I agree the value of little modifications such as bushings cannot be overstated. They are a great place to start. They can sometimes even be forgotten or overlooked. Your video reminded me that I still have the transmission bushings to replace.
The little aspects are what really bring the big parts together. Bushings are some of my fav6installs to do 🙌🔥
Super stoked every time a video comes out. I dont need forums when i have you
Glad that the videos are helping! Love getting them out there for everyone! 😁😁😁
Wicked video bro! Thanks for the content.
these are actually good mods and i have done the same for my 05 sti wagon. makes car feels alot better with simple mods instead of power mods
Man your editing and video quality is top notch. I LOVE the vids man
Thank you! I love being able to incorporate in some good b roll. Been taking some time think of good ways to add it in without detouring from the content if the videos! 😁
Just found your channel, binged a ton of your videos! Saving up for my 2015 wrx sti in a few months! Making a list of mods.
Continue with the uploads bro, Loving it !
Plan on getting a wrx soon & your channel is everything i need. Really helping me plan out my build
@@deetriggapulla007 glad that the channel is helping out! And keep me posted on the WRX!
Love the channel keep uploading!
I know you already have these things installed on your car but if you ever replace them would be great to see install videos on things like braided hoses. seems really daunting to me! xD
I'm doing some of these on the BRZ Next week so it will be similar for the WRX and STI 😅
Good list! I need a few more bushings for the STi! Can’t wait to get into it! Thanks for the info!
Ive seen your channel grow but never subscribed until now. The production and information has been great. Understanding cars more with your videos really helps me. Your installs feel insanely helpful. I really appreciate you and i plan on getting a 16-18 wrx. I feel like im watching a show on motor trend haha. Good looks buddy 👍🏼
Appreciate the awesome feedback and the support! I strive to make the highest quality that I can achieve with what I learn and have. So it will only get better with time. Follow up when you get the car! Super pumped for you, it's always exciting to snag one! Appreciate the support and feel free to reach out anytime!
Smeedia sir this whole response is wholesome! Can you be my neighborhood mechanic
Picked up my 2020 STI tonight! Appreciate the vids man. Great knowledge and tips
Congrats on the pick up! Jealous of your brakes 🔥 appreciate the feedback and support!
Just out of curiosity, no hate, what made u go for a 2020 and not wait for the next year model?
(Probably a way better purchase than waiting for the next year which probably will have lots of problems at first)
Marshall Sexton all good man. That’s just it, atleast I know the issues and fixes with the current gens engine. Fear of the unknown lol.
I had a wrx before that and it got written off sadly so I figured I’d spoil myself this time lol
@@Deftoner15 nice, I got my '20 STi 2 weeks ago and I love every second of it lol
Good feed back
I have a 04 wrx and it’s basically stock. I’ve been trying to think of things to upgrade and this video just helped me out so much. Thanks!
Sold my 05 wrx for an sti and was planning on buying a short shifter first because of how big of a difference it made on the 5 speed and its been a week now and the 6 speed so much better im not even in a rush to get that anymore 😂
Love the content so much went and got a 2002 wrx wagon I'm loving the car keep it up mate 👌
Appreciate the support and feedback! Hope that the bugeye is treating you well!
@@Smeedia it's doing typical bugeye things but running all 05 sti turbo gear and good old valve covers but other than that it's been a blast to drive going for a tune today hopefully to make it rocket
Keep it up man. Still looking forward to your carbon fiber driveshaft install lol😉😉
Drivetrain mods ❤️ best bang for the bucks that are underrated. Mods that people can't see but driver can feel.
OK so I watched this video before I got my 19' with 6k miles on it June 20' and a lot of this didn't really make sense but now at 40k!! boyyyy does it make more sense now than ever. My car fells like shit to be honest. I think Imma go ahead and order everything today. Just looking for a lil additional input if any being this vid is 4 years old now. Thank you so much for all the info and hard work
Good video man, can't believe I found you on Facebook 🤣 support from Tasmania bro.
@@Smeedia rarely will you find Tasmanians on TH-cam lol. And no worries you make informative content.
w00t w00t, 10 more mods added to my to mod list... Thanks for breaking my bank SMEEDIA!!! Much
Lol they're totally worth it money! At least they're not $1000+ parts. Trying help that bank account a little 😅 appreciate the love 🙌
@@Smeedia did you upgrade to a solid transmission mount? Just realized it wasn't on your list. Is it not beneficial to make the car feels more responsive?
Do you have a vid for installing a shift plate?
Do you recommend the pitch stop mount brace? I have a pitch stop mount sitting on my desk for my 18 sti
It's not needed for the 18s but its got insurance the only affected models are really the 15-16 I have one on my 17 just for the added security of it
I was aware of most of these but I just added to my next thing to buy the Whiteline positive shift kit. Thanks bro... btw im getting the wrap for the wheels tomorrow. I will let u know on ur Monday update how it went haha wish me luck
I just witness tanner have a multi car-gasm 😱. So awesome and exciting for what’s to come.
