SUMMARY
- Music in your headphones, the screen of your smartphone, or just the habit of looking under your feet might distract you from noticing a perpetrator. Look around and behind you from time to time: if the assailant loses the element of surprise, he might change his mind about attacking.
- This is not only a defensive position (just make sure that your hands are on the same level with your chin, and your elbows are half-bent) but also a conciliatory one. This is a way of saying: "Calm down. Let's settle this in peace." At the same time, you let the attacker know that you are capable of fighting back.
- Try to avoid being cornered at all costs. Even if the assailant is bearing down on you, don't step back. Move aside, and try to change your movement trajectory.
- Though you might be skeptical at first about how effective it is, let it sink in for a bit.
If you shout (the best way is to try to sound not scared but angry), it will confuse the attacker. Why? Do you know what is the reaction 80 percent of all people have when they are being attacked? It might be a revelation for you, but they freeze and lose their voice.
- Even if you master all the tricks, you still won't be a superhero. There's no need to try your physical strength against an assailant. Your main objective is to stay in one piece. These are your three immediate goals: wrench free, disorient the attacker, escape.
These are the tips that can help you stay safe. But to tell you the truth, we hope you will never have to use them.

Also, another helpful one: if you are grabbed from behind, its best to kick the attacker in their knees. Then once you are free, knee them in their stomach then run 😊

It does not work even if the attacker is ticklish. Tickling will not make them loosen up the grip. They would only turn more aggressive.
i think tickling would bring more risks.. because then you are putting not only just your hands but also the rest of your body closer to your attacker to tickle them

シZoinks Statistically the vast majority of attackers are men. Everyone has a groin though and it is a good place to strike anyone to gain advantage in a fight.

I practice martial arts and it is expensive to take but definitely worth it I'm in taekwondo and it's a good martial art my opinion and It will definitely help u at lot if u have some sort of stalker or things like that u could just learn most of it on TH-cam to help if u can't afford it

If you've been grabbed by the hand, spin your arm around and wrap you hand around their arm. Place one hand on the elbow and the other bendong the wrist, then, kick them in the back of the knee and break their arm.

hitting the space under the armpits (the one full of air/space when you touch it down) with a sharp palm with your fingers outstretched or with your knuckles. it will cause a lot of pain and can disorient. Makes a good starter for combo attacks. you can also slam both temples (on the side of your head between the line between you eyes and ears) with both hands and with the lower part of your palm, the hard one that moves with your thumb. Do it really hard, and it will make your attacker seriously dizzy

Here's one I learned from a friend a while back when we frequented downtown Atlanta at night. If you're ever in a situation where you have a stranger in your proximity (possibly approaching you) and you're not sure of their intent, look them directly in the eye and acknowledge their presence. You don't have to shout or threaten them, even a simple, assertive greeting like "Hey," can do the trick.
The idea is to mess with their headspace. Think about it: if you're actively stalking someone with the intent of mugging or assaulting them, they're likely very much in their head about the whole thing, with tunnel vision and all. By turning the tables and acknowledging them, it's an unexpected transition of the ball to their court and can be surprising, possibly even disruptive. At the very least, you can gauge their reaction that follows to determine the best reaction to follow.

get a gun. all things can be ineffective but a gun with training will work in a lot more often. There is a reason why they call guns the great equalizer. but if you do not want a gun or you can get one train in the martial art that fits your individual needs. if you do not train you will more then likely not remember watching this. it needs to be instinct or muscle memory. intense situation your motor functions can be compromised. look at soldiers in combat a lot of then will talk about freezing and they are trained. so how do you think you will react better without training? things like this are only good when you can do or remember then. outside of that, all they do is give you a false sense of security. In my eyes that is wrong and pointless.

You need to have a gun permit (IN USA) to be able to do that, but I don't know for other countries. But that's still a good suggestion.
In the usa if you dont have a criminal record you can buy a gun. Everyone should get a concealed carry permit and carry a gun everyday.
okay, now let's say you get grabbed from behind. you go to pull your gun from wherever you keep it on your person (let's say hip). the person who grabbed you moves to restrain that arm, maybe not yet realizing you have gun, to get you to stop moving. now the attacker has control of your arm if not the gun itself and you're unlikely to get a shot at them. shooting randomly can have mixed effects. it might scare them into running, or it might draw their attention to your weapon, in the hand they have control of. from this position of dominance they force the gun from your hand. now they can claim your weapon for their own and you're worse off than you started. In a straight confrontation, a gun can give you an advantage. but if you're taken by surprise it means nothing and can even be turned against you.
Nah fam in my country it's illegal to use a gun on the perpetrator if the perpetrator is using less than a gun, let's say, a knife for example. You must always use something to defend yourself that is less than the attacker is using. I remember a case in which someone broke into someone's house, and the victim hit em in the head with a baseball bat, and he was the one being charged with assault. But guns are illegal here anyway so, doesn't matter.
