just tiny tiny glimpses of goodness that sometimes poke through before briefly being snuffed out again. It's just such a cool vibe IMO. In this universe where space is truly vast where humanity has thousands and thousands of planets with hive cities with hundreds of billions of people in just a city on a planet, everything is just SO endless that there is such an intense feeling of hopelessness and desperation. Endless wars over such large areas and even timelines.
For real. A second's hesitation, and what was left of that psyker would make the two the Astartes fought on the ship look like kittens by comparison. A daemon with a highly-trained Warp-sensitive vessel at its fingertips is a force to be reckoned with.

Its still wild to me how GW lost its biggest FREE advertisment in the name of "money" without actually getting none, they really are the Sony of tabletop games. "We like money, but we actually dont like getting it."
I mean, even as someone who owns thousands worth of minis, the biggest thing holding Warhammer back is GW's insistence on unnecessary premiums. I have 2 friends who'd buy product in an instant if they weren't so egregiously priced.
It's calculated as acceptable losses to prevent potential competition. Competition is actually bad for business once you reach a certain point of market-domination. At that point, competition is only good for other people, and only as long as it never ends. As soon as someone wins against competition, even if it's by outperforming all others (but usually because others fail to take them out by other means before it's too late), then you no longer have a market and it devolves into a stagnant aristocracy that will do everything in its power to never have to compete again, by keeping others down. But in order to maintain competition, you have to actively prevent and eliminate winners before they get to win. You can only "win" in a market if nobody ever does, or if you beat everyone else forever. That's why billionaires are bad for capitalism.
@@Falconer5752 Yes. Being a product of it doesn't mean it's good for it. Capitalism incentivizes an exponential accumulation of capital in fewer and fewer hands, which is inherently counter-productive to the premise of a free market. If you want a freed market, you have to actively keep it free from capitalists.
A cool Detail In 9:00 The Psyker (basically Warhammer 40K version of a Wizard or Mage with a little hint of madness) is used to establish a communication between both of the Spheres which is why the space marines stabbed the sphere that is not chained up. 9:36 You hear the spheres say You must take them. The sphere that's chained up is talking to the other sphere that is not chained up. The Psyker then realises their screwed and warns them and says "Recall them immediately" (or smth similar to that). Him breaking this concentration and focus is how this Psyker actually gets possessed by the sphere.
I'm super here for the WH40K universe finally getting the attention it deserves. Astartes was definitely one of those inflection points a few years back.
This is also perhaps one of the best "lore accurate" portrayals of the Adeptus Astartes outside of the Black Library; Efficient, Tactical, with no nonsense.

Agreed. Really highlights how terrifying Space Marines are.
Yup its a fantastic way to show what they are capable of and just how much more effective they are vs baseline humans or even high level psyker/warp entities. They know no fear.
The next closest thing is the game
Raphael in Angels of Death bro. I'm forever Tau/Ad Mech, but even I was fighting the urge to yell "Honey! Fetch the credit card. I need 2000 points of Blood Angels"
The more I watch it the more I see just such excellent story telling. (IMO obviously)
They show the Astartes at first as being insanely strong or overpowered compared to the normal troops, then towards the end they show the Astartes being outmatched by an Alien force.
ASTARTES is not only easily the best 40k fan film ever made, its probably THE best fan film ever made. FOR THE EMPEROR
tis' a shame the animator got poached only to not have his talent be utilized
Also need to recommend watching 'The Last Church' by KillTeam Hungary
It's one of the most integral & deep character studies into Big E himself and his beliefs. He's still a horrible person of course, but it's a deeply enthralling story that's basically just two individuals having a theological debate, yet it's hands down 1000% better than 99.9% of the hot garbage Hollyweird has produced in a looooooong time! ;-)
@Sock66 Hello me
I'm pretty sure I've only ever seen 2 fan made movies/shorts (Emesis Blue and Astartes) and I love them both.
@@helleboreofficial4692 There's plenty of fan-made 40k films out there...
Aside from Astartes, the "must-watch" picks tend to be;
1. 'The Last Church'
Set during towards the end of the period known as The Unification Wars, it's by far the best & deepest insights into the character of The Emperor himself.
Also a great thinking film too!
2. 'Helsreach'
Set during the 3rd War for Armageddon, it follows High Chaplain Grimeldus of the Black Templars and his squad of Marines, as they lead the defense of Hive Helsreach from the onslaught of Ghazghul's Ork hordes.
Really gives a great look and feel of just how monstrous & terrifying the Orks are. Plus a good portrayal of Space Marines fighting a more protracted, defensive style of warfare.

