I just want to thank you for bringing to my attention the fact the KTM already has a front USB charger lol. Had this thing for a year and had no idea. Mostly wanted the one for charging my phone on long trips.
I couldn’t resist and pushed it the dash started flashing saying it will self-destruct in 10 seconds I quickly pushed it again and it stopped, you were lucky stripping the thread I pulled mine out completely🤪
I just got my superduke Evo yesterday. Don’t know much about them . So they was very helpful 👍 I noticed a usb on the side of the display for charging phone that might be enough for me but no ideal. Rubber seal flap permanently open in wet weather .
Hi. Thanks. Much appreciated. Yes it’s no longer waterproof once something is plugged in. As I run my GoPro’s and phone I needed more usb sockets hence why I fitted that extra one.
Are you running the wireless version ? With an iPhone 12 or above ? I have the sp connect wireless mount and had to buy there own hardwire kit as the wireless power from the usb wasn’t enough to go through the phone cover.
@@Robbiemoto good point yes it’s wireless quod lock not lighting up to indicate power on . So just tried plugging phone directly into the usb even with ignition on nothing. I probably wire up a separate usb Shame it’s under warranty but it be a pain taken it in just for that .
Yeah it seems somethings not right. Try a different cable or even try a different usb device. If that still doesn’t work then there’s a good chance the USB port isn’t working.
I’m no mechanic or auto electrician but that’s something I wouldn’t be comfortable or recommend doing. I’d recommend just fitting a regular Optimate lead to the battery.
Hi A bit of a random question. They is no heated seat power part for the Super-duke. But they is a lead for heated seat and in the menu is a option for heated seat . So can’t see a reason not to buy the aftermarket heater element installing it the seat and connect on without the aftermarket relays kit if it’s already OEM built in ? Not sure if it’s something been asked before.
It’s not been asked before but I know it can be done. One of my followers on Instagram has bought the brabus 1290 heated seat and fitted it to his bike. The dealer had to unlock the option I believe but it’s doable. The brabus seat is pretty damn expensive.
@@Robbiemoto I check the cost . I just tried activating the heated seating in the menu started the engine switch to high as you would with heated grips but with nothing connected to the seat connection ,the ECU flags up a fault. probably due to no heater element load. whether a ebay aftermarket seat element would match the load its looking for ,maybe worth a try .if it works just a case of unclipping the seat cover sticking the heater on and staple cover back down . sounds like no-one tried it . mmm idle hands in winter .
@@marksmith8663 it wasn’t until after replying back I recall seeing on one of the KTM Facebook groups someone bought a second hand KTM adventure seat and took out the heating pad and fitted it to his SDR seat.

Hello. I have a gps unit which comes with a red wire for 12 v , black for ground and then there is yellow wire called ACC. Right now i connected red and black with battery +ve and -ve and yellow with my 390 adventure rear accessory port with ignition control. So now when the ignition is on, the gps unit comes alive along with other units. My question for you is, instead of connecting black and red with battery can we connect it to accessory port of the bike according to your video? What should we do with the yellow acc wire of the gps unit then?
As far as I’m concerned I’d say yes you could. I don’t know the wiring on a 390. With my bike it comes with permanent live accessory connectors and ignition live ones. I’m not sure which yours would be. Regarding the acc wire I’d take a guess that it would become redundant if your accessory connectors are ignition live. That’s the best I can offer I’m afraid as my knowledge on auto electrics is limited.
@@Robbiemoto Thankyou. I'll test it out by connecting the red and black to the accessory port directly without connecting yellow acc line and see if it turns on the gps device. And yes 390 gets 4 acc ports. 2 in front ( one with ignition and one direct) and two at the rear.
It sounds very similar to mine so I’d say yes it would work and no need for the 3rd wire. But again I’m no expert. But if it was me that’s how I’d look at connecting it as I’m not keen on connecting accessories direct to the battery.
Funnily enough afterwards I thought something like that. Especially with the valve underneath. But I didn’t think they fitted them to UK bikes. I remember years ago when I worked for Triumph fitting the charcoal evap system to California spec bikes. Mind you that was quite a few years ago. 😄
Hi and thanks for the vid. Dumb question... But what is the size of the male connectors you need? (I do not have the bike yet, so I'm just trying to prepare what I'll need). Thanks in advance!
Hi. I may be tempting fate now lol but it’s been 100% realiable. I think the mtc issues were related to the exhaust valve which supposedly was reworked during the recall. And I’ve not seen or heard of any issues regarding the key.
Hi. It’s not a KTM part. I bought it off Amazon a few years back and had it fitted to my Z1000. Then fitted to the KTM. I cut the original plug off and put spade connectors on so it would fit onto the accessory connectors.
Thanks, You may well be right. I'm awaiting a long over due brake reservoir cap so I was going to wait and call into my dealer and ask them when it comes in.
