  • 1 - To Me, My X-Men
One year after Professor Charles Xavier left Earth with the Shi'ar,[a] the X-Men continue their mission to defend mutants and humans alike and go on to become legally sanctioned by the United Nations (UN). Additionally, Jean Grey has become pregnant while support for mutants has grown. After the X-Men save a young mutant named Roberto da Costa from the Friends of Humanity (FoH), Jean sees that they were outfitted with Sentinel tech and probes Henry Peter Gyrich's mind for the location of the Sentinels' creator, Bolivar Trask. Despite succeeding, she receives a horrifying premonition while doing so. The team later find Trask at a junkyard in the Sahara, where he is rebuilding his Sentinels with the aid of a lobotomized Master Mold. After defeating the Sentinels and apprehending Trask, Cyclops and Jean ponder leaving the team to raise their son away from mutant hatred. The following day, Magneto reveals Xavier's will, in which Xavier gave him control of the Institute and entrusted him with leading the X-Men.
    2 - Mutant Liberation Begins
3 - Fire Made Flesh - The X-Men take in the Jean look-alike and Beast determines that she is the real Jean. Mister Sinister contacts the other Jean and reveals her to be a clone. Mister Sinister asserts his control of the clone Jean and she transforms into the Goblin Queen, taking Nathan with her. The Goblin Queen subjects the X-Men to horrific visions before the real Jean confronts her clone telepathically. Morph leads the X-Men to one of Mister Sinister's laboratories where they find him afflicting Nathan with a virus in the belief that it will turn him invulnerable and make him into the ultimate mutant. Jean again telepathically confronts the Goblin Queen, reminding her of all the memories they share, both good and bad. The Goblin Queen snaps out of Mister Sinister's control and turns against him, but Nathan is left gravely infected by the virus. The clone Jean and Cyclops send Nathan to the future with Bishop in the hope of finding a cure there. Then the clone Jean leaves the mansion where she takes on the name Madelyne Pryor. In a bar in Texas, Storm meets Forge, who tells her he can restore her powers.

I wish the 90's cartoon and X-Men 97 would've gone into more detail. Cyclops has multiple filters on his visor that have different settings like cutting, piercing, welding, wide arcs and even a setting to reflect off other surfaces. He also has a series of controls in his gloves as well.

Rogue is SUPER strong, SUPER tough, and can fly, because she permanently absorbed Captain Marvel's powers and put Carol into a coma for a while.

Technically, Rogue _could_ absorb anyone's powers permanently with extended contact. But most likely it'd be fatal to the person she's absorbing. The only thing that presumably saved Carol from outright dying is her hybrid Kree physiology. The writing used to be all over the place with Rogue having Carol's powers too. Whenever there was a situation where mutant powers would be dampened, like The Savage Land, Rogue could still have access to Carol's powers and not have her mutant powers. It was also discovered that Rogue can control her absorbing powers, but too much abuse in her past created a mental block. There's a multiverse variant of Rogue that actually can control her powers fully and can use other's powers based on proximity without rendering them unconscious, but could also shut off other's powers as well.

Gambit can charge anything he touches with kinetic energy.
He can also control kinetic energy and make the charged objects explode/explosively release the energy if he wants.
    He's also a master thief.

    • @solblackguy
      @solblackguy หลายเดือนก่อน +2

The true property of Gambit's powers is to enhance any object with enough kinetic energy to generate a force multiplier like using his staff to shatter walls. The problem is he needs to be familiar with the object he's using to do this. The reason why he uses cards as a primary weapon is because they're easy to carry and it's more efficient to simply overcharge them until they explode.

  • @Urizen61
    @Urizen61 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +75

    1) Cyclops eye-beams aren't lasers; they're force beams. They don't burn. Getting hit by them is like getting hit by a really big, really fast truck.
    2) In the movies, Rogue only has one power: power-absorption. But, in the comics, Rogue also has super-strength, invulnerability, and flight. She gained these powers while fighting Captain Marvel. Rogue held on to Carol Danvers too long and so she permanently absorbed her powers, but she also has Carol Danvers' consciousness buzzing around in her head.
    3) Gambit can charge objects with explosive energy. He can theoretically charge any object, but the bigger it is, the longer it takes to charge, so her prefers to charge small objects like cards. There is some controversy over whether Gambit should be able to charge Wolverine's claws which are made of an indestructible metal called adamantium.
    4) Roberto, Sunspot, absorbs solar energy and transforms it into strength.
    5) Cyclops parents were abducted by aliens, so they didn't willingly abandon their children.
    P.S. I'm in a helpful mood tonight.

