Don't forget to use ethernet cable with at least CAT 6 rating and adding a SSD with heat sink and clearing cache from safe mode. Balancing the memory to at least 70% of its capacity per memory drives you have. If you keep your system cool with accessory fans (recommend the centrifugal exhaust fan) you won't get bottle necked throttling in peak performance gaming for when you have those intense battles where high frames are demanded. I'm still looking for ways to improve my experience with my ps5 but great tips from this video.

You should not leave the 120hz option on . Games that don’t have a performance mode option will drop your resolution to 1080p by default without buffing the frames. I booted up A plague tale Requiem which suppose to run 1440p at 30fps but immediately noticed it was blurry and nowhere near 1440p so I went to video output info on the ps5 and found that it’s running 1080p at 120hz even tho the game does not run at 120fps. So it nerfed the resolution without buffing any frames. Had to turn the option off from the ps5 in order to get it playing at 1440p. Just a heads up

@@jaygordz603 yes no joke it did that to me with plague tale Requiem and was wondering why the picture isn’t sharp,I was baffled and kept browsing through the ps5 untill I saw it’s outputting at 1080p 120 hz when the game doesn’t even run at 60,let alone 120. Turned the option off and the game got sharp and showed outputting at 2160p. This was the first time it ever happened to me on the ps5 but then again it was the first game I play on the ps5 that maxed at 30fps and did not offer a performance mode. So my guess is this will happen with games that run at 30fps and don’t offer different modes or the developers of a plague tale Requiem are just too lazy to optimise the game to output the best settings accordingly by default. Either way I’m leaving it off unless i play a game that offers 120fps and I want that mode

    • @IrishNomad

Avoid 120 like a plague then because as soon as you actually experience gameplay through it 60 fps is a garbled mess, I play at 165 for the past 4 years and tried dropping down to 60 with RE4 remake to see how it plays and it was like my mind was trying to fill in the frame gaps with information from previous playthroughs, I can't go back.

Fun fact: This is a little quirk I found when using the performance game preset. Some games, even if they don't technically have a 120hz output option, setting the preset to performance will actually try to force the game to run at 120hz. I found this out when playing the PS5 version of No More Heroes 3. Just to be clear, this is the only game I've experienced this with, I haven't experienced this with any of my other games. It could literally just be this one game and no others but still cool nonetheless.

Can you please elaborate what is so transformative about it especially that nothing atm on consoles plays in 4K @120fps so the 2.1 is irrelevant right now. I have a 2018 Samsung Q9FN which does not support HDMI 2.1,neither does it support VRR but supports Freesync instead.Bought a 2021 Samsung QN90A last year which supports 2.1 and VRR,as well as all the blows and whistles that comes with it in terms of gaming features but wana know something? I gamed once on it then ran straight back to the 2018Q9 and I don’t think I want to game on it again unless 4K@120fps becomes a thing. The performance on both tv felt exactly the same but the picture quality was downgraded on the QN90A. Shitty blacks, blooming galore and way too overblown bright. My 2018 Q9FN still delivers those perfect blacks and vivid vibrant colours at the same time with zero blooming. So how are you benefiting from the HDMI 2.1 when nothing has so far showed its capabilities. Hell some games can’t even give us 1440p at 60fps let alone native 2160p at 120fps. Just curious what you experienced that’s all. Cos I’m starting to believe this whole 2.1 hdmi bullshit is nothing but a cooperate scam so we can buy the new TVs

You TV also has an even faster mode than "game mode" but often it is hidden. TVs also come with a "PC mode", activating it can require a step to make it appear in your display settings. For example, on my Samsung panel it requires changing the HDMI input label to "PC" to make it appear in the options, on some TVs this can be limited to HDMI 1 only though it is generally better even if it's available on all inputs that you use a rear panel connector as generally this means a shorter circuit path so there is less opportunity for interference and cross talk within the circuit.
