I know the object was to use up your t-shirt yarn, but honestly I pictured crocheting around coffee stirrers, or straw, stiff ribbon, or even pipe cleaners with larger hooks as a practice project for kids. This is super versatile! Your mind must always be going, I'm so impressed!
If living in areas that get really COLD OR SNOWY you could use thicker (#4)yarn around the tshirt yarn for a thicker/ warmer scarf. My niece received a poncho where someone cut used denim jeans and cut them to make the poncho then used fleece to line the poncho with its heavy but really warm
Amazing idea!! You can also take an old t-shirt and cut it in stripes for this project. One t-shirt should be enough for a few mug rugs! Thanks for your video ! Greetings from Germany!
So much fun and easy. I have seen this done with tubing. Like for a oxygen tube. Some stitch, but you could make a throw rug for in front of the kitchen sink. Thanks so much for sharing your video with all of us. You are a great teacher, explains every step. Thanks
I have a bulky yarn I've been trying to figure out something to do with besides just making another hat. This has given me a lovely idea for a mat for my mom's little dog!
I LOVE 💘 this idea! I've never purchased Tshirt yarn but now I have a reason to!😁 lol Thanks for sharing! I think that if I do this project I may opt to sew down the sides for a little extra security. 🤔
Thank you for this wonderful pattern! I brought a lot of T-shirt yarn when I found at the dollar store. I’m not fond of rugs but this pattern is a winner! Especially with winter ❄️ coming
I love this idea Anja. I've already made 2 of them. My tshirt yarn is a neon yellow colour and I have some multicoloured cotton yarn, it came out lovely
I’m definitely going to crochet 🧶 a mug rug Anja! Thank you for a delightful project! I have cotton yarn 🧶 leftover! I don’t have tshirt yarn 🧶 however.I’m not sure I can crochet 🧶 this mug rug pattern Anja without tshirt yarn 🧶😞 I’m not sure 🤔 what to do now Anja??
Hello Kiranjit, you don't specifically need tshirt yarn, you could hold together 2 or 3 strands of chunky yarn, or any 3-5mm cord will work, have a try, good luck, Anja x
Sometimes leftovers make the nicest presents! Enjoy being creative, Anja xxx
I feel a basket /bowl would work with this and you have a beautiful tutorial for that too.
Thank you for this our dear dear crochet goddess.
I was just thinking of making a mug rug for my ice water while working from home. Lovely idea!

👍
This would be wonderful for foot rugs. Purses too! the t-shirt filler yarn fills up the holes and gives it body. you wont need to line them.
Hi Anja and Dirk! This is such a nice little gift and a great way to use up some leftovers! 💖 Chris
Great idea. I may need to buy some tee shirt yarn.
I also have a lot of t-shirt yarn. This is a super project! Thank you!

@@OpheliaTalks oh thank you! I can hold the yarn 🧶 with 2 or 3 strands! Thank you 🙏🏻 Anja! 💕
These are really cute! I think I would take some thread and secure all the ends so the t-shirt yarn can't come loose.
What do you think?
All throughout the video I thought you were going to say this is how you are going make the cell phone/ water bottle holder.
I can't find t shirt yarn anywhere in my area. Any suggestions on what I could use in place of the t shirt yarn ?
👍👍👍
