    Good morning everyone Mrs. Marie you are one my favorite Chefs on U Tube thank you for sharing your delicious recipes with the public. I want to know if you can show me how to make a German Chocolate Cake? also I notice in one of your videos you used water in your egg wash & the other apple hand pie video you used half & half milk 🥛which is better to use water or milk in egg wash? and can I use puff pastry instead of store brought crust? Keep up the phenomenal 👏 work. May God continue to bless your hands have a bless day 🙏 Today is Wednesday November 1, 2023 at 7:25am

    The sweet potato crisp is a wonderful change-up. That will be my first one to try. I like the idea of making separate fruit dishes for taste preference. Brilliant idea for a one or two people family.💖

    Hi, I was watching one of your earlier videos, and at the end, (making biscuits), you asked for ideas. My idea is, White Creme filled long johns. My husband loves them, but can hardly find them around my home town anymore. It would be great if you could do one of these. BTW, I did your pie crust the way you showed, and it turned out amazing!! I always write down recipes and then try them out. If they are a keeper, then they go in my recipe cookbook. Yours is in there. Again, thank you.

    I love the little pies idea because my husband and I are empty-nesters and I also have a little pie plates. They are ceramic I got them at the dollar tree. I also wanted to note another really good thing to do with the sweet potatoes and my children, love this, red orange rind, and some orange juice in the sweet potatoes with a little bit of cinnamon it is to die for and as for sweetness, we use Monk fruit. Monk fruit or Stevia only and I really put it into my bacon and the kids had no idea that this holiday was sugar-free.😂😂😂LOVE YOUR CHANNEL

    QUESTION: I'm getting ready to make your apple pie recipe...you said it was OK to freeze and bake later...you also said that it's good to put a frozen pie into a 400 degree oven...won't the temperature difference crack your ceramic pie pan?

    • @marieskitchen
      @marieskitchen  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Robert! Thanks for watching! Great question. The basic idea is that a cold crust holds its shape better than a warm one. I do recommend freezing pie crust before you add the filling. You can also freeze the entire apple pie. Before baking, you should leave the crust on the counter for 5-10 minutes, or whole pie on the counter for 15-20 minutes or so while the oven preheats. Then put the pie plate on a parchment lined baking sheet and put that in the oven. Using this method, I have never had a problem with a Pyrex pie plate, but I do understand your concern. You are welcome to let it thaw a bit more before baking, but definitely do not let it thaw completely as it will become very soggy. Let me know if you need anything else 😊 My best, Marie

    Thanks for having all measurements in grams and celcius… I use “Elstar” apples, which is a good pie Apple in here the Netherlands. Question about preparation of apples or any fruit. I noticed that or at least appeared that you immediately placed apples in dish and covered with chilled crisp. But when I prepare apples and let them stand for just a few minutes, the juice gathers and I always question whether to all the juice or not. In making a pie I have to leave it out otherwise we have a soggy bottom, but I’m assuming that with a no bottom crust this shouldn’t be an issue. For most recipes here they always use breadcrumbs on the bottom, as cornstarch isn’t used much.

    My apples never seem to get done. What to do?

    • @marieskitchen
      @marieskitchen  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Krista! Thanks for watching and great question! With apple crisp, I usually just slices the apples fairly thin (1/4”) and in a fairly thin layer like demonstrated here, they cook up just fine. But, for my apple pie, where there are layers and layers of apples in a big pie dish, I like to pre-cook the apple filling. This ensures the apples are done the same time as the crust.
      The apple pie demo is here:
