      Hey Tom, love your lessons. I'm a 4-5 handicap. Can't seem to get lower. Of course I don't practice ever. Just show up at the course and swing a couple clubs on the teebox🤣🤣Just wanted to tell you I went to using base ball gloves. One lasts all year. I went through golf gloves monthly.

      Hi Tom, I finally had your method click-in and it fixed my slice. I'm a former baseball player and I've struggled with a slice for years. I started out hitting straight but I slowly began to slice as I attempted to create more torque in my swing. For the past 3-4 years I've really struggled to fix the slice. I read Ben Hogans 5 Lessons and went back on some of your videos. Syncing my hands with my hips finally did it. I was clearing my hips way before my hands and not getting squared back up. Thanks for your help.

    This guy is brilliant. 👍 I signed up to Tom’s golf school at the turn of the year, had an online lesson and haven’t looked back since then. We’re just back on the golf courses here in the UK following COVID lockdown. I’m hitting my irons with crispness and booming my drives straight and 50 yards farther down the fairway. This stuff really works so STOP lifting and shifting and start hitting crispy golf shots, time and time again. I’ve started to love golf even more. Well done Tom. Cheers Bernhard. 🏌️⛳️

    Craziest but best golf instruction video ever. Instant and permanent results. Watched the video 5 days ago, walked straight out the door and to the village practice range. 24 balls- first 6 shots were crap, next 18 shots were consistently great, no tops, no thicks, all straight, then had to go up a club, and then had to back-off another 20 metres from the flag. Prior to this was normally 6 good shots mixed in with 18 crap shots. Next morning, same. Next afternoon, same. Next day, same. Today, 24 out of 24, all par worthy. 5 years and many coaching dollars of doing it wrong, one 15 minute video and bingo I can suddenly play golf. On the course for the first time yesterday, 88 first up, best score in 5 years, was always 100-105. Tom, you are a legend.

    I watched this video at about 10 last night. After that, I watched your crash course on the driver. Morning couldn’t come soon enough. I went to my club, less than 12 hours later, to try the teaching on for size. I hit a few 7 irons to warm up, and Presto, from the first drive on I striped 5 of them. You had me at 3 swings, the last 2 were to grow on. When I got back home I signed up for your one year course. I took your ideas, they worked for me, and I felt it only fair to pay for the lesson. I’m really looking forward to winning back all of that money I’ve lost. Best, Ken Olshansky, Wellington, FL

      @SagutoGolf  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's fantastic, @emmanuel261! Welcome aboard - I'm very glad to have you in the school!!
      Here's just a little bit of preliminary advice to help you get off to a good start on your journey to the Land of Ball Striking Bliss:
      1) Regardless of a member's skill level, this swing necessitates a complete reboot for someone transitioning from a shift & lift swing (which is typically the case), and therefore it is imperative that one take sufficient time to ensure that the fundamental components are mastered. From the ground up there is nothing superfluous in the Stack & Tilt swing - in other words, everything with a purpose, and a purpose for everything. (For example, contrary to shift & lift where you may be taught to keep your trail foot perpendicular to the target line as a means of "creating resistance" in your trail side, in S&T we flare both feet out 10-20 degrees in order to facilitate a free flowing, inclined hip and shoulder turn.) I cannot emphasize this enough, as frustrations predominantly occur when students jump ahead in the curriculum without properly dedicating themselves to the foundational base upon which our consistently repeatable, powerful, low maintenance swing must be built. Chapter 1 of the Golf Swing Simplified program (GSS) and Part I of Get Out & Go Play (GOGP) both address this.
      2a) GSS: One of the many great things about this swing is that you can achieve solid ball striking even at the most basic levels. This is why I oftentimes will suggest that students park themselves on Chapter 2 of the GSS course for an extended period of time after locking down Chapter 1's foundational elements. Chapter 2 reinforces the body motions and the weight-forward component, and it culminates with what I call "The Best Golf Swing Practice Drill of All Time". Work yourself sequentially and gradually through the chapter, and then commit yourself to that drill in Lesson 2.8. Learn it. Practice it. Master it. You can even use this partially abbreviated swing on the course and play quite well with it as it will provide plenty of distance. (It actually is the full swing minus just a couple of power accumulators.) Once you've got that down, you will be well prepared to move forward in the curriculum and well on your way towards taking ownership of YOUR swing!
      2b) GOGP: This quick-start program is exactly as it sounds - it is designed to fast-track you out onto the course so you can have fun - and success - playing as you learn! Should you choose this path, everything in #1 above still applies, and as implied above in 2a you will still want to work through it sequentially and gradually, mastering each lesson before moving ahead to the next one. In this program, Drill #5 - The Flying Wedge is the one you'll want to park yourself on and nail down.
      3) Also, as you progress always keep in mind the V1 Swing Video Analysis service, an effective and inexpensive service that I highly recommend to everyone in the school. I liken it to bringing your swing into the shop for a tune-up or minor repair. Scheduling one on a quarterly basis for preventive maintenance will do wonders for keeping things humming along nicely, and it's also a great tool for pinpointing and resolving any issues that arise. The process involves downloading the free V1 app and then submitting two videos to me through the app - one down-the-line (captured from your stance line, not the target line) and the other face-on. You'll find more information about the V1 Analysis halfway down this page on the Saguto.Golf site: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolf
      4) Finally, please migrate over to the new “Office Hours” forum - which is included in your online school membership - and begin engaging with other golfers in the SagutoGolf community. It only takes a minute or two to enroll - just go to your “My Courses” screen and you’ll see a link to get started. Once signed in you’ll be able to access and participate in the great dialogue that we are having on a variety of topics. You can start discussions, contribute to existing threads, post specific swing questions, make some new friends, and just share in the common bond of golfers from around the world seeking to improve their games and help others to do the same. I monitor the forum regularly and am a frequent participant in the discussions, including assisting with swing-related inquiries. I really think you’ll enjoy it!
      I look forward to hearing from you regularly in the Forum and to assisting you in building a consistent, low maintenance, powerful, body-friendly swing that will bring your enjoyment of this great game to a new level!

