@@AlexElliottGolf honestly it is fantastic really helps me feel through the ball . Most of the coach videos are so confusing I hqve only been taking your advise and AMG videos and has really helped me out so me tha k you mate
I have recently taken up playing golf (New Year's resolution )and as someone in their mid 60s I have found developing new skills at my age rather challenging. I was absolutely flabbergasted with the amount of information regarding this sport and the often contradictory and confusing tips. I took the advice of my two golfing sons who said try and follow one particular sight and and adapt the tips to suit your game. As my two sons are named Alex and Elliot, watching your channel, Alex seemed an obvious choice. Apart from that, your well presented information makes (to me anyway) a lot of sense.
Gary Player taught this feet together tip in Golf Digest in early 70s a great way to swing within yourself. I used it for 18 holes shot 80. When you lose your swing do this it will help you find the sweet spot
I switched to a narrower stance this Fall to help me feel myself swing around my body more, it has helped immensely and my driving is much improved and as Alex said it helps deliver the club face more square or slightly inside out, I do the same on flaring the left foot 😊.
I’ve tried it on the range in the past, and it works. Gets the club swinging the right way. It didn’t occur to me to just keep doing the drill on the course.
I’m taking this advice to the range and hopefully add it to my game. Drive is all there and an X factor or it NOT all there and still an X factor in scoring and scrambling. This has some huge potential to simplify the mechanics and eliminate a bunch of breakdowns in mechanics that plague my rounds. Thanks Alex
Wil have to give that a try. In the past while practicing, I would simply place my right foot back behind me. Maybe, use this when my game for the day is slice time.
Im a typical 'gotta smash it' Lefty. The harder i try to beat the ball to death, the less distance and accuracy i usually get.. If i walk up and just hit the ball without trying for distance, or thinking too much, the further and more accurate the shot.. The difference can be 70 -100 yards.. I hit over 300 total if i dont try.. 250 into the trees if i do.. This is a great drill to learn to chill. If you try and smash it with maximum torque and wind-up with your feet closer, you'll spin off balance after the shot.. sadly i still suck at every other aspect of the game, but my tee shots are pretty good..
I agree with that. Why is it that when you are just laying-up on a hole, you often hit farther. Its the same thing. Once you have learned the basics, over-thinking is your enemy. As my golf buddy and I say, "Don't think - Just hit it".
I would like to see an episode on wrist control. My issue is my club face constantly opens because of my wrist no matter how closed I am at the top or how strong I grip the club
I tried it after this video and i was luaghing that it worked hahahahh. I love your coaching videos pga bias videos not so much lol but your a great coach mate 👍 🎉
Alex, does this method work as well with irons and fairway woods. I realize you'd have to tweak where to play it in your stance. But, it seems like this might be good all of the time.
Only started playing a few months, watched loads of your drills which are great. I always seem to top it or thin it.. Is there any tips/drills to help?
I’ll cover a video for irons for sure, i do like to see a narrow stance but the weight transfer is a little different. Let me cover this for you in another video
@@AlexElliottGolf @ I am a believer on this method, it’s easier and I have more control than a wide stance. All I need now is to become more consistent with my approach and putts. I do have one question though, do I still need to change the angle of my lead shoulder like in a normal stance?
Hi Alex, so in realistic terms, if the driver stance was the same width as the stance for an iron, accuracy could improve, but yardage might drop a little..??
Have used a narrow stance since a junior....always hit the driver straight and a long way.....what you have to watch you dont do is sway back with the club on the backswing, it is then hard to time!
Great tip. I thought I was crazy because I discovered this on my own. My contact, club path, flight are so much more consistent when I went back to feet being inside shoulder width at address.
The issue is what is the evidence on a mid handicapper - you are going to hit it well all the time - How about doing a test with an average golfer - and are you suggesting that we mid handicappers actually do this on the course ?
Please stop apologizing for your handwriting. It's very distracting and becomes irritating. Love the content minus the apologizing. And this is from a Canadian and we love to apologize

is this a drill or is it something you think we should all the time ??
I always assume a narrower stance now with my driver and my drives are now far straighter and slightly longer !
This is good advice guys !
Loc that!!!!! So great to hear

love to hear that you are new to the game! don't try to take on too much information it can lead you down a Rabit hole. great names for your sons haha

