NIO ET7 Battery Swap Complete Guide At Power Swap Station 2.0|Is It Better Than Superchargers?

  • The video is about the whole process of NIO ET7 battery swap at NIO power swap station 2.0. The power swap 2.0 is more efficiency, and less human involved. It is almost fully automatic during process. The major advantage of NIO is the power swap, which allows NIO cars to get fully charged battery in less than 4 mins. The battery swap of ET7 and other NIO SUV models are not much different.
    Battery swap is much faster than superchargers, and it would improve the experiences of electric vehicle. Therefore, the time consumed on getting range back would be much less than other EVs.
    However, we may need to consider the waiting time in some busy battery swap stations due to the limited amount of batteries on the station. If NIO owners get battery swapped during busy hours then the waiting time may increased.
    If you have any thought please leave your comment below.

    Nio should make the power swap station drive through instead of backing up. Entrance and exit it will safe so much time.

      @joyevs_TV  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, that would be must faster, but it may increase the cost of the land as drive through may need a lot more space.

    Fantastic video and explanation! Thank you for sharing! NIO 3.0 stations will be amazing I'm sure! Probably faster robots, more battery capacity, load balancing with the grid and maybe even 2 cars at once!?

    • @joyevs_TV
      @joyevs_TV  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No worries Parvez, yeah, there must be more battery capacity on 3.0 version. If it could do battery swap for 2 cars at same time that will be great to meet the increasing demands.

      @@joyevs_TV Thank you ☺️ I appreciate your reply and definitely will be amazing to see what comes next for NIO! There is so much technology and innovation coming out of Chinese NEV and I think BYD, Geely & NIO are going to be the main global players who will transform and challenge the European and US car industry and go global with their products.

    Still have not done a battery swap in my ET7. My battery is new so I am worried during a swap I could pick up a battery that is not as good as my current battery. How long after you got your first NIO did you do your first battery swap?

    • @joyevs_TV
      @joyevs_TV  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I did battery swap about one month after for my ES6. Yeah, I had same thoughts as you before. The battery is definitely newer on new cars, but ultimately we will do the battery swap. Why don't just enjoy the free swap benefit in early.

    So if there are 3 cars arriving at the stn , how do you know its your turn? Also waiting like this is a big waste of time just to see car reverse in . 4 minutes becomes 8 minutes . I can envisage other car owners just driving into the empty square , even when its not their turn. Just queue the cars at the back like a drive through, maybe serve coffee! . No turning and much faster?

    So if your car is modified with lowered ride height using aftermarket suspension, will you still be able to battery swap?

    • @joyevs_TV
      @joyevs_TV  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there, if you could adjust that air suspension to the higher position every time when you do the battery swap then I think it would be fine. But I am not 100% sure for that as I haven't seen any one replaced the original air suspension to the aftermarket one 😅

    • @DDGGVVMM
      @DDGGVVMM ปีที่แล้ว

      @@joyevs_TV makes sense, I just wonder if Nio has thought about as it becomes more popular and eventually there will be aftermarket support for the car for modification that may not allowed for the raising of the suspension by the press of a button. Anyhow, great video and keep up with the good work!

    • @joyevs_TV
      @joyevs_TV  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DDGGVVMM Yeah, there must be more aftermarket supports avaliable when NIO getting popular. They may collaborate with some reputable refitting factory, so the aftermarket parts could integrated with their system. Unlike the gasoline cars, electric cars are more highly integrated all different ECU, and controlled by the Domain Control Unit - DCU. I think it's hard to identify the warranty then if the major part has been modified. Let's see how it goes in future!

    As a Westerner, I don't like China from a government perspective and it concerns me with how rapidly China is advancing economically and technologically, BUT I must commend the Chinese people for their hard work and strides forward creating a competitiveness and urgency for countries like Canada and US to get back to work themselves and quite complaining. As long as we avoid conflict, I see nothing wrong with sharpening one another's swords of a better future against the other's foundational rock of progression and value. Thanks for the informative video, and hoping for a better peaceful future for us ALL, take care.

      @@Got2Learn No worries! In my opinion, lifting the car to make sure it doesn't move during the battery swapping process, as when the machine put back the charged battery then it gives a force upwards, but the suspension is not fixed, it's retractable. Therefore, it may move upward when it's facing a force, and it may causes safety concern.

      it takes too long, and QUEUE'n is possible, you can already fast charge your car without negative effects so why spend money on a swapping station costing over half a million when you can output 20 superchargers for that price ? battery swapping made no sense and is becomming more obsolete every month with advancing tech in batteries and charging.
