The last few days of 2024... 🪄 I feel so grateful for the Simple Happy Zen community! THANK YOU, from the bottom of my heart, for being a part of it. I wish you all a wonderful and cozy last few days of 2024 and I hope you're having a relaxing time. See you all again on January 1st with a new video! 🌸 With love, Vera
For the twitchy eyes... Make sure that you are not getting monosodium glutamate or NutraSweet in your food. Supplementing with magnesium, getting good sleep and restricting screen time all help. XO
Beautiful ideas, thank you. I recently did a journaling exercise to discover my values before choosing my "25 in 2025". I discovered that tolerance, learning and calm are top of my list. Your list has so many wonderful ideas that align with these values.
Love the “gentle” in the title. Was already thinking of some of these for 2025 like improving sleep, tackling small sections in my home, and keeping in touch. My dog gets a hug every hour. Warm wishes for the holidays and year-round❤
Aw love that, a hug every hour!! Sending you and your doggo warm wishes back :) Thank you so much for all your support (just sent you a little message on Patreon too) and the good vibes, and have a wonderful 2025!
Hello 👋🏻 I feel you should take your time and not think too much about it. What we can do as your community, to support you is watch your previous videos and let it run even we cant watch actively. I did that before when you had given a break. We have to help each other make life easier. For the good of all. That is what I will do, I dont want you to go through another burnout, so i will keep watching allll the videos! Love and hugs from Dubai! 🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️ oh and Merry Christmas 🎄🎁🎅🏻🌟🦌
Vera, I’m so happy you recognize a change is needed in your work schedule. I’m happy you’re prioritizing your own self-care. Those here and on Patreon care for you and will continue to support you in every way we can. You are loved and appreciated so much 🥰
Hello, And please do not be scared about taking good care of yourself. When you are in tune and balanced, everything will flow along easily! You are very popular. I love your program and I believe that your fans will fine with this! After all, you are our living example of Happy Simple Zen, Much Love from Laara in Canada
Glad you’re going to make a change in your upload schedule that will help you have a more balanced life. We are all here to support you. You are leading by example 😊⭐️
Dear Vera! Your youtube channel was with no doubt the most precious of all of my internet findings this year! The simplicity of your videos, the calmness, this no-rush approach, which doesn't wind up emotions is so, so, so lovely! And also, I do appreciate the fact that you never preach at us - instead, you inspire, you support, you give ideas. Your idea that "you can like things without necessarily owning them" absolutely blew my mind! And if I may boast a bit, I went to a Christmas crafts fair (!!!) a week ago and I didn't buy anything! Although, you know, didn't I see lovely pieces there! But I just appreciated them, just like you inspire us to do! I cannot express how much I value the truthfulness of your content. Thank you so so much. I do hope you have a lovely magical Holiday season, however you decide to spend it! Warm greetings from Poland! 🙂
Hello, my name is Vera too, and I'm a new subscriber from Northern Ireland. I'm going to try to remember God created me a human BEING and I don't always have to be doing! I've decided to write down your recommendations for new year resolutions and try a good few of those as well. Thank you for sharing this very helpful video. I wish you a very happy Christmas and hope the coming year is a good one for you in every way. May God bless you and those you love. Vera❤
Oh, hi Vera! 🤗🥰 Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts, happy to hear you found some ideas here!! Wishing you a wonderful Holiday season and all the best for 2025!!!
Taking more time is a great idea. I'm 75 and I practice a lot of what you listed. As you get older you realize that some of the things you think you should be doing really are just busy work.
