Stan GreyJoy I never had too many black screen issues (maybe 2 a month, and I play quite a lot of games), but when it did happen it was mega annoying. PC would take ages to start up again afterwards too. Since they fixed that its been perfect and I could not be happier with the value of my purchase. I’d go for an XT but the non-XT had a mega deal which made it like 70% of the price of an XT so I’d be crazy to not take that.

We're going to need a 4K number of pixels to push VR headsets, with foveated rendering and this kind of upscaling may be the stop gap VR headsets need to actually worry about producing displays with that kind of pixel density... which is a challenge in and of itself.

@@2kliksphilip as a romance speaker we never group numbers like americans do, cause saying "Fifty seven" implies 57 as an unit, a separate number, instead of what it really is, five hundred and seventy, but unlike english, in most romance languages(with the exception of French) number names aren't this gigantic, so "Five hundred (and) seventy" is just "Quinhetos e setenta" which is much smaller, or when talking brands/license plates/codes where the numbers don't actually equate to any value we just spell it out like you did "Cinco, Sete, zero"

a lot of assumptions by the end. we don't yet know if the card shown was "rx 6800xt" (cut down navi 21) or 6900. So we don't know if they have a 3090 killer or not.

it has promise, i have seen some Modern Warfare numbers with a 3080 - and it was a performance range of ~92-105FPS@2160p.
which has some interesting prospects, since the Navi GPU is supposed to be efficient, which potentially leaves a fair bit of Overclocking headroom, which could let one Overclock their Navi to perform the same as a 3080.

4:01 - All of them are being run with DX12. AMD is known to have better support for lower level APIs like Vulkan and DX12. Unless Nvidia did their homework with DX12 and Vulkan, DX11 games will sadly be a lot slower on Big Navi. I'd say It would be something between 3070 and 3080.

NVidia launching their cards without having supply could be more damaging than any battle it fights with big Navi in the tech department. Ive been hearing of delays for up to 3-4 months. Thats too long for many to wait with xmas and Cyberpunk just around the corner, not to mention next gen consoles and therefore games. They have seriously dropped the ball.

I've a 50' 4K TV + Ryzen 5 2600/Vega 56(64). I suppose it will run 1440p/High no problem. But i know that will be different story with something capable of playing 4K/60+ FPS. So Big Navi looks very promising...

@@user-jj4bv5yk5k Im surprised you can run things on high with that size setup. I have the previous generation - Polaris. And on 2560p i have to turn stuff down to low otherwise i get framerate issues. I skipped the previous gen as i wanted to wait for ray tracing. And looks like my patience will be rewarded. As yes - big Navi does look like its the business.

Power consumption is a hidden charge when buying a gpu. You will use the card for tens of thousands of hours, consuming a lot of electricity. It makes a lot of sense to chose a more power efficient gpu.

Sorry to be so pedantic, but "Big Navi" isn't about the physical size of the cards/coolers, it's about enabling the maximum number of compute units.
"Big Navi" would hopefully have 56CUs (Like the Vega 56) or 64CUs (Like the Vega 64).
The RX 5700XT only had 40CUs

I found performance benchmarks for MW using an RTX 3080 and Intel 10900k running at Ultra settings at 4K without raytracing. It seems average FPS is between 85fps - 93fps average. Meaning the RX 6000 series flagship card is about equal to the RTX 3080

what i really want to know its which "RX 6000" are these performance numbers from, that can really change a lot of things. I don't expect the same level of performance of a 3080 from a die as small as the 5700xt, but is this numbers are not the "biggest navi" possible we are in good shape imo. An RDNA 1 architecture with a die size of a 3080 would have give us some resemblance of competition, if you add on top of that architectural and manufacturing improvements, we can finally have some really really good AMD cards
Maybe they cant handle the production of their biggest possible GPU right now for some reason (thermals?), and the numbers we are seeing are not from the "3090 equivalent" and maybe we can be surprised on the reveal. I'm not expecting amd to give us 3090 performance for cheap, but i am expecting them to compete at that level of performance somehow, which will allow the mid tear cut-down cards to be awesome
We really need amd to compete, and if this is the better chance thy have had in like 15 years.

COD MW is extremely optimized for AMD cards. In Warzone with a Vega 64 overclocked to 1700MHz core 1100MHz memory, Medium settings 3440x1440 (1440P Ultrawide) I'm almost always close to 144FPS and it never dips below 120. In Multiplayer it's 144FPS locked, sometimes I see upwards of 160+ FPS. I hope Big Navi is as fun to tinker with as my V64. Vega was really criticized by reviewers because of the Bitcoin mining debacle at the time which shot up prices but now they are the fastest used card for the money hands down. I've seen them equal 2080's at 1800MHz with modded power limits, which for a $220 card nowadays is ludicrous.

It feels like AMD has used this generation to win on the gaming CPU front and get into even more PCs on the GPU side. Essentially theyll continue to dominate the budget gpu space, the mid and upper mid performance/dollars GPU space and now will also have the top end gaming CPU. At 24%+ market share (steam stats) they're set very well for the next generation.

As long as AMD can keep their cards in stock then they'll at least have something on Nvidia.
