Cyclops beams aren't technically lasers, they are concussive blasts. He basically pushes things really hard, like punching with his eyes😂

Right, but the weird part is hes been able to dig tunnels , blow sentinels heads off through the neck, and he cut wolverines hand off in age of apocalypse. Then to top off the confusion his power is fueled by the sun which is the ultimate heat source. 🤷🏽♂️
@@Batz130the first part of your comment doesn’t contradict his powers, it makes perfect sense. Him getting his powers from the sun has mostly been forgotten over the years aswell.
@@Batz130When Cyclops focuses the beam and increases its power it can cut through things. An example would be the sentinel during the attack getting its head split in half.

An Omega level mutant has no defining or foreseeable limit to their powers. Storm, Jean, and Magneto are Omega level that’s why the Sentinels said “Omega level threat detected” when they spotted Storm.
Back in the day when networks had to compete for kids' attention on Saturday mornings, so their shows needed to have theme songs that were so FIRE that they hooked you immediately.
also, Magneto is usually depicted as a survivor of a very specific event that happened in the second world war, and was, in some iterations, saved from it by Captain America, and Wolverine.

Cyclops' visors are made with ruby quartz, when he open his eyes the optic blasts bounce off the lens. When he pushes the button on the visor the lens retracts and he can let his blasts through. The FoH would've had a better time of handling Cyclops if they left his visor on.
"The parents have powers. It works like that, right?" Not always! For example, in the old show Graydon Creed was a regular antagonist, and he was a normal human born from mutant parents. But yeah, that baby 100% will have powers.

EDIT: Btw, Storm being an Omega level mutant was a big deal. In the comics she's one of only like less than 10 humans on the planet at that level of power, but in any other representation she's traditionally been heavily nerfed. So that's why it kind of seemed like a big moment when the show finally acknowledged she was Omega level, and how powerful that is.

Your wife singing the theme song is hilarious. I'm liking the show. The 90s theme and the characters. It like the little kid in me came out and still remembering watching this show on Saturday mornings Fox Kids. With such greats Batman tas and Spider-Man tas. Scott and Jean having the baby. Thr X-Men battling the Sentinel was awesome. Some of the complaints some have with the show and the animation changes are pathetic.
My favorite line is Wolverine to Cyclops jeez dad keep buzzing in my ear. What would we do if we ever loss you. And the other Wolverine: I say we skip detaining and mail Trask back to the UN in little pieces. Storm: there will be no dismembering Wolverine. Wolverine: dismembering? Nah weight loss 😂🤣

Big issue ive had with this series so far is the laziness of Roberto Da'costa voice. He needs more inflection. Its like he struggling to read his lines.

Jesus Christ it is a PROBLEM!!! That man is not a voice actor. A friend told me (I don’t know if it’s true) that the showrunner fought hard for his casting. After watching the show, I have no idea why… he straight up suuuucks in his performance.
He's a rich Brazilian teen. You can't tell him nothing if his mom's is telling him to pull his pants up and to stop listening to pac.
Why would you have your wife watch this instead of the first episode of season 1 so she can understand it better
The animated series doesn’t really hold up that well (I just finished watching it for the first time). X Men 97 totally works for first time viewers.

@@merrytunes8697 Because it hasn't aged well as a show. Compared to something like Batman TAS that came out the same time, the animation and voice acting on X-Men '92 is... tough. That being said, '97 is a vast improvement and is totally watchable for newbies.
All the original voice actors came back except for the character Jubilee.
Kind of hard for Cyclops' and Magneto's original voice actors to come back since they both died in 2020.
Jean's original VA did return, but is playing Val Cooper in this.
Gambit is being portrayed by a new VA in this.
One thing I never liked about the series and it's earlier movies is that shape shifters can only mimic the physique only not their abilities... that's why they're called shape shifters.
why would you not like that? it makes sense.
The only shapeshifter I know that can mimic the powers is MArtian Manhunter as their shapeshifting ability goes down to the genetic level.