Loved this video Vera - you had me at the title. Some of your points were also on my list - I love the happy photo and songs ideas! It was so refreshing to hear someone talk of being less productive rather that more next year. I for one would hate to loose you to burnout and would rather have fewer videos from you than non at all ! You doing less gives others permission to do the same which is win win in my book! Hers to a slow minimal happy and peaceful 2025. Sending all of the Simple Happy Zen community much love 🥰
Yes, I dislike tossing food and wasting. I was taught never to waste anything. I am physically challenged so on those "good" days that I can do some cooking, I always make enough to freeze for future meals - it's a win win. Absolutely, I met someone when I was working a corporate job and 35 years later...we are still friends. She was a cleaning lady and we immediately bonded. You are so right, most people treated her as her "job position" and not as a human being. That saddened me and still does to this day whenever I am at dr.'s appointment or out in public, I make sure to interact with others with kindness and compassion. At over 6' tall, I always ask if I can get anything for them on higher shelves. It just seems like common sense to me as I was raised by a handicapped mother so maybe I am just more aware of situations in society and interacting with others. After being in the working world for all my life, when I wasn't able anymore to work, I felt completely invisible. Literally people will hit my cane and not even say "sorry" or "oops". Very frustrating and saddens me. Today's society has seemed to be a "me me" society and it doesn't seem to be within my heart of hearts. I found you during covid and appreciate you so very much. Your kind and gentle spirit is what the world needs more of. Thanks again for your lovely videos and sweetness to the world you give. x's lj
I am thankful for you and your videos this year! Here in the US, 2024 was a very stressful year for me, for both public and personal reasons. I have been following some of your tips on self care and it has made a world of difference. I will certainly be slowing down and continuing to declutter in 2025 to help combat anxiety and negativity. Wishing you a healthy and happy holidays and new year!🎉❤
Thank you for sharing your thoughts Leah! I can imagine the public reasons for it having been a stressful year... I'm sorry to hear that, but I'm happy to hear that simplifying and slowing down has been helpful for you!! Wishing you a lovely holiday season as well, and all the best for 2025!! Take good care!
My gentle goal for 2025 is to learn more about botany and even herbalism because I love plants so I want to focus more on that next year 😊 Thank you for the list, I really like the 100 days of happiness challenge and to take more everyday pictures! It could be a good way to document my journey with my botany studies, just for me and not for social media.
Hello from Seattle, Washington. Wonderful video as always, Vera. I’ve learned so much from you this year. I had a great conversation with my 17-year-old son about 6’s culture, and I could visibly see his shoulders relax. Kids have so much 10/10 pressure on them here in the US. I’m so grateful to you for sharing this message in a previous video. I’m happy for you for creating a new uploading schedule and setting that boundary for your wellbeing. We all want a happy, healthy Vera!
I can also be prone to putting a too pressurized time-frame on things that could go at a slower pace. So your change is a good model for me as I set a goal of a more consistent creative life. Neither of us has to prove anything by doing more, faster. Thank you for leading by example!
Just wanted to say I appreciate all the work you have done throughout the year to bring us all calmness and wise words. Happy Holidays to you and your loved ones ❤🌲❤️
Such a refreshing approach to New Year's goals! I love the focus on self-care and slow living-it’s such a needed reminder to prioritize what truly brings us joy and peace.
Vera, what a wonderful video. Lots of great ideas. Practices to help one through the whole year. It is true when you reach a certain age you do become invisible. I noticed it in my mid 60's. I was raised to have respect for the elderly. I don't see it much these days. I believe there should be respect for all ages. Everyone has something to offer. We all have a connection. Happy solstice.☮️🌎🎄
Pruning = growth! All will be well!! 🙌🏼 Your channel will be just fine and will probably be even better. I mean… it’s amazing now. I can’t imagine what will get better. But good things happen when boundaries are in place 😊
We will enjoy your videos whenever you make them! No need to have so much pressure! I am at a point in my life where I'm considering retiring a bit early but sometimes it's hard for me to figure out how much self-care is too much self-care! and when to just push through the work. I think all decisions will be clear in time and with patience. Thank you for your videos - they are always well-received. Take care!
Yes, please Vera~ take good care of yourself! I am glad you recognize what you need to do before it becomes a problem. Your videos are always a delight whenever you post them. Enjoy the holidays and we'll see you when we see you.