I've had to personalize some of your instructions, so that they would work with my 76 year old body. You have provided me with a great template for a much simpler swing. • @SagutoGolf
      @SagutoGolf  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I would dial that back just a tad and suggest allowing the trail leg to extend - not lock at the knee joint - while the lead knee flexes downward in the position established at address (i.e.: slightly flared outward and not kicking inward) in order to absorb the increasing lead side weight load during the backswing. I would not suggest actually "locking" the trail leg, although letting it straighten may certainly feel that way initially for those of you were previously accustomed to leaving it flexed. Remember, this is a body-friendly swing, and the term "locking" may conjure up alternative thoughts and experiences in this regard. There's much more detail about this for just $10 US/month of $99/year in the online school if y'all are interested.
      Anyway, yes - this move is paramount to eliminating the sway, keeping you centered, and providing a consistent low point for crispy compressed contact!!

    Hi Tom I went to the golf course for the first time since early October. I live in Europe, I hit the ball well right off the bat by eliminating the sway with 80% weight forward and keeping firm right leg. Also pointing left knee at ball and left shoulder. Maintaining a basically neutral grip and not even thinking about anything other than keeping my left arm straight. The wrists take care of themselves. I'll take it to the golf course in May. Thanks! BTW I'm 67 and just started playing again after 10 years of LBP.

Today I was hitting some balls indoors using sky tracker and with a stock 7 iron, what felt like little to no effort, my carry avg was 177 yards on the money. It wasn’t perfect by any means, but using your tips I felt confident that even my misses would only be 15-20 yards off the target line.Also I don’t think I’ve ever got the compression off the golf ball that I was getting. I've heard you say this so many times now and it really "doesn't" get old. It takes a lot of repeating to offset all the bad info still being taught to folks.
    Still haven't made it out to the range yet to relearn my golf swing but getting close as warmer weather is on its way.

    • @SagutoGolf

      Thanks Rick! Repetition is necessary - as is conveying the same swing keys in different ways - so that it resonates and helps folks overcome years and decades of misconstrued and/or misguided teachings. I mean, isn't it interesting - and sad - that with all the advances in equipment, technology, golf course grooming, etc. the average golfer still can't break 100?? Epic failures within the realm of “conventional” instruction, perhaps???
      I appreciate your support, and I hope you're able to get out there soon!

I usually hit way too hard at the ball which results in bad shots I was way looser this round and man the ball was being compressed kinda losing some distance with the relaxed swing but the ball is so much straighter!

