The Pro wasn’t lopsided anymore. Also additional note. I notice the disc drive is very loud. I feel it’s even louder than the OG PS5.
Would love for you to add in the Fan noise as a test. Mine is definitely louder than the OG. Ran some tests and it's at about 42db in game, quiet in the menus. Not terribly loud but a noticeable change for the worse. Some are saying they hear no noise at all so maybe some manufacturing differences.
I had both and when I used monitor it was very noticeable around 42-45db while cfi1200 is around 35db very quiet. I almost regret selling the og for the slim but I use it with TV now so it’s pretty far away from me. Cant really hear the fan now.
@@sa-Y-to I mean obviously but some consoles are still very noticeable even if you sit far away. I am saying that even thou the slim is louder it’s unnoticeable if you use it with your tv and sit on your couch or something which is ideal.
Got my disc drive installed last night, then started redownloading games. Fired up baldurs gate real quick to take a look. So far don’t notice any difference, but will try out other games later. Not sure it is worth it yet. The OG ps5 seemed to work just fine, but I’ll dig into it later tonight after work.
BG3 was the first game i fired up. i've put in 650 hours into the game and have a good feel for the usual performance. felt noticeably sharper with a slightly better frame rate pretty much instantly. certainly not world changing, but kinda cool. also noticed some odd behavior with some of the new mods but not sure if that's pro specific
How's the controller that came with it? The one that came with my PS5 pro feels lighter than my other controllers, the buttons feel like they stick when pressed in. I swear it feels cheaper.
My PS5 Pro also has coil whine, I exchanged mine on the first day. I got a new one and it's exactly the same. It's as you say though. Sensitive people might not be able to hear it, others might not, but it's definitely there. And it varies from game to game.
It’s not a defect it’s just how power supplies are when they have a load on them. You can hear the same thing in PCs or if you stand next to a power pole with a big transformer on it you can hear the wine as well. It’s not a defect but I can understand sensitive people might find it annoying but really the audio from my sound system drowns it out so I don’t even hear when playing games.
I expect it'll be like the launch day ps5 with about 70% of them having the cheap capacitors. My pro also has significant coil whine. I did return my og ps5 the very first week 4 years ago, but the one they returned was even worse.. This time I'll be smarter and buy a very long hdmi cable and return it in 12 months when they have a better revision. But I feel like it's important to return them at some point as Sony need to learn this is not ok. Also not all human brains are annoyed buy this, but quite a few are. Especially those with ASD.
@@Jasonsadventures Bro, you speak from my heart, I will do exactly the same as you. Firstly, I will get a long HDMI cable, that's a very good idea. Secondly, the PS5 Pro will be returned after twelve months, when we are still just within the warranty. Thirdly, I was diagnosed with ADHD at 34 and I find this coil beeping noise extremely annoying. And last but not least, yes, Sony must learn from simply installing cheap capacitors. But then charging such a high price. I mean, OK, we are graphics enthusiasts, we love it, but I think you have to be fair.
Yes! The original fat model stand made it look like it was floating when set horizontally. This pro model has these chintzy little plastic feet that make it look cheap.
@@AllanS420 That's ok, if you originally downloaded your games. Mine stopped reading discs after about 2 years, some games I downloaded but most are on disc which means paying for them again. I also have quite a few PS4 games on the system, all of which are on disc
@@Keeacer maybe some dust got in to it ? because i had the same issue once but i cleaned everything and working fine now. Some models tho are notorious of failing. Maybe i was just lucky
Crazy that they still haven’t fixed the coil whine 4 years later and after 3 different PS5 models. All Sony had to do was insulate the PSU with that putty stuff like what is in the Xbox Series PSU’s which would cost pennies. Either that or it’s just a cheaper PSU that’s used. Shouldn’t be a thing in a £700 console though. That’s just more penny pinching from Sony imo.
Mine has none, I checked it yesterday. My original PS5 Digital from 2020 had very noticable coil whine and I hated it but the pro has absolutely none in the same scenarios. BUT the fan is louder and the console has some kind of vibration noise for me which I'll try to figure out.