What a WONDERFUL example of taking care of yourself in the New Year!! So glad that you've got the ability to self reflect and show yourself grace! Enjoy your slower uploading schedule, and have a lovely 2025. We look forward to hearing from you on your new schedule! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻
You are doing a great deed by rescheduling your uploads. You need to take good care of yourself, foremost because you need to, also because you deserve to be healthy and happy and last.. because we want to have you with us on TH-cam for a very long time. No more burnouts!! You do you, boo. Love from Spain❤
Same with the twitchy eye muscle & stress connection! I'm a teacher & many times throughout my career my eye has twitched during really busy exam times or at the end of the school year when so many things need to be done. I love your videos, Vera, & have definitely been in the same situation recently where I needed to step back & put less pressure on myself to achieve so I can preserve my mental & & physical health. We will still be here to enjoy your videos whenever you're able to post them & completely understand if you space them out a bit more! ❤
Thanks for keeping those clips where you fumble on words because in today's generation of AI where everything regarding content and art is becoming perfect you are embracing imperfection. 😁 Love from India ❤
Bravo for changing your work pace. It’s a huge task producing one video each week. I don’t think it would bother any of your followers that you upload less frequently. Your content is great. I, for one, will look forward to every one of your thoughtful and soothing videos. Happy New Year to you.
Wonderful video, my favorite part was the sleeping dog visuals with that goal. 😊 I do hope you enjoy getting extra time to practice self-care. From me personally, if you find you need a full 2 weeks between videos, that is ok too. I enjoy your effort in each video, and I believe quality is better than quantity. Take care of yourself and enjoy the holidays! See you next year! 😊😊😊
I think a lot of people don't think about the tipping of others too much. I was a waitress and it was always so kind when people would leave me large tips for food that didn't really cost that much. It made me realize I was doing a good job in being hospitable and I like to do the same to others now that I am older and not a waitress at all. I always walk up escalators. It is the reason they were actually invented, to just make your walk slightly faster. I do take the stairs instead if they are there because I find I feel better and even get to the top faster than having to wait to walk around people just standing on the escalator. . and I am one of those fast walkers (maybe it is having long legs). Loved your full list and you do a great job working on this channel. I have enjoyed it over the year or so I have watched you.
I like number 8. It stood out to me. I think another good idea is a “100 days of gratitude challenge”. Same idea bubble; but it’s things you’re grateful for instead of just happy. First thing going in the album is my house.
Happy holiday Vera, thank you for sharing your wisdom, beautiful spirit, hints and tips. You bring so much value and lovely vibes to my life, I really appreciate you and will continue to through 2025 ❤🎄😊🙏
My first thought was you'll going to say 1,5 weeks uploads! I think it's a great idea! You need to put yourself first! I'm planning to spend more time on learning Japanese and have more time reading a book. Fijne feestdagen en een gelukkig Nieuwjaar!
i do not get a new book until I read what I have/I take breaks cuddling my cats/ I use things up before I buy more (mostly)/ I take lots of pictures of my cute cats/I do not throw away much food/ boundaries are good/stairs are in my house/ hugging my cats fun
I just found your channel and I think it was meant to be. I am using SELF as my word for 2025. Quite a a few of the goals you suggested are on my list. I need to look after me.... Thankyou, and looking to following along with you in the NY. Merry Xmas 🎄🎁😊
Vera, Thank you for who you are in every way and the beautiful influence you have on the world ❤ May you have a very merry Christmas, and a recuperative, blessed end of the year. Looking with great joy to see you again in’25!
Your videos are of such quality that I will always look forward to each posting. I have found probably too many channels that are interesting to me and so less postings are actually welcome as I should be more disciplined with my own time. Thanks for letting us know. And to keep producing such useful and inspiring videos you do need to practice your own self care. Hugs!!!
I always check out the workout clothes at the thrift store! Sometimes I find pieces that look completely new (maybe the person who donated them bought the wrong size) and I found multiple Lululemon pieces :)
I can't quite pinpoint why but I've found that this year has been hard for so many people, family, friends, acquaintances. In some cases it hasn't included anything particularly challenging or sad, for others there has been a reason, health issues, or many random reasons. Everyone I speak to is glad the year is ending. This is weirdly true even for those who have had a great year. It's an obvious time to take stock and think of changes we might make. I think maybe the number one thing I'd say to people is be gentle with yourself and others. Your list here is a good one. So to anyone reading this have a Merry Christmas and Happy and healthy New Year. Seasons Greetings. Best wishes for your personal celebrations.