      Welcome to "the dark side", Kurt, where the spoils of "conventional" instruction - chronic inconsistency, physical pain, and endless frustration - yield to the fruits of body-friendly enjoyment of this great game for a lifetime. 😎
      Seriously, no rabbit holes here. The way I see it, we can either simply put the already existing natural laws to work and thereby build a powerful, body-friendly, repeatable, low-maintenance motion, or we can twist, morph, torque, contrive, and otherwise mess with the principles of physics and geometry in an effort to better suit some ill-conceived whims, all the while recognizing that at the point of impact those pre-existing laws are going to be the only things that matter to the ball.
      I sincerely appreciate your kind words and I'm very glad to know that my instruction content is resonating well with you!

    • @SagutoGolf
      @SagutoGolf  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Kurt Rule - That's awesome! Here's some preliminary advice to help you get off to a good start in the school:
      3) Also, as you progress always keep in mind the V1 Swing Video Analysis, an effective and inexpensive service that I highly recommend to everyone in the school. You'll find more information about the V1 Analysis halfway down this page on the Saguto.Golf site: saguto.golf/p/lessons I cannot overstate the value of the V1 Analyses as a supplement to what you are learning in the school, especially if you wish to fast-track the process.
      4) Finally, please migrate over to the SagutoGolf Community Forum - which is included in your online school enrollment - and begin engaging with your fellow members. I really think you’ll enjoy it!
      I look forward to assisting you through the school’s structured lessons and drills towards building a consistent, low maintenance, powerful, body-friendly swing that will bring your enjoyment of this great game to a new level!

      I appreciate that, Joey, and there's no time better than the present, right?
      By the way, the Stack & Tilt swing I teach is a very body-friendly method. For me this is supported by my personal experience as a player and furthered by the fact that the majority of my students are in their 60's, 70's, and 80's - i.e.: a smorgasbord of chronic ailments, physical limitations, back/shoulder/knee/hip pain, and joint replacements - and they are overwhelmingly elated to experience the dramatic pain-free game improvement, seemingly effortless power, and resulting enjoyment that this swing affords them.

    OK, Im 61 and this guy changed my golf life!! Playing this game the same stupid way, very upright swing, if im on im on, if I take a few days off I have to learn how to play golf all over, topping the ball spraying the ball,
    I decided to take up softball after 20 years away from the game...guess what. from the first game I was a star.. hitting balls out of the park..WHY?? How can it be that I play golf all the time and I dont get any better. but yet, I never forgot how to hit a softball?? because of exactly of what Saguto is saying here, a single plane swing is so natural, anyway after 3 weeks of doing this his way I am killing it! I struggled to break 90 before. yesterday I shot a 41 on the front 9, 45 on the back 9 for a 86. I probably only have 3 games under 90 in my life, and im 61. IM not looking back..You should do the same!

    At first I thought this might be a comedy clip. But I'm halfway through it and jeez... This is really actually fascinating. I used to be a great at the driving range--like pro level. Could never putt worth a damn though. Haven't swung a club in probably 25 years, but seriously now I'm really interested to try it again. Try my old way, and try this new way.
    Thank you for putting out this video. I promise I will come back to this and update this comment with how it goes.
    You are a fun and engaging instructor, Tom. I got started with elder golf pro instructors when I worked as a greenskeeper when I was a teenager. Ultimately got fired from that job for getting too crazy with the golf cart. (It was a hilly course and I'd drive that thing to the top, put it in neutral, and coast it down to bottom reaching prob 40mph and launch it off the t-off pad for the first hole. I caught so much air one time I locked the brakes on landing yet still damn near crashed through the side wall of the pro shop!)

      Marvelat Urraz?? LOL! The new Evel Knieval of golf.... 😂
      Looking forward to your follow-up on the results of your comparison, but please do so in a separate post as I only have enough time to reply to one unique comment per video, and as such I won't see anything further here.
      Thanks for the laugh. Glad to see that you are motivated to get back into this great game again!

      @unjustlaw 2020 - Finally, someone gets it! Here's the simple equation I've been sharing with others in this regard:
      Mastery of Golf = Control of the Hips; Elvis = Master of the Hips; Sideburns = Elvis; Golf = Sideburns
      So, forget about all the golf instruction stuff. Just go for the Elvis look and you'll be all set. 😎
      Cheers!

      C'mon guys.... Golf is all about focus. If you can't get past my face shrubbery to digest excellent instruction content, how are you going to be able to lock in on a specific target and keep it out of the trees on the course? Consider it a free bonus lesson.....😎
      Cheers!

    Mr. Saguto, this might be one of the best explanations I’ve seen as to simplifying the golf swing. It was eye opening to me. Thank you for your passion for helping golfers be more successful. I also appreciate your great sense of humor.