@@ShinigamiH Nah it was copyright shenanigans. If they cared about the sound design they'd replace the effects appropriately but they just filled it with generic stock sounds. Cant win with GW
It still genuinely baffles me how this was all put together and animated by one guy meanwhile multi billion dollar studios with hundreds of animators can barely shit out a half decent show without ruining it with some stupid misguided audience catering.
it baffles me too but at the same time it makes sense; art is a form of self expression, real art is to really make it how you envision it and have the ability to actually do what you see in your mind.. we all have ''art'' in our heads, just not many can actually put it into a tangible form
as soon as you start making it a business it will become just that; thought out, planned out and optimizing for a large audience and it stops being self expression and it turns into a *product that should please the masses as the company envisions it to be*
but it won't.. not as much as the passion that people see from that one person with extraordinary skills that really _really_ loves something and makes it exactly how they envision it, without compromise or deadlines, or monetary gain or whatever the fuck: they just make it because they love making it
I think the corridor crew explained it the best.
I noticed in the new space marine game, the stiff but calculated and fast movement from marines was really noticable in certain cutscenes, and reminded me ALOT of how this dude animated his astartes, makes me wonder if some other animators took a page out of his book for the game or maybe he was involved

In this universe where space is truly vast where humanity has thousands and thousands of planets with hive cities with hundreds of billions of people in just a city on a planet, everything is just SO endless that there is such an intense feeling of hopelessness and desperation. Endless wars over such large areas and even timelines.