Thank you, Vera. ❤ I hope you have a peaceful and joyful rest of the year! Yes, I have that twitching eye sometimes. It can be quite annoying. I find it helps to get some time away from screens to rest my eyes + make sure I’m hydrated enough as well. I’m not sure if it’s the same for you but I hope that helps! 😊
Ah yes!! I think it must've been from looking at screens for long periods in a row. I've been editing sooooo many hours these last couple of weeks. Definitely need to be mindful to rest my eyes more. :) Take good care and wishing you a lovely end of 2024, and all the best for 2025!!
@ I hope with your new schedule you can find a better pace for your work, rest, and better balance overall! Do what you need to do to take good care of yourself. ❤️ I wish you the best for 2025 as well! 😊
For the “I have all the time in the world mentality”, I find that just making the effort of being in the present moment makes time feel so much longer! 5 minutes feel like 30 minutes :)
Happy Holidays, Vera! Thank you for practicing what you preach. You’re setting a good example for everyone. I have been spacing out my chores throughout the course of the evening so I don’t have to rush around right before bedtime and it has helped me immensely. I am definitely getting more restorative sleep now. That and no screens. If I’m doing a restorative yoga class or listening to relaxing music, I turned the phone upside down and cover it with a towel. Lol. Thank you for all your wonderful, gentle tips for 2025. I’m going to do the 100 photos of what’s making me smile challenge. Lots of love and best wishes for a wonderful New Year!
Ending 2024 grateful and thankful. Still counting our good blessings going into 2025. Cooking is most definitely the most favourite activity but making it healthier and easier processes. Therefore meal planning is important. Once one accepts your lot being content contributes to wellbeing. Love self compassion to enjoying simple pleasures of life. Avoid wastage so good to time to finish up old stock. I suppose watching a lot Korean dramas it makes sense to pick up Korean language.Looking forward to downsizing do decluttering slowly is ongoing work in progress. I am so glad I took many photographs since I was young that reminds me of many precious memories. Totally agree with budgeting and avoiding food wastage.❤
LOVE your example of taking great care of yourself ❣ I'm looking now at what I can reschedule or change up a bit to reduce pressure that is not necessary and/or was self-imposed. Thanks for all you post! Anne Australia🦘
I definitely recognize the buying books before you finish the ones you have (though I had managed that at one point, it just didn't last) lol (and BookTube is probably my favorite content on YT to consume lol). I am working on Japanese, and i also love reading books on Japan.
im trying to have these goals incorporated in mine too, slow living and minimalism. sometimes, i get caught up, this kind of videos remind me to stay on track and get back on it! thank you so much!!🎉🎉🎉 Happy Holidays!
I have a bottle of perfume I am working on using up. I left it out so I remember to spray it on daily. I have boxed up a shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, and hand cream so I have no excuse for thinking I will run out. On a definite no buy for those. Nice tips. I always acknowledge the cleaning staff at work and always take the stairs.
It’s so good to know your limits and work on changing how you approach your work. Because you care so much and are so sincere and wanting the best quality of every communication, I’m sure it takes its toll. You may even find you need a bit more time,.or not.Hopefully you’ll find the extra days to be satisfying and not be thinking always still of work, which is so easy to do with creative work. (well you still can write things down and then…leave them ha) I was afraid you were leaving for good.
Wonderful ideas! I am definitely going to incorporate some of these into my 2025 goals. Thank you for your content, I really enjoy watching all of your videos. Best wishes and happy holidays!
My goal is to get yoghurt-making into the regular routine. We go through almost 2 gallons a week, so I need a large batch strategy. I would also like a goal of finding a semi-close neighbor to buy eggs from. Last goal is to learn to cook 2 new dishes into the rotation that don't require a recipe.