Love the vids. Can you do one about Downpipe mainly catted vs cat less pros cons and Ouuu score for each
Are you in the PDX area? You've mentioned surgeline and I think PRE a few times. I just bought an 06 FXT few weeks back and am just curious what shops you trust and all that. Love the channel man and can't wait to start wrenching on my Fozz.
I'm up in the south seattle area, but they've tuned a lot of my cars and are the go to for my tuners 🔥 appreciate the support and congrats on the fozzy!
Do any of these void the warranties on the car cause I really would like a short shifter and some of the braided lines but I don’t want to void the warranty on my 2020 wrx if it does. Love the videos keep up the good work!
Braided lines shouldent cause any issue with warranty, as for the Short shifter the OWM option would be the safest bet to stay within all bounds of warranty
If you're going to do the clutch line, I'd recommend saving up another hundred and do Stainless steel braided brake lines at the same time, since they both enhance driving characteristics, and they both use brake fluid. Also, an inexpensive vacuum pump helps a lot when doing this job!
Imagine replacing factory parts that have been tested over millions of kms etc with something that some person thought might be a good idea.
Man, I'm going to be broke watching your videos! Haha! Good looking out. Going to ask my stealership about the warranty on the drivetrain parts. Good looking out!
My engine mounts are pretty shot, but when I did just the pitch stop (perrin), it reduced the engine movement dramatically. good list and editing btw :^)
You had me tense there for a moment. I thought you weren't going to pet the dog!! stress...........releashed!!!
Do any of these mods require a tune?
Any chance you can list the items in the description and attach links?
Is it better to install them all at once or individually and see if it makes a difference. Im a little numb when it comes to small parts, unless its very noticable like the shifter bushings and short shifter.
If you do them all at once you'll see a more noticable difference then doing them all little by little. Normally I buy these to get free shipping on some of my orders but independently you'll notice small increases.
Gotta cop me a hoodie 👀
Most impactful cheap mod I have on my 18 STi. ( I daily my car ) was a Perrin trunk handle haha. Has nothing to do with driving but I make use of it daily and it was $20
What wing is that?
Has anyone tried the tallboy short shifter from kartboy ?😊
Bro I need that hoodie 👏
They're worth it! Super comfy! Link in the description for the store. I wear my black one whenever I'm out in the garage and its chilly out 🔥 regardless the support is appreciated!
Driver mods, improve the life of our cars.
What's the vibration like inside the car after installing all these mounts/bushings?
What’s the proper way to change those shifter bushings 2020 STI? Did you have to take off crossmember?
Yes you will need to drop the cross member, if you do decide to do it I suggest swapping the bushings on the cross member as well 🔥
After a few more cars, what beautiful weighted shift knobs would you recommend now?
Is the Kartboy shift knob ok too?
I've never used the kartboy shift knob before so I cant personally speak on it but it is all personal preference for whatever you like 😁
I would love to drive your car to feel how different it feels/handles. Cheers from Canada
Super stiff and responsive compared to factory STIs it's a night and day difference 🔥 appreciate the support 🙌
Will any of these void the warranty? I doubt the bushings and differential mods will, but would someone try and void the engine bay ones?
Off the top of my head only the short shifter would raise a red flag but probably not void it
Loving how glossy the white looks on your wheels Bro ✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️
@@Smeedia way way back in the 90's I had a Ford cortina mk5 in ocean blue. I put on a set of white Wella 8 spoke, running 205's.Yeah we knew how to do bad back in the old days lol. Oh and also a cherry bomb rear muffler 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🍒🍒🍒
Bro I need some of what your drinking🤣🤣🤣 high energy level again...💯💯
Coffee all the time, literally all day 🤣 gotta keep the energy level up 🙌 lol
Do they make a upgraded rear motor mount for the subi’s? I hear those make a big difference. Looking at picking one up for the focus.
The pitch stop is the rear mount on these cars 😁 they're. Little funky lol 2 motor mounts like any car, then the pitch stop is the third mount 🔥
I’m struggling to save up for the new tomei extreme cat back for the ST, the single exit out the center is kinda iffy. Haha
Ayeee torque solutions, Local florida owned company. Absolutely the best guys out there
dude your car, BARELY fits inside that garage lol. hats off to you for having to get that perfect everytime lol
Lol the garage was built in the 60s so I'm working with what I got 😅 haha but it fits! Just barely lmao
Just curious are any of these modifications a danger to warranty if a claim has to be filed?
Unfortunately yes, I've got a couple videos going over what can and can't be done within warranty 🙏
Is your shifter a torque solutions? Also does your shift knob have any vibration sounds in certain gears? Like it sounds like it’s coming from the reverse lockout.
