I loved the online game but really don't have time to stay competitive in online gaming anymore so I really wanted a single player experience of it, glad to see it finally happened
I had a blast with Battle Operation 2 so I might play it casually from time to time. Wouldn't mind seeing additions featuring the Gryps conflict through to the Third Neo Zeon War.
It depresses me how Gundam games haven't gotten my money or attention since Gundam Side Story 0079, Fed vs Zeon on PS2 or even Dynasty Warriors Gundam.
Yeah, currently, my favorite Gundam game is Gundam Breakers 3. If you can find Gundam Breakers 3 Breaker Edition, main game with on disc dlc, you'll be set!!! Just steer clear of the HORRENDOUS, New Gundam Breaker, made by different studio and complete TRASH!!!
It's nice to see someone put out an objective video review for a Battle Operation game. I just wish Battle Operation 2 would receive more attention in this regard. The few reviews I've found are by fanboys who shrug off, or gloss over it's flaws because of bias. Ultimately giving an inaccurate representation. All in all. A well made review.
@@RandoLePerson agreed. That's why I wish it would receive more attention, so newcomers understand what a lazy pile of trash it is. Though personally I think even code Fairy is a lazy cash grab. It has no replayability, the story is bare bones, and ultimately served to give GBO2 players something more to waste their money on. It's something that should have been in GBO2 from the start. Here's hoping Evolution is better.
@@pivolboy9370 Funny because I was concerned about the opposite, basically all free to play games(like the new Diablo that costs $100,000 to fully kit your character out not an exaggeration) are shameless lazy cash grabs that exist because they make 10x more money then just selling you a full game. Hence why I'm looking for an actual game and my biggest concern is it's tied to the free to play at all.
As someone who wants a good quality multiplayer experience from gundam Bop2 is a great game to scratch the itch until you actually play. It's a dead game so the 12 people who actually log on are way overpowerd. So the offline single game is a great Segway from waiting for 45 minutes or longer for a lobby to fill.
really wish they'd put more Gundam games on pc... i'll probably pick this up on PS5 though if its on a good sale. i will say i wish the gameplay was a bit on the faster side. tempted to get the VS game if im able to grab it on ps5
i'm not even a fan of the gundam series/universe but i still agree with this. not sure why they generally avoid bringing their games to PC. i do love some of them like the Musou games.
the so called slow pace and clunky control is part of the main attraction of the game. This is not a super robot game, it is more realistic type of mecha game, Mobile suits are more like tanks, they are not supposed to move like in a Fast and Furious movie.
There is range for some weapons. The shotgun of course is best up close and personal and for bazookas, dealing splash damage is a great way to set up melee combos. Helena specializes in long range combat so her sniper rifles make good use of that.
No. You’re assigned a pilot for the mission (mostly Alma) and it’s game over if you get destroyed. You do play as Helena and Mia through the main story though.
I think the most tragic part is that im literally never gonna pick this up. I love gundam and mecha as a whole but im not getting a damn playstation for this, that would make me an absolute clown.
i'm a sexist old school fan that doesn't like female pilots but I'm willing to deal with it just to get something decent out of a gundam game but it is pretty cringe tbh
@@RandoLePerson The term is kind of meaningless these days don't you think? I'm a woman and I only get called a sexist misogynist twice a day when I question if turning every male character into a woman is really better then just making stories about women already there like this game. So yeah it's why I'm here as well.
Awesome review and a very interesting game but I just can’t fully enjoy the game if the main character that I’m playing as is of the opposite gender. I tried that many times. Most recently; I purchased a game called ”Chorus” (female protagonist). Since I cashed out the $$, I really teied to enjoy the game and put quite a few hours into it, but ultimately I couldn’t properly enjoy that game either. That’s why I’m staying away feom the new turn-based cartoon mech game called; ”The Relayers”. Same reason I’m resisting the urge to buy Code Fairy on sale now on PSN… Just don’t want ro regret my purchase afterwards. Man this sucks. Wish I could enjoy these games like everyone else without bwing so stuck up about such issues, but I can’t help it ;(

A kampfer? I believe that means it’s good while it lasted
Kampfer is my favorite suit, im just happy for the recognition
I just want full backwards compatibility for both PS5 and series X so I can play those golden age Gundam games of mid 00's thru early 10's
Brilliant review as always bro
Does this have more visual novel than combat?
Never scene a TH-cam channel with such a relatable name lol
This would of been an instant buy if it had character creation..
Nice, now I can play him in PC.
Why are the enemies so close to you? Can’t the guns shoot further then 50 feet?

Can I switch/change the Pilot?

Are voices in japanese or english?
Nice Vid, Thanks
This game should've been for the Switch

Interesting straw man, female pilots have been a thing for a while in gundam.
