    Thank you, after my brake job one of my pads wasn't returning correctly. As per your advice i took it back out and realized one of my clips barely had any grease. Apparently forgot to apply it to that clip. Cleaned it up and re-applied. Now things work great.

    This video reminded me of the last vehicle I purchased, my current one.
    It was used, and the first thing I noticed was the brakes were a little weird, they would make little noise, and they were sticky too, after a release they would keep breaking for another 10 seconds while moving, and there was bright red rust on the passenger - rear tire well, because those brakes got stuck, and whoever used the vehicle ran them super hot.
    So I had to replace two calipers, rear and front, all the brake pads and all the rotors.
    Especially the rear calipers were extra stuck, but managed to free one of the front ones and the other one was fine.
    When I think about through that entire time before I fixed the brakes, I was breaking on only one wheel and a half, it's kind of terrifying.

    I'm going to change all rotors and shoes as well as pads on my 2000 Toyota Camry LE 4 cylinder. The shoes in back are rusted really bad. The rotors don't look any better. If I back into my driveway the brakes want to grab. With the other owners of Camry I don't know if they let the Camry set to long. I won't know if the calipers are bad until I have it looked at. I have pads already. I just need to get the rotors and shoes. The brake fluid is also going to be changed as well. The Camry has ABS as well. I liked this video.

    I was so confused when you used something that to me looked kinda like a caliper tool to compress the piston on the brake caliper. He kept saying "caliper piston" and I was thinking 'wait isn't the thing he's holding a caliper FOR a piston, therefore a piston caliper?' 🤣

    Excellent videos overall, My noise in my brakes when i apply the brakes seems to be very unique have not heard any sound exact of all the videos on youtube. almost like a tapping sound but deep not squeaky, or a rocking back and forth of something metal(obviously) had this repaired in July 2021 same exact noise, and now noise is back, they fixed or replaced rear Drums and Hub assembly? they tried to figure it out yesterday, could not, i think it could be a lubrication issue?? which seems to fit, if you heard a noise either needs lube or is loose??? 2011 VW Jetta 130,000 kms. i think the pads are fine, rotor warped?? but you would think if that was the case they would see that, but that would be the front brakes?? but the sound seems to be the middle to the back end of the car. Suspension? the guy yesterday said something was loose there, and tightened the bolts> the noise still there.

Cuz i have same feeling that my 97 toyota camry us grinding every time is press the brake really hard. But if im goona press it slowly to hard no grinding feeling..

    Seems that the passenger front outer pad had two (what I call)
    shims. In addition to a factory
    one. Probably installed from old pads. Do not use them. Really. Only need the one attached on it. With a coating of proper lube. Good job thou.
    A few things I do. Some I do
    not generally. Everyone is
    different. 👍Pretty clean. One suggestion of the wheels on front are turned out it is a little easier to work on. Anyways. Thanks.

    Sorry if stupid question:
    Is it not necessary to open the lid on the brake master cylinder when compressing the calipers pistons?

    • @rollinajoint9657
      @rollinajoint9657 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think you may get a better job by loosing the bleeder. That is a good way to vent and decompress. Re tighten it as well. After.
      When compressing the piston. By purging the caliper
      you will not push air and moisture back in system. A little messy. But
      everyone differs. That is my way. 🙋🏻‍♀️👌💭✌️

    • @felixf4378
      @felixf4378 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Usually yes, because it will overflow and cause a mess. But if the master cylinder is low or your brake pads are at bare metal (like here) you usually don't need to.

    If you do not have a calibration torque wrench will it effect the job done negatively?

    • @Marcoosianism
      @Marcoosianism 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The potential negative effects of not using a torque wrench is you may OVER-tighten the bolts which may either crack it or distort the threads .... OR ... you may UNDER-tighten the bolts in which case they may loosen over time due to vibration causing a very dangerous situation if the caliper starts to come off.