I don't even plan on buying one but just by watching mystic unbox the PS5 pro, Why do I get the feeling I am being ripped off the same way when I unbox my Iphone 14 Pro 😂
I appreciate the mentioning of coil whine. It’s something I’ve always noticed but didn’t think much of since I’ve never seen it talked about. So glad to know it’s normal even though oddly enough my Series X in comparison is generally pretty quiet
Buying a ps5 today is like a IKEA table, it's all detached parts. It's almost 900 euros for the stand + ps5 + disc drive... maybe when it's a lil cheaper cause I need a new one because my launch one is getting tired lmao
I've got one, and it's certainly a £220 upgrade over the OG from what I've seen so far. It'll only get better next year as well once folk start releasing games made with it in mind. I had some fairly big achievments this year and I had the money spare so I thought fuck it why not? It's pretty clearly aimed at enthusiasts, so it's not like every PS5 owner is gonna buy one or even be expected to. If you're into your tech and you want the best possible visuals + performance it's an awesome piece of engineering, and you'll probably really enjoy it. If you're not that fussed about all that just save your money man. It seems to be a really solid mid-gen upgrade but the OG is still an excellent console and will be for many years yet
@@brucewaynenotbatman Because it was new just like a new phone stop supporting this nonsense that’s why these companies do it because you have no backbone only “Consume products and get excited for next” as years pass by it supposed to be cheaper not backwards especially a platform with such a weak lineup after four years

Agreed, I think the all 3 versions of the PS4 look way better than the 3 versions of the PS5. I would have preferred if Sony stuck with a similar design aesthetic for the 5.
@@lavantz345 To be "fair" that includes disc drive, the stand and tax. We have tax already included in prices. But still. 800€ for the console alone. Disc drive is 120€.
It's probable due to the Hollywood requirement. Seem strange they would need to bother otherwise. They port all the big first party games to Windows anyway. Where it can and will be no effort pirated by millions without the expensive and complicated hardware hacks needed in every PS5 system someone would feel tempted to do the same in.
Did you know, when logged into the same account you can just swap the internal SSD and an external drive between consoles, no re-downloads necessary. Console just needs to be updated to the same firmware and be logged into the same account beforehand.
I'm not saying people shouldn't buy it if you want to buy it you should but for me the difference isn't worth trading in my launch PlayStation 5 to get this one after the trouble I went through to get the base ps5 in the first place back in 2021 with all the scalpers buying them all...plus I was lucky to get the Spiderman 2 faceplates for my ps5 so that's another reason
That's pretty much the last custom cover ps has done so far and I don't think the og ps5 is gonna get anymore custom covers, not even any more color console covers. Imma just have to buy all console covers for the OG model, I'm afraid they might be gone after a while.
Love your content I have just got a ps5 pro and is noticeably louder to my ears than the ps5 and it has coil whine which I have never had in a console should I be concerned. keep the grate content coming
As for the thumbnail, what did Sony not tell us? The position of the CMOS battery? The disc drive handshake? I don't see anything that they should have told us beforehand.
Picked mine up yesterday (along with the disk drive), it's my 3rd PS5 (I like to have one on multiple TVs). I can't see the problem with the price, it's a luxury item meaning you don't need one to survive. If you have a standard PS5 you're fine but if you're a techie like me and can swing it I don't see the problem. I got the original unit on release along with some of the revisions since, they all still work fine.
Mine makes little noises when i run games digitally… kind of annoyed cause the base ps5 didnt have those noises when i first got it unless i never noticed.
About the coil whine, I have the original model (2nd version) and it seems like it stopped doing it after year and half. But it wasn't very present in the first place, it did it during cutscenes in Guardians of the Galaxy and in the GT7 menus.
