I just purchased a Factionlab swede and carbon fibre one for my 09 WRX. $820 Aus dollars which includes shipping and tax but cannot wait. Gonna look and feel incredible

The USDM OEM, say that three times fast, steering wheel is nice but grip diameter is lacking a touch. Regardless of replacement choice of which there are a lot you basically cannot go wrong with an upgrade, but they are $$$. Virtually all offer a wider hand grip which is the key feature. I went with @subispeed , leather and CF 👍😍. For those with sweaty palms Alcantara may not be the best choice feels great but it is like suede marks and stains. In the holy trinity of driving controls, steering wheel, foot pedals and shifter all the OEM USDM is worth modifying. This is how you connect with the car! For people with smaller feet check out the @verusengineering throttle pedal spacer. Makes heel toe easier and it is easy to install. Great mod 👍.
Great Video. Just took a look at Subispeed, and they have it for 459.95! Two OEM/JDM options. Type RA has the red stitching. JDM S4 has a grey/silver stitching.

Want another steering wheel cause the oem stock leather steering wheel gets scratched easily. My ring has scratched the bottom part couple times now lol.
Nice work as usual , I had to have a Nardi , then hated it , stuck with a nice foam cover on the stock STI wheel ! It's cheaper for me here in Canada to buy the whole car , I got a rhd JDM Gc8 STI/Ra for part's for $900 with about $100 damage ! They want rhd vehicles off the road here so the government insurance writes them off for nothing most have less than 80,000 -100,000 km. Wish I had a larger garage !

Just curious, have you ever had a problem with your sunroof leaking? Heard that was an issue on some models. Wanted to get a premium model but, was concerned about that bit.
I have not had an issue with that 🤔not generally a common thing. Ice seen it happen but mainly on cars that are rarely cleaned so all the schmoo builds up in the channels where the glass sits

Ha what a coincidence, definitely a good move. There are a few on the va wrx but almost none on the sti. It’s surprising how many people mess up such a simple thing!
I've been watching most of your videos, I live just up north of seattle and might come home with a 2012 STI after getting it inspected on monday since everything is closed today
@@Smeedia i drive south all the time so maybe sometime we could meet for 📸 it's a sedan, famous blue subies are know for, black rims, very clean. Drove it earlier and drove great. Just gonna inspect it monday and close the deal if it all goes well.
@@Smeedia Literally just wrapped it up. Used blue tape, but couldn't for the life of me get it to line up, i moved literally nothing. Going to have it aligned Friday by M45. Feels and looks great though. SOOOO worth it. Now to cry as i open my wallet and buy the shifter trim and dash trim.
I was considering a new steering wheel wether carbon fiber or that one. Is it decently grippy? Meaning if you try and turn quickly, you hand won't go sliding off of it. Also congrats on 6k subs.

Alcântara is nice but I feel like it won’t hold against Disinfecting wipes. Wipe my steering wheel down Atleast every week
You would be correct, there are certain cleaners to use for the or they fibers will start to breakdown 😫

Its similar to other brands, but has an oem part number which I prefer 😅 plus is cheaper than most after market wheels as well 😁

Tips on keeping the wheel aligned when swapping them?
Use a sharpie or tape as reference points so when you re align you can match them back up 🔥

Thank you! Yes it is very grippy, I had more of a grip issue with the leather wheel over than anything. The ultra suede has not let me down yet lol
On my RA its very grippy. For track days a nice set of driving gloves grip amazing.
