i had high bp (~160/90) from my teens to my 39th birthday, panic attacks, snoring, hemorrhoids, diverticulitis, regular chest pain at the end, i also was a chain smoker of 3 packs a day. then i gone full carnivore, stopped smoking the day i started with this diet, bp gone down to 120/75 in two weeks, i also lost about 100 pounds. all my other problems were gone in about 6 months. it's a freaking miracle. now i am 40 years old, look like a 28 year old top athlete. i do long hikes and lift heavy weights 5 times a week. and my erectile dysfunction is a thing of the past ;-)

I am a 65 year old female and two years ago, after 3 years of keto, I had an episode of severe acute hypertension and chest pain and raised troponin. I was lying in A&E thinking I had got everything wrong and followed the wrong dietary path.
A coronary angiogram showed I had "coronary arteries remarkably clear of plaque". I had had a MINOCA (Myocardial Infarction with nonobstructive Coronary arteries). I had no Myocardial damage and all my markers resolved. For a few months an ECG watch showed some bizarre cardiac rhythms. This has all resolved and I am in good health.
What happened to me is quite typical of a Covid vaccine injury and I am convinced this is the case.

In mid 50s lost 67 lbs on keto and still do keto. Off BP meds and regular low 100s over mid to low 70s for BP, CAC score of 70, no nicotine, rare alcohol and baby aspirin a day. My heart rate is often at or some times over 100 with minimal activity. Use a Cardia and always sinus rhythm. Not sure why heart rate is higher than expected and BP number is always in the 70s rarely in the 60s even if first number is low 100s to even 99 at times.

I have been having arrhythmias/ectopic palpitations for 8 years now. I don't smoke, drink and am relatively active. I have had all the scans and stress tests etc. and my doctors dismiss them as benign and nothing to worry about. Even though i feel they have been progressively more frequent over the years. Does this sound right? I feel like there should be something i can do about them. The doc just tells me to take metoprolol which i dont like taking.

My brother had an heart attack + stent put in few months ago at 46yo. No warning - never had BP or cholesterol problems before, leads “healthy” lifestyle apart from smoking and his diet being influenced by a vegan girlfriend. It is in the family though- our father had one at 51. What would be best advice for someone relatively young after the heart attack? For now I told him to stop taking calcium and multivitamins.

  • @MarkSpencerAZ
    @MarkSpencerAZ 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

Okay so, I got three stents when I was 50 years old! I am pretty much convinced that French vanilla creamer from Carnation, that is high fructose corn sugar mixed with hydrogenated oil, which I was addicted to in my coffee was the main culprit. Nevertheless by 50 years old I had 90% blockage of my RCA and 80% of the LAD. I also suffer from familia hypolipidemia, so without statins, actually even with full dose stems I'm still in the low 200s with cholesterol, LDL being 140 or higher. The advent of the PCkS9 inhibitors combined with maximum dose of pravastatin, gets me down to about 50 on LDL and maybe 105 overall. As you mentioned in other videos, I have many of the side effects, muscle weakness tendonitis, you name it. I'm sick and tired of statins, but I'm told by a radiologist who did my last CT that I have what's called lead pipe disease, i.e. all my arteries are completely calcified around my heart. I guess that's good and bad if you understand the progression of heart disease, but clearly I am out of the norm. I am stable, and I do a nuclear or exercise treadmill every other year. Really want to get off of statins though, I'm tired of the pain. FYI Just had my ApoB measured and it's about 86 on the statin and repatha.

Great little educational video. The one thing if I may add is that the CAC score of 400 is for males. For females, I would say that getting a CAC score of 100 is about equivalent to the CAC of 400 in males. This is important since the highest rate risk in males is around 1800 but in females it is around 600. Hence a female with a CAC score of 400 is very close to a heart attack trouble but a male with the same score is far from serious danger. I hope you don't mind me adding this. 😘

The table was taken from an article published in Circulation: Assessment of Coronary Artery Disease by Cardiac Computed Tomography 2006;114:1761-1791 I ma not sure links go through on comments, but if you search the title, the article will pop up and it is a free reading article.

@@AngelaAStantonPhD Interesting, thank you. I will look it up.
Even without looking, though, it seems to contradict what I find with the MESA risk calculator (freely available online including as an app for iPhone and Android).
Just now I entered the following data into the calculator:
      Age: 65
      CAC: 400
      Race: Caucasian
      Diabetes: no
      Current smoker: no
      Family history of MI: no
      Total cholesterol: 200
      HDL cholesterol: 50
      Systolic BP: 120
      Lipid lowering medication: no
      Hypertension medication: no
If I set gender to male, I get back the following:
"The estimated 10-year risk of a CHD event for a person with this risk factor profile including coronary calcium is 11.1%"
If I set gender to female, and leave all the other inputs the same, I get back the following:
"The estimated 10-year risk of a CHD event for a person with this risk factor profile including coronary calcium is 7.5%."
Essentially (at least for this set of inputs) the female risk at CAC of 400 is noticeably less than for a male with CAC of 400.
I haven't gone deeply into this calculator but the web page references the following article: J Am Coll Cardiol. 2015 Oct 13;66(15):1643-53.
Okay, even before posting this I found the article you mentioned and skimmed over it. I do see the table you referenced but it looks like the max values you posted were from the age 70-74 column. The max values are even higher in the >74 column.
The paper says that CAC scores in women are approximately 10 years behind those of men, but I don't see anything that says women are at greater risk from a lower CAC score. It's a super long paper so maybe I missed it.

I think it’s my suspected anxiety disorder and / or suspected ADHD that is contributing to my high BP…. My blood pressure has now become a huge bone of contention for me and therefore I get so anxious checking my BP even if I calm myself for 10 minutes in a dark room etc…. Does anyone know if it really is possible that an anxiety disorder could to high BP?

We also dont have those no-dr-order-required $99 places here, either, at least that I've found. So even if you don't have an RMI, contact your imaging places directly and see if they have cash pay for a calcium scoring, and you may be surprised.

Have been on a carnivore diet for about 100 days. Lost about 13 lbs, 10 to go. But I did and advanced lipid test. My LDL-C was 192, LDL-P was 1429 and LDL size is 19.7. My Triglycerides is 225, HDL-C is 46. These numbers are somewhat concerning. Im very active .Exercise daily. All my cholesterol numbers were normal before starting the carnivore diet. Not sure what to next. The weight loss is good and I feel great. I'm also on daily 40mg statin.

If you have a nurse connected to the doctor then you might get them to do it in quieter surroundings. I took my own readings and then told the nurse that the doctor was concerned and showed her my record of home tests. She allowed me to sit quietly whilst she was doing other things and when she took it is was okay. The doctor had wanted me to increase my perindopril and I had told her that I had reduced it because I felt fatigued and dizzy getting up. I was glad I got a low reading at the clinic to back up what I was telling the doctor. Dr Ken Berry has a video about how blood pressure tests should be done. @@blsrulz