After having the console in hand i can say this: the packaging looks really cheap, the console itself looks cheap not really like a premium pro fessional console, the differences are not so notable, it could have been much better like twice as fast but it would have mean a big gap vs the ps5..but still the price has been doubled, no disk drive and stand makes it even cheaper and a stand is a must. I realky hope that they will make a limited edition similar to the 500 million one as this one is by no means premium
I had my PS5 Pro for a few days now and am loving it ❤ Smaller than my OG, just as quiet, but way faster. 950€ for the set with stand and disc drive may be expensive, but it’s worth it. Best way to play PS games and a one time investment that will pay off over the years. Similar to a 1000€ coffee machine that you’re going to use on a daily basis.
I’m still playing with my new PS5 Pro, trying out lots of old games and new ones. I’m seeing many improvements across the board even at this early stage, over my ancient launch day PS5 🤗

Oh wow, they got Witcher 4 already over at the foggy island. 😂 jokes aside, but my OG ps5 is no ps4 pro jet engine but it’s sure as hell not silent and coil whine is insane. Out of all the ridiculousness with this console (the lack of a disc drive, the pricey (non-included) vertical stand, the very subtle gaming improvements, etc) the most nonsensical thing IMHO is that the cover plates don't fit from the slim. LMAO
I found installing the disc drive was a bit scary as it didn't just slot in on my first attempt. I moved it a bit and gave it a little push and it felt like nothing was happening so I picked it up again and noticed I had made a very tiny dent in the metal on the inside of the console next to the pin hole because it wasn't quite right in there. Lifted it up, jiggled it gently a little bit and PLOP suddenly it went in. I was a bit worried the dent would have done something but the PS5 Pro immediately picked up the disc drive and reads discs just fine (and is even a bit quieter than my launch model PS5) so I guess it was fine after all. Really had me sweating for a moment, though!
That is one thing I’ll give to Xbox, the quality of just everything from the internal design, to the components inside to the layout etc, it is just so incredibly well built and honestly makes PlayStations look cheap on the inside even the pro… and it’s just a smaller quieter console. Nothing wrong with ps of course they are amazing but I cannot say the same about quality. And they seem to break more than Xbox series X’s I’ve seen in repair shops etc etc
@@ARXInfiniteJust want to add, the only reason you’re seeing more ps5’s in repair shops is due to there simply being two are three times as many PS5’s as there is Series consoles.
@@ARXInfiniteSeries X is very well built and the hardware is better. No need to get a Pro if you have a Series X because it is going to run future titles like GTA 6 just fine.
I think the packaging box is more stable too for Xbox series. Not sure since I never touched one in person. But I do know the Nintendo switch box is very solid and not flimsy like the PS5 box. Seems like they would have made the ps5 packaging box more solid since it is bigger than the other two competitors consoles.
I’ve owned a PS5 since launch. I bought the Pro. I bought the drive and stand. I’m happy with my purchase. It’s awesome. If you can afford it, you won’t regret the purchase.
My PS Pro is generating a lot of heat, after a while I’m pretty sure it causes problems for my PS Link dongle which I now have to plug into the back of the console right next to the vent.
Fat PS3 gave you more value for 600 dollars then the PS5 pro for 700 dollars. Yea PS3 was expensive for the time but you got a Blu Ray player big for the time wireless internet big for the time wireless controller big for the time free PSN PS1 , PS2 playback 4 usb ports memory stick reader HDMI big for the time oh HD gaming big for the time. The console could also play CDs and DVDs and rip CDs to the hard drive. This thing was a tank and had tremendous value. What value dose the PS5 Pro have oh slightly less blurriness in games give me 700 dollars please.
I'm actually surprised how awesome my pro looks. From pics online, I didn't expect much, but now that it's in my set-up, I love how it looks. I have mine set up horizontal with a disc drive, and with my steel series headset, and 2 dual sense edge controllers sitting next to it, pure sexy
@TISUAL I'm behind the times, I have the Siberia 840. Honestly it's still an amazing heat set. It had the control module that plugs into the PlayStation, gives you a lot of settings and options, plus keeps an additional battery charged. I haven't felt the need to upgrade whatsoever, and if I ever do I'll get another steel series
I haven’t used my edge in probably a year. But since I got the pro it’s probably gonna become my main controller with the Spider-Man controller being my back up while the edge charges
If you are talking about the packaging box, yep I agree. I just mentioned that too. I wish the box was solid and not flimsy, something like how they did the Nintendo switch box.
