Growing up the youngest in my family, I was often ignored, and sadly still am. Whenever I had something I thought was important, but nobody was paying me attention, I would loudly yell 'fine! I won't say it!'. That always got them begging me to say what it was. I would resist for a minute, enjoying the power I suddenly had over their curiosity, then tell them. Worked every time growing up.
I have the same problem, unfortunatly the times I tried that, they will listen but make it a point to laugh and discount what I said, listing every reason why what I just said has no value.
@@SuperGreenPlants This is soo sad. It reminds me of my experience growing up. Because I was much younger and therefore smaller they would pass stuff to each other over my head while discussing it.
@@user-xw1tb7hw4o for people to listen to me, I had to make them think they wanted to. The thing I found that worked was to make them wonder what I was going to say.
@@josediazasmr6014 Normally you will just shift your gaze by a few degree to say you're moving left around them. They automatically notice the shift and accommodate.
When I was younger I knew my mom wouldn’t let me have something so I’d wait till she was on the phone and she’d shake her head yes. That’s how I got stuff I wanted as a kid 😂
When someone is tailgating you on the road, reach up and slowly pretend to adjust your mirror. Most times, the tailgater will back off. It subconsciously reminds people of police officers adjusting their mirror. I learned that years ago and it really works!
I have tried #12 and it works. My neighbor was ranting at me, and instead of arguing back or defending myself verbally, i quietly said, "You did a good job mowing your yard." They stopped yelling (like someone had thrown on the brakes to their mouth!) and walked off. This principle is also found in the writings of King Solomon; Proverbs 15:1 - "A soft answer turns away wrath."
Instead of saying "sorry", say "thank you" (ex: "sorry for being late" would be "thanks for your patience") The other person feels less angry and more flattered , so they tend to forgive you more easily.
Worked in restaurants for 20 yrs. I always told new servers that's the #1 rule to getting better tips. Never say I'm sorry, say I'm on it. Example, I know your food is late. I'm headed back to the kitchen now. If they don't have it ready I'll cook it myself.
I don't agree with that, by saying "sorry" it acknowledges that you are in the wrong, which is what people want to hear when they're tirelessly waiting for you. Saying "thank you" feels like you are taking and profiting something from them, like their time.
That made me laugh because it's so bold. One time I took a bus trip and the guy next to me kept putting his leg on mine. He was very shocked when I finally told him to get his leg off of me. Some people are so weird.
Point into the distance or up in the sky, shielding your eyes as if you`re looking at an object far away. Then give them the thumbs up and wave goodbye, turning on your heels.
when I was young woman, I worked in an all male environment....loved it and most of these guys were so smart, funny that I looked forward to going to work every single day. However, two of them could never speak to me without staring directly at my chest, which would rattle me. One guy was bald and the other had a big belly. My much older and wiser girlfriend told me to stare directly at the bald head or the big belly whenever either of these guys talked to me. It worked!!!!! I rattled THEM.......soon they would shift their eyes to mine and within a week or two I had trained them to look at my face and not my chest while speaking to me. It was so liberating and it also resolved this issue without firing a shot.
One of my biggest issues is initiating a conversion with a boss or people that have made me feel uncomfortable in the past. If they come to me...I have no problem talking and usually we both feel better like, why was I even hesitant to talk in the first place. Still working on getting better at this but one thing is for sure... I know I have to keep pushing myself towards those "uncomfortable situations" for me to really grow past this irrational fear many of us have.
You know some psychopaths would smash your face in right ! You ever lived in NZ ? You walk down the street there staring at people especially gang members they won’t hesitate in slapping you silly until you get a clue
Doesn’t everybody although my alarm is my small dog who won’t leave you alone till your up and out of the bed if you get back in she does it again and again till your not in the bed sad
Here’s how to avoid somebody sitting next to you on the bus or train: if you see someone about eyeing up the seat next to you, tap the seat and smile at them intensely.
I'd get my bosses to approve my requests for parts, vacation time, or pretty much anything by just saying " I don't think that you can approve this, would you tell me who I should go to with my request?" They'd do ANYTHING to prove that they had the authority to approve it.
When you need someone to do something, especially if you have a complaint, in a polite tone, start the conversation with “I have a problem. Can you help me?” This works wonders at the customer service counter. Those poor people are so accustomed to yelling and demands that a polite request for help makes them inclined to give you more than you are entitled to. I did this at an airline counter and got $50 in drink coupons when the only thing I was entitled to was an apology.
If someone is staring at you, look at its shoes..... And then yell WHAT ARE THOOOOOOOOOSE! That person will be too embarrassed to look back at you again.
If you’re trying to get what you want, bring a baseball bat to the conversation, and lightly tap it in the opposite hand while asking the question... People rarely say no to someone with a baseball bat.
To me when someone criticizes you and scolded you never say a word, but instead keep your mouth shut. Coz it makes them puzzled because you aren't easy to manipulate try it!
When you come across unbothered and remain silent while being belittled, some people dont know what to do next with that because they're bracing for a fight or argument not to be ignored or their anger not acknowledged. Now they're just standing there alone huffing and puffing with no outlet and probably embarrassed

