    After countless videos, yours is the only one that helped me get some nice transparent prints after some minor tweaking. Thank you!

    You are doing a great job with your video. PETG is translucent, easy to print, and can come in different colors while being translucent. I make lampshades from PETG and they are working out great.

      I too just got my printer just a week ago, and have been chewing through as much info as I can on materials and parts as I have been tweaking my printer. Just got a handful of parts to put in my printer and printed a few nice-to-have upgrades as well

    15mm?! I have a print thats gonna take 2 days at 60mm. At that rate it would take me all week! Im printing Phoenix from Xmen in a standing pose with flames in the shape of a Phoenix bird around her. I just started the Phoenix in transparent but I only have have a spool of it. I just hope switch from one spool to another is noticeable. Probably just gonna use another of the same filament and hopefully avoid that switch being visible.

    Do you have a video on tuning in general for better mirror finish on bed?

    Newbie here. In terms of material compatibility, Is it important to stick to the list of materials stated by the manufacturer or could I change settings to accommodate different materials not listed by the manufacturer? Ie. The manufacturer lists pla, abs, tpu only, could I use petg and others on this printer?

    • @Core-Electronics
      @Core-Electronics  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So long as your printer is capable of reaching the printing and bed temperature required for the material (and is not locked into using a specific brand of filament/your concerned about printer warranty) you can definitely print any filament.

    could´ve been 15 second video. print petg. 100 infill. get dust grain size salt. embed the print in the salt compacting it thoroughly, put it in the oven at 240 degrees for 45 minutes. let it cool down slowly. remove print from salt and into water so the salt around it dissolves. quickn dirty sanding. SLA level transparency.

      Thanks for the tips! You should make a video on it 😃

      @@Core-Electronics you´re welcome. just youtube search "salt annealing" and you shall find. Bonus: the plastic ( especially PLA gets ALOT stronger and MUCH MORE heat resistant ) i´ll be waiting for your video on it :3

    ik, this is a 2 yr old vid but have you seen those new clear petg settings on Printables? currently tinkering with PETG rn and gonna try to replicate the look

    • @Core-Electronics
      @Core-Electronics  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have seen them! And they look like a great method, printing all lines in one orientation is an excellent strategy to making clearer components from transparent filaments.

    What about trying that Polywatch scratch remover after sanding it? maybe that would work?

    • @Core-Electronics
      @Core-Electronics  ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't think anyone has even thought of using Polywatch Scratch Remover on 3D prints. And I think its definitely a brilliant idea! Adding it to my list of experiments to try over here 😊. My only thought is that it could potentially be too abrasive as normal use of that Scratch Remover is for the very hard sapphire crystal watch glass windows.

    • @RonaldBrowen3
      @RonaldBrowen3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Core-Electronics That's what I was wondering.... But it would be worth a shot. Or maybe some similar solution. I had watched a watch restoration video and this popped into my mind that it may just work. But I don't think I would try it on that expensive clear PLA, might be too soft. Maybe try it on the rougher cheap stuff?

    • @Core-Electronics
      @Core-Electronics  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Once I get some I'll try it on everything haha! 😊

      @@Core-Electronics Awesome, can't wait to see the results! If it works, I will do it too

    • @RonaldBrowen3
      @RonaldBrowen3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Core-Electronics Also, if it does work fairly well, but it proves to be too corrosive, maybe try finding a less corrosive generic alternative perhaps?