800€ and feels cheap af. The packaging, the glossy plastics, coil whine... after dropping that much of money you expect something better. I know the important stuff is the performance but all counts...Sony should improve on this.
Not sure if this sounds a bit weird but could you do a video on how to properly remove the faceplates as I heard some people were having difficulty with them
Still has the same crappy hdmi bandwidth as base ps5, doesn't support full rgb hdr in 120 hz mode. Pretty disappointing. Psvr2 games that rely on dynamic resolution look much better. That's the only thing keeping me from returning this thing.

Same here. My og model was whisper quiet, and the pro got a bit louder.
The launch units db would also reach those db so it’s still the same sound lol
@ don’t know, I have an elite so I use that one. The one that came with it is still in the styrofoam plastic wrap stuff
“The OG ps5 seemed to work just fine”…. So why the hell did you decide to buy a Pro then?
I made my own ps5 Pro Stand with the stand from the OG ps5 😂😂 I simply drilled a whole through the stand and use the same screw.
I should be asleep but gonna watch this anyway
For all those who bought into the ps5 pro dbrand have a magnetic stand so it’s a must if you want your console horizontal and to sit safely
5:05 THIS is what I came for
All in one video, concise and to the point. Bravo! Subbed!
Insert it costs too much comment here
Way to much I can get a decent gaming pc for £800
Valid only if you live outside the US. But it's still an optional upgrade
its 699 USD in the US??? but its 950 USD here in Malaysia which is just... DAMN
It costs too much
People can’t help themselves
@@Withtheclaw how do you return it within a year?
@@Talisac80 I took out an additional warranty through the store where I bought it, which also covers things like this.
worth it for me, shame theres no disc drives in stock though
That coil whine would drive me nuts.
It's not that bad it depends which game you playing base playstation 5 whas much worser
Call me bias... but I feel that the OG model laid horizontally... is the most premium 'looking' PS5
I guess the correct word is biased. No one will call you bias.
Especially in black
Yes you are very bias
Yes! The original fat model stand made it look like it was floating when set horizontally. This pro model has these chintzy little plastic feet that make it look cheap.
Looks like a joke laying it down
I have original ps5 disc version when it was released and i think its enough for me for at least 3 more years.
Unless it stops reading your discs
@@Keeacer if it happens, then i just use it digitally 😃
@@AllanS420 That's ok, if you originally downloaded your games. Mine stopped reading discs after about 2 years, some games I downloaded but most are on disc which means paying for them again. I also have quite a few PS4 games on the system, all of which are on disc
@@Keeacer maybe some dust got in to it ? because i had the same issue once but i cleaned everything and working fine now. Some models tho are notorious of failing. Maybe i was just lucky
the OG ps5 still looks the best. both slim and pro to me doesn't look that good and the stand is just not matching with the console at all.
This ps5 pro would been a nice value if it came with dual sense edge and disc drive bundled in the box
I want to say my husband is a biggest fan of your page. He is a die hard PlayStation and one day he wants to stream he stuff in TH-cam.
I don't even plan on buying one but just by watching mystic unbox the PS5 pro, Why do I get the feeling I am being ripped off the same way when I unbox my Iphone 14 Pro 😂
Im happy with my slim, i always got the slim version since ps1 to ps5 slim, except ps3 i took super slim 😁
Melissa jump scare @ 5:09
Awesome stuff, keep it up Ryan!
I appreciate the mentioning of coil whine. It’s something I’ve always noticed but didn’t think much of since I’ve never seen it talked about. So glad to know it’s normal even though oddly enough my Series X in comparison is generally pretty quiet
Xbox series X is super quite compared to my PS5, I've had two Xbox's and they made way less noise... my PS5 sounds like a spaceship taking off..
I have both plus a PS5 pro. My XSX and launch day PS5 are very quiet, literally silent almost. The pro is definitely a little louder.
