I had a lot of fun with this and Mia is one of my favorite One Year War era characters. But I hate the final mission. I keep losing because the time limit runs out. Except given what is happening in the story running out the clock should be a win not a loss because your mission is to stall for time.
hope to see a valkyrie chronicles style gundam game in the future
they better hurry up with this PC release

@@RoleReverse Don't wait, just support it or Bandai will not do any more English translated single player Gundam games, especially after the hostile treatment they got back in 2006 with Gundam Crossfire on PS3 which most of the American reviewers used to shame the U.C. foundation of Gundam and diss the videogame.

Been a fan of Gundam since Wing and can't wait to try that one out. Finally, Bandai-Namco addressed our complaints for a lack of Gundam games in the West and they've replied with this, SD Gundam G Generations Crossrays on PC and Extreme VS MaxiBoost ON on PS4. Blowing up enemy mobile suits never gets bored IMO.
Just wish they didn't have to cut the game in 3 parts, could've easily released the full game in its entirety instead.
I think the idea is to support the release with extra missions down the line. There’s also ways to unlock mission within the game through Battle Operation 2 progression
@@NoisyPixelNews yeah I get what they meant to do, but BO 2 is such a shitshow to play I'd rather pay for those missions if they were DLC than forcing myself to play that dumpster fire

the new sakura wars got sakura ayane as the main heroin, in code fairy also got sakura ayane as the main heroin
I'd say Code Fairy is one of the best Gundam game in recent years, it's a good blend between the tricky Battle Operation mechanics while also make it a Side Story game like those in PS2 games
So there's no other game modes besides the missions tied to the chapters? Can we use/transfer suits from our battle operation 2's account?
Yes you can use your BO2 account to unlock extra missions too
There’s also a manga adaptation (I think) out there it’s basically Gundam for the new generation I’m more of a UC fan so I like the darker Gundam stories.
Now that it's complete would you still recommend?
This is exactly what I was waiting for to get into Gundam, looks amazing

There are certain nods to the old anime. You will certainly understand some references and events a bit more if you watched it, it isnt a requirement tho.

One of the best Gundam games out there, problem is it is so good that I just wanted more campaign using the Battle Operation 2 mechanic on top of the awesome anime.

If you think the first five chapters felt a bit easy, theryre a taste of what's to come towards Vol. 2 and 3.
One other thing you didn't mention is that there's at least minior RPG elements when it comes to the three main characters. They level up after you complete a mission, gain stat growths which have an immediate effect on their performance, and be able to learn key abilities that you can change while customizing their mobile suits.
On top of that, you get to run single-player simulations and group battles to gain more MS and gear to use on those situations, which in turn give bonus materials as rewards after accomplishing goals. I think Code Fairy makes for a great way for players to get into GBO2 while standing on its own two feet as its own thing with a good story, nice presentation and solid controls. There should be more Gundam games of a similar nature on single player gaming in the near future to introduce newer fans into the franchise.
I'll wait till they release the full game and as a physical release.

@@NoisyPixelNews I'm a pretty big gundam fan but I'm sad we haven't had any good single player games in a very long time. I have high hopes for this game, so my fingers are crossed that it sees a physical release later on.
@@buckroger6456it’s disappointing, mobile suits move like junk the curve in difficulty is enormous from easy to normal I don’t even want to see hard and don’t even get me started on if you go down they can raw dog you into lowering your health but if they go down get Invincibility frames

You might like Mech Warrior 5, it's even cheaper and looks better
Good if the single player campaign is good (this game).
But God damn GBO2 is janky as fuck.
Really struggle to enjoy it.
It’s just slow as it attempts to recreate an actual mech feel. Haha it’s not super fast like breaker or anything.

@@Zero-37 it says 75 in the store for all three volumes I'm assuming.
@@VioletDeathRei The download itself for the whole thing is around 30 gigs, once installed it takes like 55 (PS4). You don't "download" the other two volumes, you effectively just pay to unlock them. Volume 1 alone downloads the whole game basically
@@Zero-37 Just saying it says 75gb in the store for me as well so not sure then because they tend to be fairly accurate about that including room for updates and installation which is why I figured it left the room for the volumes.
If it said a game was 20gb and someone buys it thinking they have 25gb of room and it takes 35gb they are liable to be upset.
I like games but when thea game developers decide to save money by not making a physical copy the more like losing money because I'm not going to buy it Gundam
Operation code fairy looks like good game but can't support something that doesn't have a physical release.
I found that New Gundam Breakers is wierdly the best playing game of gundam so far.
To bad gundam operations feels so slow and clunky. Feels like a bad Mech Warrior game instead of a gundam game.

Gundam was always about making realistic feeling mech battles, this game translates that the best

It’s so nice to see a Gundam story with a female protagonist. One of the biggest, long term problems with the franchise is a refusal to do such; we’ve had OVA’s at best, but all the main series have blokes leading.
Why is it a problem? What percentage of pilots in the world today are female?
@@WestSide1207 probably much higher than Gundam portrays, that’s for sure! Alternatively, how many pilots in reality are teenagers as young as 13? Gundam seem fine with that, so I doubt accuracy is a key concern!
Either way, it’s a moot point because this is fiction; the writers (and no doubt producers) are in a position to create a more representative cast, but are actively choosing not to. Christ, Sunrise (who make Gundam) themselves ran Cross Ange, making an entire alternative universe, magic system and social hierarchy to justify having only female pilots in a mech show. I don’t think Gundam exactly needs to put in much effort to have a more women leads.

Would have perfered a more war gritty tone over the moe tbh. And a realistic unit with men and women together.

This is anime we're talking about, sir. The prevalence of female characters isn't a social-political statement, it's fanservice to make all the anime men coom, especially since Code Fairy is a light hearted story (by Gundam standards)