In 9:00 The Psyker (basically Warhammer 40K version of a Wizard or Mage with a little hint of madness) is used to establish a communication between both of the Spheres which is why the space marines stabbed the sphere that is not chained up. 9:36 You hear the spheres say You must take them. @@queuebe4068 I mean more in a general sense.
This guy and Sodaz.
Masters of art.
Give each of them a 100 million dollar budget and let them cook.
Divorce her immediately
@@tonyc.8667 haha oh jeeze
The direction for this is perfect. I cannot find any flaw. Every little detail works towards the plot. No useless bs.
Didn't even know this was Warhammer. Whoever made is this is not only a brilliant animator but has incredible knowledge and intuition for cinematographic techniques! Bravo!
Someone showed Cross Astartes!? Yeah bro... that shit is peak. It is so peak that I'm fairly sure the idea of an animation studio for the company was indeed sparked by this animation. Before the original got pulled from TH-cam and put onto their platform(They bought the creator out they wanted his shit so bad lol)... It had many many views and reactions lol.
Cross, you need to play Darktide. I know it's not on the same level of quality as Space Marine 2 but it'll scratch that 40K itch you seem to be having. Although, no space marines in it. Just a priest, soldier, ogre and wizard.
Second this.... it's not as over the top as Spacemarine but it does give you a feel for the horrors of the Grim Dark....... then on to the Black Library 😂 maybe some Eisenhorn before you fall into The Horus Heresy.
I honestly like Darktide more then Space Marine 2, I just want more content for Darktide…
@@ps5426and you are just psyckers, an ogrin, or rank-and-file guardsmen that were put on death row against the forces of Nurgle
@@gundamwingzero8484 same but we are at the mercy of the developer Fatshark. Sigh.
Darktide is ABSOLUTELY on the same level of quality as SM2 and saying otherwise is so shitty to how absolutely fuckin amazing Fatshark’s developers did at capturing the feel of 40K
I am SO hyped for this, Astartes is maybe my favorite piece of visual media ever and now I get to watch one of my fav d2 youtubers' reaction???
Too bad it's not even the original version.
Shame he couldn't watch the original, the music is so unbelievably amazing and changes the feel.
Fckn warhammer universe dopest sht ever!
“Brothers, what is your craft?”
Astartes: “Death!”
For the emporer!
Respect to the one dude that brought this sht to visual dope as hell life . Great work!
_"They descend from the heavens, wreathed in fury and flame. The Emperor’s Angels, forged in war, clad in the light of his divinity. To witness them is to glimpse the Emperor's will made manifest, terrible and awe-inspiring, for they are the hand of judgment upon the galaxy."_
Cross the lore around humanity in Warhammer 40k is amazing you would nut over it
He’s getting drawn in deeper
This got me into warhammer over the pandemic. I love that people are still finidng it and reacting to it.
I have never once played, read, or had anything to do with Space Marines or Warhammer 40K. But everything those marines did, I was like, "Yep, that's how they do it." That is how convincing this video is. So freaking well done.
Really hope he watches Pariah Nexus next cuz Salamanders are best bois
VULKAN LIVES!!!
@@Rex_Sierra currently reading Deathfire and I always laugh cuz every 5 minutes of the audiobook Numion sais it
@@Rex_Sierra IT'S ALSO A HAMMER
@@Rex_Sierra*STOMP* *STOMP*
Uncensored F bomb from Cross right at the end there lol
Never in my life would I think Cross would fall this deep into the Warhammer hole
Love how the dude looks away for a mere second, with the warp demon only to be seen and disappear before he looks back at the screen. Pure chaos.
Destiny Lore used to have magic like this.
Loved this animation, made me get into warhammer for like a month lol
I saw the thumbnail and instantly was like Oh dang he's never seen astartes?! when it came out I watched it like 10 times on repeat, so dope
The silent professionalism and communication between the space marines is why I appreciate this game from afar
This is so interesting for even hardcore fans because they use an obscure/new alien species. The mystery and atmosphere reminds me of the Alien franchise.
Let’s goooooo more warhammer on the channel!
This was made by a SINGLE PERSON! Syama Pedersen
Also Cross, look up The Emperors Text-to-Speech, it is satire, but does give you good lore, a much loved gem by the community
"I summon *P R O H I B I T I O N H A M M E R."*
TTS is one of the most u funny pieces of media I’ve ever seen. It’s honestly impressive how much of it I watched without laughing, chuckling, smiling, or emoting in any way besides for groans and eye rolls.
Gives you good lore? Wtf? It's one of the main contributors to tourists completely misunderstanding the setting.
@@TheHaydena76 Agreed
Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
New fan Film dropped yesterday called The Awakening a 40k short. You don't want to miss it!!!
Time to clean up the vault to make space for all the new guns.
OH WAIT THIS IS NOT DESTINY 2
06:20 That's a Psyker/Astropath that is also an Inquisitor
This is sooooo Frigging AWESOME! The guy needs to be given his own studio so he can make full length shows!!!!! MINT!!!
I think astartes is an amazing masterpiece and I believe GW gave the guy a deserved job. The thing I liked most which I believe is entirely accurate is the speed and ease with which they dispatched the conventional forces, no drama, nothing excessive just walked through them like they weren't even there. That is exactly how it would go space marines vs normal humans.
10:11 PURGE THE UNCLEAN!!!
Wish WH was owned by anyone but Games Workshop. That company is just a pile of shit.
Quick and Dirty summary for people who know destiny but not 40k (or the ones who are just starting to learn with space marine 2 coming out)
Raid team of lore-accurate titans (as in could beat shaxx physically) wielding rocket frame auto rifles and linear fusion sidearms vs lore-accurate warlocks (bald guys are Ikora powerful and the orb creature could shame the Witch Queen) and their minions
Savathûn’s carnage wrought exists on the scale of multiple galactic arms and thousands upon thousands upon thousands of worlds. I love 40k and Astartes, but absolutely nothing in this video comes close to Savathûn.
@@Unsaelig notice how I mentioned her personal power, not her schemes

That was simply intense, 'out there' and 'cold' !! Totally captivating - thank u fanman !!
ASTARTES LETS GO
Bye bye Destiny, hello Warhammer
Get ready for Secret Level
Pretty sure he's the main 3d artist for this new anthology series from Amazon, the marines in it look just like his work.