The console comparison next to the fat ps3 shows just how ahead of its time that’s consoles design was. Still looks surprising modern imo.
Buying a ps5 today is like a IKEA table, it's all detached parts. It's almost 900 euros for the stand + ps5 + disc drive... maybe when it's a lil cheaper cause I need a new one because my launch one is getting tired lmao
If you really want Quality Mode at 60fps, go for the Pro. If you're ok with Quality Mode at 30fps, stick with the normal standard ps5.
Performance is good enough, we play games we don't zoom in and sightsee with binoculars.
$700 without a disc drive is crazy work
800 with one added, crazy
For real
@@brucewaynenotbatman Because it was new just like a new phone stop supporting this nonsense that’s why these companies do it because you have no backbone only “Consume products and get excited for next” as years pass by it supposed to be cheaper not backwards especially a platform with such a weak lineup after four years
@@balloonedraccoon2503 so I’m guessing adding one for $800 would be better ??
My arrives today when amazon original said monday! Im so excited! First games I'll play: FF7 Rebirth, Alan Wake 2 (physical baby!), and Stellar Blade NG+
SHEEP!
I had the money there for the pro but ended up putting it towards a 65” Samsung flagship OLED tv. I now have hdmi 2.1, 144hz, VRR and ALLM, I didn’t have these on my previous Sony 4k with my PS5.
What I’m getting to here is if you don’t have a decent tv forget it.
Yes sir. On the money 😊
PS4 Pro was still my fav looking unit. PS5 can even sit on a desk flush, drives me crazy.
Agreed, I think the all 3 versions of the PS4 look way better than the 3 versions of the PS5. I would have preferred if Sony stuck with a similar design aesthetic for the 5.
950€ in Europe. I can't get over the insane pricing. (That includes disc drive, stand and tax)
Obviously the PS6 will be even more expensive. It's making it easier by each generation to go for a PC instead
@@heretic124 950 euros?! Damn they're absolutely fleecing for that price
€950 is so out of touch. My PC that runs ANYTHING that exists costs just a few hundred euros more. (Approximately €1100)
@@lavantz345it is 799 euros in my country. Probably he meant with disk and stand.
@@lavantz345 To be "fair" that includes disc drive, the stand and tax. We have tax already included in prices. But still. 800€ for the console alone. Disc drive is 120€.
I hope jailbreaks will eliminate the need for online drive registration
It's probable due to the Hollywood requirement. Seem strange they would need to bother otherwise. They port all the big first party games to Windows anyway. Where it can and will be no effort pirated by millions without the expensive and complicated hardware hacks needed in every PS5 system someone would feel tempted to do the same in.
Did you know, when logged into the same account you can just swap the internal SSD and an external drive between consoles, no re-downloads necessary.
Console just needs to be updated to the same firmware and be logged into the same account beforehand.
It’s what I did, moved everything to my PS5 added 2TB SSD, then just put it in my new PS5 Pro. Nearly 2TB of games. Job done 👍
But your settings
You gotta manually do that
@@TheUncleSpiderX nope! Backed my PS5 settings to and external SSD, then restored them to new PS5 Pro. Job done 👍
Was waiting specifically for you Mystic
Honestly I thought the scalpers would be a problem. But I was able to order one from my job this morning. (15% discount for the win baby)
Love your content I have just got a ps5 pro and is noticeably louder to my ears than the ps5 and it has coil whine which I have never had in a console should I be concerned. keep the grate content coming
Send it back...
I Haven't Heard Those Noises On The OG PS5
The ultimate PlayStation fan that’s still rational and not a fanboy
I had my PS5 Pro for a few days now and am loving it ❤
Smaller than my OG, just as quiet, but way faster.
950€ for the set with stand and disc drive may be expensive, but it’s worth it. Best way to play PS games and a one time investment that will pay off over the years. Similar to a 1000€ coffee machine that you’re going to use on a daily basis.
Personally not worth the 700+ upgrade considering the pro enhanced games are still capped at 30fps, no disc drive
Exactly.