Love that course and know those holes. Interesting video again Alex. I still love the whiteboard too.
Keep up the great lessons, I enjoy the videos
Thanks, will do! appreciate it Paul

Let me know how you get on with this drill Josh
Thanks so much! I’ll be trying this today in FL. 👍😎❤️
Great video. Can you make another video on one length irons again and your current thoughts on this style of irons? Maybe a playing video with them?
Great suggestion! I used to use these irons…I’ll dig them out for you
Thx, I will definitely give this a try!
Great let me know how it goes
I'll be giving this a go on Sunday 👍

Must try this, hope it goes to plan, enjoy your time abroad 👍.
Appreciate it John. I hope it helps
Gotta try this! Great videos. How about a video on using one wedge for every short shot versus multiple wedges?
For sure! Keep your eyes on the channel I’ll have you covered in then next month

Look forward to seeing your notifications pop up. Could you please help me with downhill lies? Mid irons and fairway woods. Thanks
100% Ill cover this for you can get it up in the. next month
Love your enthusiasm! 👍😎❤️
Thank you 😁
Nice birdie on the last hole. I know if you wanted to you could drive the green.
I would like to see an episode on wrist control. My issue is my club face constantly opens because of my wrist no matter how closed I am at the top or how strong I grip the club
Will it work with irons as well?
I would keep away from it with irons... just a toned down version would be best
Tried today. Works! But I did see slightly shorter drives. Maybe 10-20 yards. Maybe will use on shorter, narrower fairways
I tried it after this video and i was luaghing that it worked hahahahh. I love your coaching videos pga bias videos not so much lol but your a great coach mate 👍 🎉
Great to hear! Thanks Jason!!!
Would you advocate this stance to try for all golf shots…🤷♂️?
all shots that are on a tee for sure
Alex, does this method work as well with irons and fairway woods. I realize you'd have to tweak where to play it in your stance. But, it seems like this might be good all of the time.
i would say yes to fairway woods but not irons

Legend thanks. Keep up the great work
Taking this drill to the range at the weekend. Looks strange but the results seem legit. I guess onky woods and hybrids correct?
Let me know how you get on!!
Is there a more detailed video on the feet together drill
I can cover this again for you, which part are you looking for more detail on?
I see in the comments that you also recommend this narrow stance for fairway woods and hybrids but not irons. When, then, do you recommend for irons?

Alex, if you do miss ( you didn't on this video) with this technique, is it a pull or block?
Hi Daniel! This will be up within the next 2 weeks for you!!
This has made me look like a stud in the course of
this will
make you hit fairways

do you tilt your shoulder?
tiny bit for the shoudlers
Is this stance just for your driver and should you tilt a little to the right so you can hit up on the ball?
Yeah i like to tilt a little
Where was that course in Portugal?
Dom Pedro Golf Resort!
What is the length of your driver 0:35
43.5 is my driver mark
@ is that your total length or the shaft length
Also love your videos. Keep up the good work

Yes i like to do that !
I have one hip replacement and severe arthritis in the other. I turn much better with a narrow stance like this.
Can this drill be used with irons
Yes it sure can
Help me from coming over the top. All my divots are toe deep and I pull my irons
Would it be best to just keep your weight on the front foot?
Yeah a bit of it !

It is six weeks since I heard from you - and have not had any response. Please have the decency to respond to my e-mails
*Once you use this drill you’ll continue too!!*
Yes
Is it a good swing with hybride irons..thanks😊🏌️
Yes, hybrids absolutely but not irons!
@@AlexElliottGolfeven better news! I play a set of Cleveland’s 588 Altitudes. I will test this too with them.
I actually hit the ball farther like this
World number one coach and no pro stands like that!

noted thank you kelly
Alright Karen
Can this be applied to irons as well?