When interviewing for a job, try to be the last candidate interviewed. 1st candidate interviewed has a 33% chance of being hired. Last candidate has a 66% chance of being hired. Try to schedule your interview late in the day @ the end of the week.
I was the first interview and had an offer by noon. I told them I could start tomorrow and was told "Oh, sorry.... we have interviews scheduled till the end of the week, but the job is yours"
this happened to me when i was little i guess i fell on my forehead cuz there was gravel stuck on there after but i didn't cry or say anything so my mom just didn't say anything😂😂
this worked for me. after i took the peoples' money, they called some friends in nice uniforms. they gave me a very secured home for 9 months! they even gave me an orange uniform- howd they know orange was my favorite color?! great people
When you arguing back and forth with someone I found that being silent really does work! When I worked in sales people would ask for a discount for no reason, usually repetitively. After saying no twice I would simply stop answering and not say a word. They usually would start up the conversation again by talking about the product themselves without asking for a discount again.
When you did sth wrong, for example when you're late, turn the negative situation into a positive situation, e.g. by saying "Thanks that you waited" instead of "Sorry that I'm late"
When I’m calling a business, I first introduce myself, then ask, “How are you today?” I normally get a slight pause like, “Did she really just ask me that?” Then, they ask the same in return. I also say their name before I get to the business of the call. It normally makes the rest of the conversation go well. People in customer service deal with rudeness regularly; I like to remind them that they are important and appreciated. This also works in public, especially in places where they wear name tags and you can greet them by their name.
That Americanised overly -friendly-from-a-stranger intro, always gets my back up. No stranger on the phone EVER asks how you are today, without wanting something in return. I usually answer "Same as yesterday" or "Never been better". If they reply "That`s great", then I reply, "Why is it great that I remain ill?" All my calls are recorded and the ones with scammers can be hilarious.
@@4391gareth probably because I wrote to the guy who appraised your comment as the funniest ever. It was kind of nonsense to me. So do not worry it was not meant to offend you neither it was addressed to you at all.
yeah my parents would bring me to a psychiatric ward if I became a morning person. Let people be tired already. forcing your body to function top notch when it is depleted is the start of many modern chronic illnesses. It is in fact ok to grumpy, a bit lazy, a bit angry, a monday hater, a tuesday hater, whatever. Be yourself. Life is already so weird, we need to slow down
Thanks for this. Now, if someone's staring at me in a public place I stare at the spot between his or her eyes, make my hands into fists, throw them in the air and shout, "YAAAAH". This breaks eye contact, helps me feel more awake, and I instantly get more room on the bus as people start inching away
It works. When someone starts groping me on public transport I yell really loud and shout out random things. This makes the creeps back away along with all the regular people around me. I love it. I instantly get so much space to freely move about.
If someone is staring at you, yawn, yawning is contagious. If the person yawned, that means that the person is staring at you! Then look at thier shoes to drive them crazy
Also, you could look at their shoes like the video said, but instead of just staring at their shoes all the time you could look back at them with a disgusted expression, then look away as if you didn't want to see what you just saw, they'll think something is wrong with them and will become paranoid, and every time they notice someone is looking at them they'll feel insecure... Well, i actually don't know if any of that would work, but i think it could >_>
The reason why yawning is contagious Because it means that your body is switching modes. I'd someone is switching modes or yawning, your body will think it is time to switch modes. Yawning during a teachers lecture means change the subject, or I'm ready to get active. I'm not an expert.
Well no, not entirely true. Even if you catch a yawn anywhere in your peripheral vision, it could make you yawn as well. Doesn't mean they were looking at you at all.
*"You can take a pause to sip some water to remember a part of your speech that slipped your mind."* *Me:* ~Opens the cap of the bottle to take a sip~ ~Drops the cap down somewhere~ ~Bends down to look for it~ ~Straightens up again to pull my pants up cause they're slipping~ ~Bends back down, then realizes everyone's still staring at me~ ~Gets up~ ~Ends up wasting a whole 10 minutes while embarrassing myself~ *Me:* What? I forgot my speech.
Regarding #12, putting myself in others’ shoes to understand their perspectives is something that I do every day, as that is something that has always come so naturally for me. Being a deeply empathic person is what allows that to happen.😁 And that’s how people know that I do not judge others without knowing and understanding a story/situation.🥰💛🕊️
2:27 I used to do this to my sister when I was younger. Whenever she's on a call, i'd get the mop, start mopping the floor...couple seconds later, hand the mop to her and she'd start cleaning the floor. I wasn't sure why but it always worked lol
when someone is saying something sarcastic or racist in order to insult me, I just tell them I dont get it and ask them to explain it to me. It's so funny watching them squirm
Thompson Family I'm use to sarcasm, profanity,. and insults. it's called growing up mentally, not running to mommy or daddy or the boss and tattle Everytime time someone sticks their finger up their nose looks at you and winks.
I can attest to this as being offered candy as a child made me excited to see them everytime, it was nice. Just make sure its someone you know or at least trustable. But children prolly dunno that XD
If I see someone staring at me, I look beyond their shoulder and get a terrified look on my face as if something is coming after them. Makes them look away fast.
1:43 very accurate, I didn't tend to be close to one of my classmate but since she is my seatmate and I ask her what did our teacher says. We eventually became friends and always talk to each other at school. I miss uu fe
The breaking down a task thing is amazing when you're dealing with ADHD, since being overwhelmed easily and freezing is a common problem for people who have it!
When I want someone to do something for me. I would ask them a huge big favor and beg them to do it. But then I’ll say that it’s okay and instead I would ask them to do what I originally wanted them to do. Works 98% of the time
Always ask for more than you want and lower it down you get a yes most the time example. Wanna borrow a game your brother won’t let anyone ask him to let you borrow $500 and act like you really need them! After he says no act bummed out and then ask hey can I borrow that game then. Works all the time!
When interviewing for a job, you should try to arrange to be the LAST person interviewed. An Executive search firm did a study & found that the 1st person interviewed has a 20% chance of being hired, while the LAST person interviewed has a whopping 60% chance of being hired!
Now, I don’t necessarily think this is proven but when I start to feel sick, I tell myself I’m not and I focus on other things. I start feeling better immediately. The power of the mind is amazing.