When I clicked this video, I was already starting my list in my head with: trying new recipes, including focaccia! I'll be decluttering my home very soon, because I'll be moving back into an RV this year! :0 it's between 32 and 35 square meters, depending on how you count floor space in such a thing, so it's a large one. But still smaller than a whole 2 bedroom house! I think I want to find a way to trick myself into reading more books this year. I push to do other things and then have no more oomph for books at the end of the day. Maybe I need to block out time in the morning instead of the evening... Take care of yourself!!! We adore your videos, but will only continue to get them long term, if you don't burn out! I'm glad you're being proactive about managing your well-being and not just powering through. Listen to your body and mind and give yourself that space while the voice isn't screaming at you to slow down.
Your content feels essential for me right now. But at YOUR pace. Please take super fab care of YOU ❤. It will be the whole point; living first in health & happiness/ wholeness… in order to provide the perspective that you do!
Hello Vera, really enjoy and appreciate your videos.Yes I have those twitchy eye moments plus ‘floaters’in my eye and I know it’s stress related.Have a lovely relaxing Christmas and new year! We are here.,once a week twice a week or once a month which ever is best for you.❤
Merry Christmas! 🎄 And I’m so glad you’re making your publishing schedule more manageable. Love your content, but burnout isn’t worth it. Much joy to you in the new year. ❤
Thank you so much!! Yes you're right, I'm glad to be putting my health first 🤗❤️ And I'll still put my heart into every video I make. Wishing you all the best for 2025!!!
To make focaccia , any variations, you need true extra Virgin olive oil , the most hijacked product ever , and fresh rosmarino , isnt easy to find ... onions are just fine to add

For the twitchy eyes...
Make sure that you are not getting monosodium glutamate or NutraSweet in your food. Supplementing with magnesium, getting good sleep and restricting screen time all help. XO
@@quietlife7186 Thank you! I think I was having too much screentime from editing videos 😊
Beautiful ideas, thank you. I recently did a journaling exercise to discover my values before choosing my "25 in 2025". I discovered that tolerance, learning and calm are top of my list. Your list has so many wonderful ideas that align with these values.
Wish you a great holiday season and peaceful new year
Dear Vera ❤ an upload every 2 weeks is enough 🩷🌸🩷 don‘t feel pressured because of the algorithm… we will still appreciate you. Love from Germany 🩷🇩🇪🩷
I am 71 and live on the third floor, no elevator. Built in exercise. As we age we must force ourselves to move more.
What a great perspective on the challenge of 3 flights of stairs…. Built in exercise! ☺️
My goal is to enjoy things more, without thinking ahead or feeling guilty.
Twitchy eyes muscles? Yes, it's from stress. You're doing the right thing by slowing down. We'll still be here!
I get the twitchy eye. definitely when I am stressed. I think I had a twitchy eye for about 2 months after my mother died.
Also, lack of magnesium!
Lack of magnesium also..
Love the “gentle” in the title. Was already thinking of some of these for 2025 like improving sleep, tackling small sections in my home, and keeping in touch. My dog gets a hug every hour. Warm wishes for the holidays and year-round❤

I'm going to try the 'use it up' list. I love that idea. I have so many books and projects that I would like to finish.
Love from India ❤
Bravo for changing your work pace. It’s a huge task producing one video each week. I don’t think it would bother any of your followers that you upload less frequently. Your content is great. I, for one, will look forward to every one of your thoughtful and soothing videos. Happy New Year to you.
Wonderful video, my favorite part was the sleeping dog visuals with that goal. 😊
I do hope you enjoy getting extra time to practice self-care.
I have enjoyed it over the year or so I have watched you.
dear vera this is very wise to take more room for yourself - please do it - love u- everything you are doing for YOURSELF is wright!!!
I like number 8. It stood out to me. I think another good idea is a “100 days of gratitude challenge”. Same idea bubble; but it’s things you’re grateful for instead of just happy. First thing going in the album is my house.
Please take care of yourself! Upload when you can and not on a schedule. We’ll be here.
Thank you, I will :) Also yay for learning Japanese and having more time for reading!!! Fijne feestdagen en een geweldig 2025!!