Hmm idk maybe different brands? I have the kartboy with all the bushings as well but recently it started making those low tone humming sounds like if I put pressure in a gear it stops and when normal driving it’s there till
You apply pressure to the knob. Lol I hate noises!
What Trans mount you recommended for daily with less NVH? Group N or Perrin?
Hey bro was sup question should I switch out my Wrx shifter for an STI short shifter. Is it even worth it
Looks like I'll be spending another $1000 OoooOoo!
One you're missing that is HUUUUGE! Shift linkage bushings from Turn in Concepts (not sure if anyone else makes these). These replace the bushings that are either loose from factory or degrade over time within the actual shift rod linkage. The other stuff you talk about aside from the shift lever are about keeping transmission and engine in place, these are actually between your hand and the transmission itself.
I was getting a lot of movement in my shifter (side to side play when in gear or neutral) before I put these in, now tight as a drum. Can't recommend enough.
Cobb makes these as well I got mine in a short shifter kit, came with a Cobb shift knob, short shifter, and the bushings one for reverse as well. It was like 125 bucks
@@dannystumpf321 I don't think they do.
Directly attached to the shifter assembly there are 5 bushing sets: Lever Pivot (around the bolt within the cabin under the boot), shifter stay pivot (the white plastic one that sits in the cup of the shifter stay), shifter stay front (attaches the stay rod to the transmission under the car), shifter stay rear (attaches the stay rod to the chassis), and what I'm talking about - the shift linkage bushings.
The linkage bushings are like $30 for the set, and even TIC doesn't categorize them for the VA STI, though when I emailed them they verified fitment.
@@Smeedia I'm not associated with them just tried these because I had a little wobble.

Will you void any warranty if you install a short shifter?
Would it be worth it if i pick the sti short shifter over other brand ?
great channel , very informative love all the videos you make
get your thighs off my bolsters . I yell that at my tech when he services the WRX I undeservingly drive
not allowed to shut the door and touch the matt black tape only the glass . that s what it says on the notes of my service tickets .
help me, I may be too neurotic too own the 2019 series gray WRX
How do you like the series grey? I've seen a few of them driving around but the wouldent be able to justify the price personally. They do come with the brembos correct? And appreciate the support!
@@Smeedia they do not come with the brembos only 2020 sport package has them
I am very but hurt by that and plan to fix it at a very high cost
I have priced out the oem sport package brembos
and may be I should just do the stop tech
any help with this would be great
Subaru aint fooling nobody with them cheap red calipers and equally pathetic JURID brake pads
You keep recommending different brands of short shifters in different videos. Kartboy, then now Torque Solution. Which one is best?
Be careful with installing a Pitch Stop Mount. On 16+ STI's, people are reporting cracked pitch stop braces when not installing only the pitch stop mount. That being said I would go for a trans or engine mount when looking at the cost of a mount + brace.
The 15-17 WRXs have seen the issues. Subaru releases a TSB to fix any of the models that have cracked. But I agree with the pitch stop mount brace. Helps a ton 🔥
Me: please say grab a ball.
Shmeedia: a smooth round thing.
Me: dang it..
Smeedia love the content man! My buddy just got a wrx and I’m looking at an sti to go with my frs. Your tips have been insanely helpful so far. Appreciate all you do man. Much love
Really good combo! I love having my STI and BRZ. Glad the videos are helping my man 🙏🔥
Do you have a twitter my dude?
Smeedia add me bro @prodilovechris least i can do is make u laugh in return for all this knowledge u drop
Nice work Subie brother , my favourite up econo power gain is remove weight , no body gets in the back of my STI so bye bye back seat , air conditioning , spare tire , etc. !
@@Smeedia Yes , heat exchanger n front of rad too , just need to set code to turn off cel ! That fckr is heavy and it all is very noticeable power wise !
just bought two shirts and a beanie #subiesquad
Eyyyyy!!!! Appreciate the support! The shirts are surprisingly more comfortable that I thought they were going to be!
@@Smeedia cant wait to get them...plus its like low 30s here so i need a new hat
I know you've had years of experience driving these cars but a lot of these modifications (here and older videos) seem kind of habit now. Did you start getting into these bushings, braces etc out of necessity, or just seeing it on the market and giving it a try ?
Started out as giving it a try, then I got used to always having them and now they've become necessity for me. I want the most feedback I can get out of the car and bushings, mounts and anything tactical I touch I want to give me feedback
@@Smeedia That's what I figured. One last inquiry if I may. My WRX came with a STI STS, do you still think it'd be worth going aftermarket ? This is my first daily MT, and the throw doesn't bother me, but I also don't know how nice it could be.
@@ProfessorPanyck honestly the OE STS is not that short IMO I always opt for an after market version 🔥
