I had a similar situation with my Vito no cold air. I gave compressor a couple of light taps with a copper mallet while the A/C compressor was engaged near the regulator actuator. it was enough to jar the actuator and freed it up so that system worked. It has been operational now for two years. This may not work for everyone, but worth a try.
Thanks for such a great video and your explanations are clear and brilliant !! Question please - if I replaced a Sprinter 2006 AC compressor with a new one that was possibly not the correct size - Could this explain why the unit worked on Cold to start with then after a few weeks of use stopped working on Cold again?
Great video!! I have a 2008 3500 with a single compressor and the AC doesn’t work either. Should I go ahead with my oscilloscope and check for a command from the computer as you did?
@@KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair thank you for replying! Assuming I give 12V to compressor, should it start, if it’s not defective, regardless of the pulse command needed from the computer? That would be easier to do before the test with the oscilloscope because it’s a bench unit like a small suitcase and wouldn’t be easy to move around,
@davidmiyasako3060 Thanks for loving the videos, the blend door actuator is next to the acccelerator pedal under the dash, I will make a video about it soon!
Can I ask you a question? I have a 2020 Sprinter 3.0L Diesel. This summer driving across South Dakota and Montana in 100 degree outside temperatures the AC was whining and it would put a large drage on the compressor causing acceleration to be half of normal barely making speed. Drove back to Washington to it to Mercedes and they could not duplicate and I have driven it and could not duplicate. AC works good and the only variable is the 100 degree outside temperatures.. If you have any ideas I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you Jerry. PS i watch many of your videos thank you
@jerrydavis8383 Hi Jerry, I think it's just the outside temperature that caused it to act up, heat probably caused the pressures in the AC System to be higher than normal which might have caused the system to act up!
@@KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair Thank you for answering my question. Interesting answer do you think I should relieve some pressure from the High side next time it acts up? Normal temperatures now and absolutely no problems.
Hi Great Video..... I have the same compressor I removed the dust cover on the front after it stopped working Melted rubber inside Must have failed inside and then cooked the cush part up front. My question Can I drive it till I can fix it ??? Thanks you
You did a very good job of explaining the whole process. I have a similar problem with no cold A/C air except I know the compressor is good as I just bought the Denso compressor. Since I am having problems with the A/C system not excepting the freon though I have managed to get a static pressure of around 75 PSI. My next thing I want to do is go to the A/C compressor control valve (low pressure switch) and see if I am getting power to the red line. It seems like I am not as the compressor is not cycling the freon in. Do you agree with me on this? I really respect your knowledge of this job and would greatly appreciate your help. Something is keeping the compressor from doing its job. Please respond. Thank you sir. Wayne

I have a weird problem with a 2014 Sprinter 3500 that I was hoping you could help me with. I was driving home from a 500-mile trip and about 2/3 of the way, I noticed the air flow coming from the vent was weak and the temp not very cool (outside air was 84 deg. mild humidity). I stopped at a rest area for a break and when I got on my way again, the air flow from the vent was strong and the air was cold. As I continued on my trip (about 15 min), the air from the vent gradually decreased and the air got warm again. I shut off the A/C and blower for about 5 minutes while driving and the air vent flow was fine and blowing cold air, but once again over a span of about 5 minutes, the air flow gradually decreased and the air from the vent gradually warmed to near outside air temp. I eventually shut off the A/C and opened the window to let outside air do its thing. Once I exited the expressway, I turned on the A/C again with vent airflow on full and everything worked perfectly for the next 15 minutes until I got home. I was hoping with your knowledge of Sprinter, you could point me in the right direction. Thank you for your video's, they are an amazing troubleshooting help!