Glad you can recognize what you need to do to take care of yourself. Wishing you and yours Happy Holidays! 💖
i do not get a new book until I read what I have/I take breaks cuddling my cats/ I use things up before I buy more (mostly)/ I take lots of pictures of my cute cats/I do not throw away much food/ boundaries are good/stairs are in my house/ hugging my cats fun
Thank you Vera for the inspiration, and also for this year full of calming, friendly video content! Happy holidays!
You're so welcome, thank you for being a part of the community!! 🤗🎄🙏 Happy Holidays and wishing you a lovely 2025!!
Definitely the best new year's 'resolutions'! Congratulations and a big THANK YOU🎄
Happy Holidays, Vera!
Vera thank you so much for all the knowledge you shared with us this year. You're amazing, the world is better because of you ❤
Ending 2024 grateful and thankful.
Vera, you are doing the right thing. Take good care of yourself!
LOVE your example of taking great care of yourself ❣ I'm looking now at what I can reschedule or change up a bit to reduce pressure that is not necessary and/or was self-imposed. Thanks for all you post! Anne Australia🦘
Your soul is beautiful.
Thank you every moment.
Happy Christmas.
So glad to hear it! 🤗💕 Wishing you all the best for 2025!!!! And happy holidays!
Wishing you happy and peaceful holidays. 😍
Love your channel and love that you’ve realized you need more time for yourself!
Take care of yourself! We will watch anytime you upload something new!
No worries Vera!! It makes total sense 😊
I hugged a tree today on a nature walk for Winter Solstice!
Thank you for all you do. I can always count on your videos to take a beat. Peaceful ❤ Of course I want that peace for you. Breath friend.
WE LOVE YOU ❤ glad that you’re making the right decision and taking care of yourself. Happy New Year 🎉
Hello Vera, Thankyou for another lovely video ! Merry xmas ! See you again next year xo❤️🎄
See you next year. Merry Christmas ❣
Heel veel dank voor al je prachtige posts Vera. Fijne feestdagen en het allerbeste voor 2025!
Wonderful ideas! I am definitely going to incorporate some of these into my 2025 goals. Thank you for your content, I really enjoy watching all of your videos. Best wishes and happy holidays!
Love all these ideas...i am one of the people who need these reminders..to take time to enjoy what makes me feel happy and at peace Happy Holidays!!🌲🌲
So happy you enjoyed the video! 🤗🍵🎄 Happy Holidays to you too, and a wonderful 2025!!!
Thank you again for this inspiring Video! I feel you, take you the time you need! We all learn from you...
A great video!! There are many great ideas!! 💡 Merry Christmas!!! 🎄⛄
Merry Christmas Vera, have a lovely break, yeah I get twitchy eye lids too, for years now from time to time, love your work ❤️
Lovely video, Vera. Merry Christmas and the best to you and your family in the New Year. 🎄❤️
Thank you for all you share with us…my favorite Channel. Blessings over you!
Happy Holidays dear Vera! Thank you for all those wonderful videos.❤
Thank you so much Carmen for being here, and for all your support and the good vibes!!! Wishing you a lovely holiday season and a wonderful 2025!!
You are so sweet. Thank you.
Merry Christmas & a very happy new year.
Hello Vera, really enjoy and appreciate your videos.Yes I have those twitchy eye moments plus ‘floaters’in my eye and I know it’s stress related.Have a lovely relaxing Christmas and new year! We are here.,once a week twice a week or once a month which ever is best for you.❤
Great ideas. Thank you for sharing.
Gracias, me gusta mucho tu contenido. Feliz Navidad y Feliz Año 🎉. Un saludo desde Barcelona 😘

I love you & your contents are really helpful. Thank you
Merry Christmas!
Vera, love you and your videos ❤❤❤❤❤❤
To make focaccia , any variations, you need true extra Virgin olive oil , the most hijacked product ever , and fresh rosmarino , isnt easy to find ... onions are just fine to add
I'm so curious how it will turn out :) Thanks for the tip!
@SimpleHappyZen the funniest part is trying to find out what kind of focaccia , each region had is kind but pure olive oil in a basic of any recipe
King Arthur Flour has lots of fabulous free recipes for all kinds of baking on their website. I’ve found several favorite recipes there.
