Electric car battery swap: How long does the Nio ES8 use to change a battery?

- The Nio ES8 is the only car in Norway where you can change the battery as an alternative to charging. We took a test run to see how long it takes.

It takes a little longer time than usual.
I was used to arranging a battery swap by NOMI voice service while driving.
So each time, it takes me about 5-6mins to get a nearly full battery.
Even better than filling the fuel tank,
because you don't need to leave the car.
It's really nice when the weather is not so comfortable.
Most of stations near my home are staff free now.
How is it better than filling up the fueltank? The pumps are under a roof, and it takes alot less time

Obviously, the area inside cars is designed as comfort zoom.
We are experiencing terrible hot weather these days.
When I left the AC room, the clothes would be drenched by sweat in a few seconds.
So I prefer to boost the AC before swapping for a while.
Then after 5-6mins, a pleasant journey would continue.
Automatically, just press a button to tell the car you are ready.
Hmmm...I think life should be like this.
a bit too much fanboy-ism though i'm guilty of the same.
this will not catch on because it requires too much expensive and place consuming infrastructure on top of a lot of extra batteries in circulation for every EV of this brand. at the current supercharge speeds for EV's you are in my opinion better off charging your battery since it only takes 25minutes to put in a decent amount of charge in your battery, most of the time you should be able to charge at your location (home/work/hotel/parking/...) so this is a cool technology but it wont catch on.
@@flujori nio car can charging too. and if u really used a ev car, 25minutes can only charge up to 50% at most, and it will become very slow after more than 80%. most important is, everytime u swap a battery, u get a nearly full, totally checked battery. this is the reason why NIO has sold 200,000 vehicles in China but there is almost no news of spontaneous combustion.

Kult konsept, men hvor lenge varer styrestag og servo når den svinger helt om når bilen står på asfalt
Det er nok dessverre bare de få av oss som har kjørt noe motorisert uten servo som skjønner at bilen bør rulle når man svinger. Om bilprodusenten ikke tar høyde for at kunden sveiver på rattet når bilen står stille, får høye reklamasjonskostnader. Men over et halvt tonn på hvert forhjul er kraftig kost ja. De burde lagt inn litt rull på hjulene i prosedyren.

NOMI's voice is way way cuter in Chinese and English sorry but her voice in Norwegian is a big fail.

Every Battery Swap I have seen completes in less than 5 minutes. You started your clock too soon.
its all about averages and not best time, so i think we can assume the average is around 5minutes wich is good but not great
Hvor mye koster hver swap?
Leste på L&B og de sa 2000 kr per måned for 100 kwh batteri. OG du må ha leasing avtale på batteriet eller noe.

I utgangspunktet 2 kr per kW du bytter, pluss 100 kr servicegebyr.
Med BaaS-avtalen får du to gratis swaps i måneden og 200 kWh gratis lading tvers av battery swap og NIO hurtigladere. Altså veldig, veldig rimelig.