23:35 Technically, Storm's both. She's more like a "demigod", though; she can still be killed like any other mortal. She has an ability called "godhead", where the more people believe in her, the stronger she becomes. As an Omega-level mutant (the strongest class of mutant), her powers have limitless potential. In some comics, her powers grow and evolve to the point that she becomes an entirely elemental being.
Storm is a Kenyan princess. She comes from a long, ancient line of powerful sorceress priestesses, who each had white hair and blue eyes, though the magical potential/visual traits often skipped generations. One of them was the Sorceress Supreme in her time. Storm has a ton of magic potential. The blonde girl with the sword (Episode 3 and Anya Taylor Joy's character in the 'New Mutants' film) was trained in black magic by a multiverse version of Storm.
Storm was without her powers for about 3 years in the comics. Some of her greatest character development took place during that time. She's still a very capable leader and excellent in hand-to-hand combat (her preferred weapons are knives).
Those live-action films nerfed these characters to a horrendously awful degree. They are still nerfed in this show, but not so badly. Thank goodness for this show; people are finally getting a better idea of, at the very least, what their personalities, capabilities and relationship dynamics should actually be like.

I'm sure someone has already sounded off about this below, but just to add --- episode three, "Fire Made Flesh", was a brief and kinda loose adaptation of the "Inferno" story (hence why Madelyne yells "They shall know my inferno!" like she's dropping a reference). I thought they did a really, really good job actually lightening that story up and treating all the characters involved, especially Maddie, kinder than the comics did. But in the comics the Inferno itself kicks off because Madelyne is manipulated and tricked into becoming The Goblin Queen during a very vulnerable time by a demon named N'Astirh and his enforcer S'ym. She actually controls hordes of demons and goblins from the hellish dimension of Limbo, so her name makes a *lot* more sense in the comics lol. I was surprised they did go as hard on the horror elements as they did, but I wish that they'd had her manifest more 'demons' like we saw Bishop destroy at one point because I think that it would've looked cooler but also been slightly less confusing for non comic readers why she would've called herself Goblin Queen :)

Cyclops is the original badass in the comics. Nice to see an interpretation that finally does him some justice. Absolutely my favourite X-Men by a pretty wide margin.
His eyes for record aren’t lasers. They’re concussive blasts and when he uses them they are portals to the punch dimension. In other words extreme energy/force behind it. When he ‘cuts’ that sentinel, that’s insane pressure/force cutting right through the machine. Produces no heat. Live action of him is an absolute joke.

4:39 Love the picture of the original X-Men from the 1960s. Angel, Jean Grey also known as Marvel Girl during this time, Iceman who in these early comics looked more like a snowman, Beast in his non blue form and of course Cyclops. For the films they had to change up in First Class for timeline reasons. Angel was just a teenager to young adult during X-Men: The Last Stand same goes with Bobby/Iceman as well. Scott and Jean were also too young to be appear in First Class Mutants with Beast being the only member who was old enough in the films to be a 1960s X-Men member.
39:21 Fun fact in the comics Madelyne Pryor wasn't originally written as a clone of Jean. Originally she was introduced to give Scott a second chance at love while also writing him out of the X-Men comics, giving him a happy ending. This was after Jean's "death" in the Dark Phoenix storyline, real Jean would later return. For this show I personally believe that Jean was replaced with Madelyne sometime after the shows Dark Phoenix storyline.

i love that neither the characters nor the audience knows for sure when jean and maddie got switched. it might have happened at some point after the previous show ended in season 5 or it could have happened before the previous series even began. there are theories by fans of the previous show on when the switch took place but in reality we only know that maddie was there for the last 9 months. but how much longer than those 9 months has she been there? days? months? years? no one knows for sure.

I think the "M" on Bishop's face was due to being marked in the future as a Mutant...in his timeline.

some one might have commented this already but the M on bishop's face is a mark they gave to mutants in the future to mark if the person who was captures was a mutants or not so if you didn't have a collar the older sentinels know yer a mutant ( the upgraded ones can just scan you )

As a person who grew up with this show and LOVED it, they took the '90s show and amplified it for the 90s kids who are now adults, and I love this more! This is now TV-PG, so it's technically not for kids anymore. It is lighter than NCIS, but it still has NCIS moments. They took all the good parts from the '90s show, making it topical and even more important for those watching today. I did not change, the X-Men have always been ahead of it's time and brought up important points about equality and those who hate it. Also, the X-Men is a soap opera in a way, so love triangles are normal. Its comic accurate.

