Well done. Now over a year into this journey of keto/carnivore, I am a living example of the story you tell. My "fluffy" cholesterol, my sky high HDL, my low triglycerides are working just as you described. Fat adapted for about a year, 42 lbs less, best shape and most healthy feeling in a long time. @@jeannedigennaro6484 There is no "system" so to speak. You have to listen to what the "artists" say (there is some science, but most is art) and then make decisions for your self. YOU must manage your healthcare. Healthcare has been infiltrated by insurance, lawyers and pharma. Greed and risk management have reduced "care."

I just met with Dr. Cywes on Monday, 5/10/21. We spoke for 90 mins. He's thorough, knows what he's talking about, and can relate. He said he structures his consults similarly: first part learn about your past and your relationship with food: second part he asked me to listen to and allow him to lead me to a conclusion about emotional eating, and the third, and final, part was going forward. He recommended I try 2MAD, 2 and 7pm, based on my specific needs. We decided to order complete blood work, and we're talking again in 3 weeks.
It was a worthwhile "visit". 🥰🥰🥰

Love this subject. Am using a keto carnivore and extended fasting protocol to lower my glucose. In 4 months have lowered my A1C from 5.7 to 5.4. OMAD and 2MAD alone have not lowered my glucose. The fasting has been lowering my glucose. However, my cholesterol has really spiked and my doctor is having a fit. I researched in the (Keto) community that the worst time to check your cholesterol is when you are not weight stable (or when you are loosing weight). I still have 30 lbs to loose. I love my plan and am determined to see it through. I am a 70 year old woman and feeling very well with very few prescription drugs. Love having success as an oldster.

Dear Doctor, I suffer from the condition called: Familial Hypercholesterolemya, where i have un unnaturally high cholesterol level. Just over a year ago I was also diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. The doc put me under an enormus amount of meds, Metformin and Statins, and i was told my conditions were irreversable and i would be on meds for the rest of my life. Well i decided to get myself under a strict keto diet, started to go to the gym and did strength weights training and cardio. Then i decided to trust my instinct and I binned all the prescribed tablets i had in my drawer, and never replaced them. And here i am right now, feeling as fit as a fiddle having lost lots of weight and build lots of muscles, but best of all i've reversed my diabetes and i've declaired myself meds free, meaning i will never take that junk ever again.
But to these days though i still don't know whether i've improved on my cholesterol condition, or if there's any change in me, either for the good or for the bad. But one thing i can tell you, i feel that good that people instead of having me at 63 years of my true age, they believe i look in my early 50es, or tell me i look a lot younger. So you tell me, am i doing the right things or the wrong ones? Many thanks and sorry for going on a bit too long.
    Best regards Sergio UK

No. I'm in the UK, England. We pay no insurance over here, as we benefit from free health care. The trouble is my doctor is an arcaic old Indian bloke who probably hasn't had a refresher for decades and with a Micky Mouse doctorate degree from Calcutta, and is probably stuck in old antiquated theories, and so goes for the majority of our GPs. And it is for that reason i don't even bother visiting the surgery anymore, because i already know that their answer to everything is, to stuff you with poisonus tablets. So i prefer to watch these very informative videos, but with the drawback that you can't have any two ways conversation.

I’m going to forward your video to some of my former students who are now in PA school....my labs are not perfect by any means, but I’m certainly headed in the right direction. Could you address “residual cholesterol” and what it means. I understand it is calculated by taking total cholesterol and subtracting the HDL and LDL. Supposedly an optimal value is less than 17.

Wonderful explanation, and I love your passion on the subject! I have a question: My husband's doctor said his cholesterol levels were very high because his body just made a lot of it, and immediately put him on a statin. How does that happen, that levels are just "naturally" high? Is it really the problem that his doctor says it is? Sorry, I don't have his pre-statin numbers.

Small stroke 2 years ago. Was scared into taking a statin. I quit after about 6 months. On keto since last Nov. Lost 20lbs and bp has gone down some. I am Tofi. About 110lbs now. Advice???

Thanx for the explainer, Dr Cywes! I had a heart attack while I was on a statin. It wasn't until I went Keto/Carnivore that I lost 80 lbs and was able to ditch all my heart meds plus Glipizide for T2.

I recently had to have five stents placed in my heart due to a non-Stemi heart attack even though I have been from Keto to Carnivore for the past six years. Can you speak on how to continue with stents, please? I am determined to continue eating the same way, meats and salads with vinegar and quality extra virgin olive oil. I have made great strides eating this way. Thank you for all you do.

Love your enthusiasm for ldl talk 😂. Wondering how long it takes for the arteries to repair. Waiting on my CAC test score. 50 yrs (give or take) 😉 of SAD vs 20 mons of Keto.

Got it all without need to slow. Observation and a question. Observation you just described computer networks and protocols for transportation and addressing like TCP/IP -- I would say your could pick up and understand computer network technology without expenditures of much mental energy! Question, what about the adipose tissue deposition that form the different body types. Is the lipoprotein able to address different adipose tissue regions in the body and therefore peoples genetic make-up prefer more of one lipoprotein address over another and therefore lead to different adipose tissue body types or is the lipoprotein only able to have a general address therefore does genetics influence levels of adipose tissues in different regions of the body so when the transportation of lipids are directed to adipose tissues various people have deposition in one region of the body different to another individual who had deposition more in another region of the body? Or a third reason I have not thought about yet?
