  • I'll be taking my Swift to Japfest and Shedfest 2024, so I'd better get to freshening it up a bit and adding some Seats, RGB Light Kits and doing some cosmetic maintenance. Will I actually complete my list quick enough this time?

    As Alex says “modify before repair” with regards to that nasty dent 😮

      Literally haha 😅by the time shedfest comes that dent will be long confined to the history books

    Interesting re the seats - worth getting them repaired by a decent upholsterer (both or either set)🤔
    I expect your rear light cluster will dry out with a hair dryer and use some seek and seal or similar (as used on boats etc). If push comes to shove drill a hole in the base, let water out, plug with blanking grommet and a smaller hole in that - but don't let it drain into metal body work, it'll cause corrosion ✌️💜
    Funny you should say about the OSF light unit, mine does the same, I have polish them - by hand, plus treat at least once a year, it's the lacquer and such like they treat acrylics with, it's a bodge really on the part of the manufacturer.
    On a practical note - have you waxoyled (or similar) the front sub frame and around the rear suspension mount points etc? They seem to get rusty - abroad they look like they fail from time to time due to corrosion?
    Your "OCD" re warm up, what brand of oil do you use?🤔👍
    I dont do a lot of miles in mine, went to an appointment the other day, got walloped twice by tossers in gritters, nowehere to hide both times, grit was bl@@dy windscreen or bonnet height going nowhere near the roads!😳🙄🙄🤬 Useless, what with that and bl@@dy potholes etc. Cant they do anything right, local authorities and central government 😳🙄🤬🤕💔

      Not a lot know about these seats as it seems. It's just the drivers side seat that has the blow in it and I reckon I found the guy to sort it for me.
      Guess I'd better get used to polishing it then haha, I haven't tried so far so will be nice to see them fresh again for a bit.
      At the moment no it's running completely bare underneath, I have thought about it but with it already absorbing 10 years worth of road muck salt dirt etc I'm wondering if there's a point or if i'll just trap old moisture and crap in there. I can imagine some might fail in the future, thankfully haven't seen any so bad yet.
      I use Suzuki Shell Helix 5W-30 for mine every time, with a standard oil filter.
      Takes the mickey that I'm sure they do it on purpose lol. I'd love the day to see where local authorities actually do something right, roads are as bad as ones that never got paved over in the first place! poor cars

    Will the 33s seats slot right in on the rails for the 32s?

    • @wallsworkshop
      @wallsworkshop  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Supposedly they’re a direct bolt in yeah but I’m not sure if anybody can absolutely confirm that. I’ll soon find out lol

    Mine has a leaking valve cover gasket. Have u had this issue?

    • @wallsworkshop
      @wallsworkshop  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No I haven't had anything go wrong with the valve cover gasket. I don't think its too hard of a job to replace tbf I had to do it on my '02 swift when I still had it.

If you need any inspiration check out my other videos pretty much everything I've done is on here.

    Hey man can you please let me know the model number of the infotsinment system you have, i just bought a swift sport and it looks like it has the same as yours but i cant get it to work for the life of me, cheers mate 😂

    • @wallsworkshop
      @wallsworkshop  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I've just checked the eBay listing of the one I purchased and it doesn't have a specific model number, good start 🤣 Is yours turning on at all or is it the actual functions within the head unit? I think these style tablet head units are all very similar in style with the Swifts it seems.

      @@wallsworkshop hey man thanks so much for the reply I've managed to sort it now cheers mate, love the videos keep them coming. Just bought a swift sport myself one owner on 22k and 14 plate. Came with 18 inch wheels so thinking of going down to 17 eventually

    • @wallsworkshop
      @wallsworkshop  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@echo_waves9439 no worries man glad you could get it sorted. Very nice mate that's mega low miles for a 14, hard to come by now. I'd definitely ditch the 18's and go back to 17's to avoid rubbing/scraping in the future plus your acceleration will be a smidge better on 17's

    • @echo_waves9439
      @echo_waves9439 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@wallsworkshop cheers mate nice one yeah I heard there's definitely a measurable difference between the 18 and 17. When I read up on it and checked it out I was like "Nooooooo" 😂😂 fortunately the wheels and tyres I have on now are near enough brand new so fingers crossed I can trade them in somewhere

    • @wallsworkshop
      @wallsworkshop  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@echo_waves9439 😂😂 That's good though, get a little bit of use out of them, clean them when you're ready to change them and get them sold privately and you'll get the most money out of them that way, to go towards your next set. That's what I'll be doing when I finally get rid of my EP3 R wheels.