The thing about rogue, she absorbed Mrs Marvel's powers.. to the point of almost killing her so she has it like long-term it's actually covered and are in the original series. Also, Charles is not dead. He just can't come back to earth another storyline you should watch. .. but yeah, you know the baby the character was in Deadpool 2 the live action movie.. he's been on the show before as an adult, but they didn't know he was the son

Wolverine is in love with Jean. It’s like how the wolf dude was in twilight. He’s imprinted on her. That’s why morph was teasing him. He wants that life with Jean.
And also, they definitely went through a lot in the old show. Morph supposedly died in the first season and was brought back in the second season by Mr.Sinister. Thats why they changed their face into the evil sleep deprived dude. That’s how they looked when Sinister was controlling them. I keep calling morph them and they because the producers wanted them to be non binary since they shape shift. I’m just showin respect

Cyclops is a fucking boss. The movies made the mistake of only following wolverine. There are so many more X-Men they can develop. This show has been impeccable thus far.

The problem with Cyclops in live action, is they chose to focus mostly on Wolverine, that all the other characters got left in the dust.

The explain everything it in the original show which is so fun but Rogue is able to fly and has super strength permanently because she held onto Captain Marvel for too long and put her in a coma & Mystique is her adopted mother & the mother of Nightcrawler & Gmabit & Rogue were my fav couple in the other season ugh it’s soo good

I’m sure it was already mentioned, but Bishop and Morph are not the same person 😂😂😂 the M on Bishop’s face is a tattoo given to him and all mutants in his timeline to be able to easily identify them as mutants. 🤓

“They need another leader to unite them”
Nah, Scott’s lead the team since he was a teenager. Wolverine needs to grow up and stop playing the angsty teen. It’s embarrassing at his age.

Just found your channel! Loved the reaction and am looking forward to watching more from you.
Being brand new to your channel, I am curious, how many Disney movies have you seen?
I’m always interested when I hear people say things like “this is not something I expected from Disney”
I understand where the squeaky clean, completely cute and family friendly perception comes from with Disney, it’s their brand and they make sure to advertise their products in a very specific way.
However, there is plenty of “adultness” going on in Disney.
Like, super dark, super sexualized, very real mature themes.
There is stuff in Disney that disturbed me as a child, but disturbs me even more as an adult, because now I truly understand what they were actually doing in some of their more “cute, fairy tale” moments.
Fairy tales in general are usually very dark and grotesque.
Disney did slap a coat of cuteness on the classic fairy tales of old, but if you look just below the sunshine and rainbows they advertise, you will definitely be asking, was this really intended for children?

The reaction to the Goblin Queen name lol...
One thing the 90's X-Men show did pretty well is that they literally pulled their stories from the comics and adapted them pretty well. Madelyn Pryor being a clone, being married to Scott, and being betrayed and turning into the Goblin Queen is straight up how the comics were.
The movie versions of many of the characters were pretty off from the source material.
Sometimes the 90's cartoons introduces new ideas, as well. Morph (the shapeshifter) was created to show how serious of a threat they were facing.
This version of Gambit and Rogue is much cooler. Many fans are really hoping they turn these versions into movies. Cyclops is much more accurately portrayed here as well. He is the leader.
    Hope you enjoy the series.

Why do you think they got two of the most suave, sophisticated, talented, & super sexy actors of all time to bring him to life on the big screen 😁
Sir Ian McKellen & Michael Fassbender are going to be a tough act to follow, should the time come when the MCU wants to introduce a new cast of X-Men.

If someone in your life, someone you've known forever, turns out to have been an impostor for an undefined amount of recent months / years... would you trust them blindly? 😅
Wouldn't you need to have some important questions answered before trusting that person again? 😂

    • @DeashasAlwaysWatching
      @DeashasAlwaysWatching  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

It wouldn't be blind trust. I would trust in the relationship we have had for years. It's not like Madelyn/Jean knew she was a clone and was keeping it from them. She wasn't pretending to be someone else and she wasn't faking her actions or feelings.
If me and my mom found out I was switched at birth and I wasn't really hers I wouldn't distrust her, she didn't know and it wouldn't change the love and relationship we had. Yeah I would want to know who was my birth mom but that wouldn't make me distrust the mom that took care of me.