Did you know that if you go to an texting app if you put :) or :( it'll make a secret emoji!?

Instead of saying "sorry", say "thank you" (ex: "sorry for being late" would be "thanks for your patience")
The other person feels less angry and more flattered , so they tend to forgive you more easily.
Good Point.
I’ve been doing that since I read about it and it doesn’t seem to help. Now I wonder if I should have been apologizing lol
instead of saying sorry i cheated on you_ say. Thanks for the opportunity to cheat :
(i will let you know what my gal will say)
Worked in restaurants for 20 yrs. I always told new servers that's the #1 rule to getting better tips. Never say I'm sorry, say I'm on it. Example, I know your food is late. I'm headed back to the kitchen now. If they don't have it ready I'll cook it myself.
I don't agree with that, by saying "sorry" it acknowledges that you are in the wrong, which is what people want to hear when they're tirelessly waiting for you. Saying "thank you" feels like you are taking and profiting something from them, like their time.
Loudly say “Look Away” always leaves the starer bewildered 😅

when I was young woman, I worked in an all male environment....loved it and most of these guys were so smart, funny that I looked forward to going to work every single day.

If someone is staring at you, yawn, yawning is contagious. If the person yawned, that means that the person is staring at you! Then look at thier shoes to drive them crazy
Everyone knows this
Duh lol

Always ask for more than you want and lower it down you get a yes most the time example. Wanna borrow a game your brother won’t let anyone ask him to let you borrow $500 and act like you really need them! After he says no act bummed out and then ask hey can I borrow that game then. Works all the time!
@@BRIGHTSIDEOFFICIAL basic guilt tripping
Manipulative
When interviewing for a job, you should try to arrange to be the LAST person interviewed. An Executive search firm did a study & found that the 1st person interviewed has a 20% chance of being hired, while the LAST person interviewed has a whopping 60% chance of being hired!
I got out of bed and yelled "YEAH!" really loud.. I was grounded for a week for waking everyone up.
Time to move out on your own. Lol.
Omg 😂
Wow
Really?!
Ha ha! I was laughing as soon as I read your comment, Anyways, it's probably because you yelled to loud.

Now, I don’t necessarily think this is proven but when I start to feel sick, I tell myself I’m not and I focus on other things. I start feeling better immediately. The power of the mind is amazing.