They aren't capped at 30fps though
I’m still playing with my new PS5 Pro, trying out lots of old games and new ones. I’m seeing many improvements across the board even at this early stage, over my ancient launch day PS5 🤗
For me I get the stand on Temu because they have one that lights up to match the blue light on the system and it cheaper and nice looking. 😅😂
Until it blows up your usb port, assuming the light is powered over usb
I bought a third party stand from Amazon that is half the price and looks and works identical to the Sony branded one.
5:06 The car wants to help 😂😂😂
Why cant we just call it a cat anymore?
@@proggz39Per internet words the reason is “This playful comparison highlights how cats' appearances can resemble luxury vehicles. Additionally, just as cars need fuel to operate, cats seem to thrive on occasional treats, adding to the charm of this analogy.”
I got the PS5 Standard disk version 2021 works great, no noise, low heat, plays almost all games great (Witcher 4 in Novigrad crashes regularly though), £500 odd at the time, no plans on buying the BS5 Pro at £800 in UK with disk drive, outrageous ripoff for a small improvement, will see what the PS6 brings in a few years 👌
Oh wow, they got Witcher 4 already over at the foggy island. 😂 jokes aside, but my OG ps5 is no ps4 pro jet engine but it’s sure as hell not silent and coil whine is insane. And of course - the drive… any time I start the console and there is a disc in the drive > it goes ballistic. My kid in the other room wakes up 2 out of 3 times and here goes daddy’s gaming time😢
@Solegor I got my PS5 Standard in Nov 2021 so I guess its a later variant from the 2020 OG, worked great since 👌 Got Forspoken Disk for £10 eBay, Sony Digital £70 lol 😅, Star Wars Outlaws Disk £34 eBay, Sony Digital £70 lol 😂 Screw Shabby Sony 👎😵
I was hoping they will finally solve the coil whine thing on this expensive console.
I was wrong.
@@ARXInfiniteyeah here comes the fake ass I see more in repairs shop story

I see they don't have 8K on the pro box either now huh
My PS Pro is generating a lot of heat, after a while I’m pretty sure it causes problems for my PS Link dongle which I now have to plug into the back of the console right next to the vent.
The original PS3 look more premium lmao !
For real! 😂😂
Fat Ps3 still one of my favorite console designs to this day.
It’s going to get even more expensive than that because of Trump and his tariff fee increase.

Nothing quite like a headless Mystic PS5 PRO unboxing video 😂, just kidding, very thorough introduction with close ups 👌🏻👍🏻
This console is Sony's greatest joke.
Which steel series headset you got?
@TISUAL
I'm behind the times, I have the Siberia 840.
Can’t believe they’re still using this terrible packaging even for the Pro version. PlayStation packaging designers should find another job.
If you are talking about the packaging box, yep I agree. I just mentioned that too. I wish the box was solid and not flimsy, something like how they did the Nintendo switch box.
@ yes. Or look at the packaging Meta has been doing for years. So much better.
Same, I felt like mine had already been unboxed and re-packaged when I got it.
Excellent video. Always top quality stuff 👌
8k in 2020, 4k in 2024. seems about spot on given how gaming is now
Looks like I’ll be getting the slim
800€ and feels cheap af. The packaging, the glossy plastics, coil whine... after dropping that much of money you expect something better. I know the important stuff is the performance but all counts...Sony should improve on this.
Not sure if this sounds a bit weird but could you do a video on how to properly remove the faceplates as I heard some people were having difficulty with them
PS portal still stutters with the ps5 pro, FYI.
My portal works flawlessly no stutter don’t know about you
That’s because the stuttering is caused by internet speed, not the ability of the console itself
Great unboxing video. I honestly can’t wait to unbox mine. I only wish the 30th anniversary edition wasn’t releasing later.
Still has the same crappy hdmi bandwidth as base ps5, doesn't support full rgb hdr in 120 hz mode. Pretty disappointing.
Psvr2 games that rely on dynamic resolution look much better. That's the only thing keeping me from returning this thing.
